    I think either camera would suffice for my skydiving needs, but the 300d is significantly lighter and is therefore a better choice for me. Weight is a big deal to me, having been "schwacked" a few times!! The plastic body doesn't bother me, I jumped a Rebelx/s for years and had great service out of it.     Strong has a modification that could have prevented this. It is a second closing loop/flex pin that releases only after the drogue is released. http://www.strongparachutes.com/pdf-files/dht2loop.pdf Out of sequence deployments are among the nastiest things a Tandem Instructor can encounter...     I am not taking the issue of wingloading lightly(no pun intended) I understand its place in the equation. After much forethought and research, I feel a .7 wingloading is a good place to start.     I learned the "Density Altitude" lesson when I visited Colorado about 10 years ago! I was jumping at the Loveland/Ft.Collins airport, had a hard opening followed by hard/fast landing. I'm convinced that my ankle was saved by recent rains that made the ground soft. Hopefully my landing skills have improved a bit since then.... Thanks for the info and the reminder!
