  2. what is a "dog leg"? "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  3. they have past laws here in georgia that makes it illegal to text while driving. you can get a ticket for this. i wish they would enforce it better. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  4. i have brought at least 25 whuffo friends in the past year and a half to make tandems, 1 ended up getting an a license package. if i dont want someone to see what i put on facebook, they wont be a friend. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  5. thank you for your service! "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  6. This is what i was replying to you deaf fucking divit sucking miscreant . . . well its kinda obvious asc is a shit hole, i was talking about the mid week jumps. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  7. fucking hilarious, kinda makes me want to punch someone though "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  8. Well - there is that ground launch area at ASC's landing area. The LZ there is a shithole. Actually, the whole DZ's a shithole. Go with The Farm. I love it there. Haven't been out there in a while though. I've been having fun making mid-week jumps at the local airport 7 miles from my house. what dz would that be? "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  9. If "they" are already being paid to do just that, then yes. But not by an out of town tourist. Sparky so you think that emergency responses for you should only be carried out in the city you are a resident of? "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  10. Well - there is that ground launch area at ASC's landing area. hahaha!!! "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  11. it is a nice canopy, and i might know where to find a 190. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  12. the dz you go to will probably have that size or close in a student rig. welcome back!!! "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  13. sounds like he is playing a game of russian roulette "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  14. the pace of your aff will go according to you. if you can make multiple jumps in a day mentally and physically, then do it! i think the most i did was 3 levels in a day. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  15. i was just mentioning my experience with trees because i know the kind of real world work it would take. that's why i said 10,000 is too expensive because it isnt a very complicated process. i seriously doubt they needed 21 people to get 1 guy out of a tree. i am not saying that it should cost $10, but 10k is a lot for the service that was rendered. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  16. ...and we get absolutely nothing FOR that money do we. Could the money be better spent is of course a rhetorical question...lots of the 'fat' could and should be trimmed. We're running the whole show on credit, but that's not the point of THIS discussion. In the current real world, services are being downgraded and cut altogether across the board. In my community we have less than 1/2 the police officers we did when I moved here 13 years ago and the city has nearly doubled in size. In the small town my mother lives in they laid-off almost the entire fire department and went volunteer...the choice was no firemen, no cops, or none of either in the very near future. Trust me, they ain't pullin' cats outta trees these days...there is no money for the type of services we've become accustomed to but plainly are not 'entitled' to without further tax burden. Yes it's a bit of a 'slippery slope' deciding who is to get what, when and why, but for things like pulling a skydiver out of a tree, towing a sea-craft in that was carelessly run out of fuel, or yanking Tabby out of a tree for granny...common sense says yer probably gonna have to buck up something. well doesn't 10,000 dollars for getting someone out of a tree sound a bit ridiculous? i know how to climb trees and the equipment involved, and 10,000 is WAY too much money. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  17. coming from our government this is no surprise to me. they have been taking our money for all of our lives, what makes you think they wont get as much as they can??? "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  18. Why? You know that the money you are giving them is only going to further finance their fraudulent advertising and scam. With all the info that's available online and throughout the many threads here on DZ.com, and even in this thread, you can't say you don't know. Besides all that, The Farm is a lot better place! Give it a try, you might just like it. i have never given asc one fucking red cent!!! (rant over) i had to drop my rig off at chutingstar (connected to the farm hangar where i jump) to get the reserve repacked and was in the area, and happened to stop by since it was the middle of the week to see if i knew anyone there. i do not support ASC or SKYRIDE in any way. i would be happy if they shut down, but we need them gone for the right reasons. any dropzone that is closed because of airport problems or plane maintenance issues looks bad on the entire community. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  19. I thought it was soda pops that gave you kidney stones. What's wrong with tap water?(Except that you're in Spain.) sweet tea is the worst thing you can drink. soda isn't far behind though. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  20. Last I heard, he wasn't flying it anymore cause someone left the seatbelt unhooked and it beat the fuselage up pretty good from 10k I heard the same...how frustrating. On my two rides, he was very adamant about the seatbelts. It was a Bell 407. Not a closed cabin. As for the Vigil II fire, there's not too much to say. He didn't feel anything at the time. When he stood up to prepare for exit, everyone noticed his reserve PC in his seat. And he still got video and stills of the exit Dedication! I'm just pissed... I was really hoping to make a heli jump, but the winds Saturday had us on C-holds, and Sunday it wasn't flying. the video is from another passenger, not him. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  21. saw it up on base jumper, it is some pretty cool shit! "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  22. Lots of people doing those heli jumps last weekend were having their digi altimeters go crazy. Wear an analogue if you can... There was a vigil that fired on the ride too. Cypres will reconize that its not possible for you to be doing these events in freefall, so it will disarm itself/shut off. i know the jumper who had the fire, scary shit! there is video of the the almost exit. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  23. Last I heard - ASC was out of buisness - at least until they pay thier rent or taxes or plane maintenance - I'm pretty sure iot is plane maintenance - The FARM however, i have not heard of any issues like that, ever. Every time I have gone - it is the fun jumpers that are important, the tandems are money and business, but not the key factor. Nothing happens at the farm, in the same way that what happens in Vegas stays in vegas. There is no question in my mind, The Farm is the place to be. asc is not out of business. i was there on wednesday. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  24. i'm glad they are already doing it. makes it easier to catch a ride "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
