Question: What's The Lowest You've Ever Pulled?
Zenister replied to Kramer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
A damn fine example...Im stealing it. This is true ground rush... Another type of ground rush can be when you come out of a cloud or just look down and the ground is A LOT bigger than you though it should be. This is like when you are driving, and look down at the radio just to look up and see the really fast comming bumper of the car in front of you that hit his brakes while you put in a CD. very nice example.. quite honestly i LOVE that feeling and the adrenalin kick it gives.. anyone interested in some serious ground rush (perhaps greater than that in BASE which i havent acquired all the gear to experience yet ) should come out and try some inverted trust falls from 300 ft or so... rappel out the edge, lock off, roll over onto your head and let your belay take control...the ground comes up awwwwful fast...and you cant grab the rope at that point or it will burn right thru your hand...how much do you trust your buddies??? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

nioce pictures dave! although i must say you've lost some 'character' with the shorter goatee one of the best things i've heard from a tandem master after the canopy opens (thru my friend who did 3 with the same rocking TM at Eloy) was "Welcome to my office!" she uses it now after a good rapid (shes a river guide here in WA) ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Question: What's The Lowest You've Ever Pulled?
Zenister replied to Kramer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i was just recently told two stories of low pullers. one had a premature opening during a big way (20+) which caused everyone to pause, look and break off a bit high... another.. (apparently notorious for pulling very low consistently) whos pilot chute slipped out during a fairly large dive was 'infamous' enough that the rest of the formation assumed they must be dead and pulled right away with at least two going directly to reserves... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
what was the joke when she was rumored to be buying the Lakers?? "only owner to lead their team in scoring??" ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

almost anything becomes annoying when the radio runs it into the ground, even bands/songs i really like... music could live without lately Counting Crows. -didnt singing eunuchs go out of fashion a few hundred years ago?? 80% of Country music. Repetition of tired cliche's and slow death by 4/4, sometimes i wonder if they dont give Nashville rhythm sections frontal lobotomies.. Western i like, but who hears that anywhere anymore?? 80% of Rap music. except the 20% that understands melody or at least melodic rhythms ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
well from a personal standpoint as my father used to say.. "you'd argue with a post, dig it up and argue with the hole" one tries to keep it reasonablly civil, but i've been known to escalate the rethoric on occasion simply for the entertainment value... i've discovered life is much easier if i expend that energy here rather than use it in person ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Are military static line considered jumps?
Zenister replied to StevePhelps's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i was told (during AFF by the ST&A while we were talking about military experiences) that they counted as 'jumps', but there are also freefall requirements for most licenses/ratings that have to be met and they dont help much (at all) for those... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

Please be careful when jumping with Tandem's
Zenister replied to Rdutch's topic in Safety and Training
i understand what your saying particularly in our lovely legal enviroment, but thats sort of like suing boeing when a cessna crashes into your 707.. would you call boeing for approval to have a cessna fly in formation with it?? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
