    Actually, I am very comfortable and relaxed in freefall. I believe I can make the turns and rolls. Had a little practice in my second tandem. I am trying to control additional expense. Think I will focus on canopy control and landing. But the tunnel sounds like something I might want to do down the road for further freefall training. Been reading through the AFF curriculum and the Skydivers Student Handbook. Much to learn! Can't wait until my next jump! Thanks everyone! bocabruce

    If you are a pilot your premium has already been rated and you pay more of course. Now with skydiving in the picture your rate on the current policy should not be increased. However, if you apply for additional life insurance and disclose skydiving, as you should, then you might be rated for additional risk. That comes from my wife who works with Northwestern Mutual...find and agent and ask too! Boca bocabruce

    I just turned 50 last May 17th. I never played sports in high school or college. My health is ok. I am a 1997 cancer survivor and had 1/3 of my right lung removed. I am in total remission. No cancer!! I have had brushes with death and though I respect the sport of skydiving and know seconds count, I have no fear. I feel capable. I know I can relax and breath. I have complete awareness in freefall and canopy ride. I'm going for it! I wanna SKYDIVE bocabruce

    I did my first tandem on my 50th birthday last May. Sunday I went to the DZ in Lake Wales and signed up for my AFF. She suggested, because of my age, that I come and do my first level and pay for just that ($289) Then I can evaluate the program and the instructors can evaluate me. Sound like a good plan, but not real sure. Was a little disappointed that I might not make the cut.?. Am I too old to begin an extreme sport like skydiving? bocabruce

    Jumping is all I talk about. Home, work, family, friends. Most of them just have this look of boredom and walk away from me. I know I am obsessed with skydiving. I look into the sky and long to be there. I love it. But dont understand why an old friend would be so discouraging about the lifestyle. I am a man of strong faith and conviction. bocabruce

    Hey DZ No one wants to talk to me anymore because all I talk about is skydiving. My friends and co-workers ignore me most of the time. They cant believe I would do anything like this and spend this kind of money. I dont care !!!! I am gonna JUMP! bocabruce

Great community of people ...seems more like a lifestyle. I will be doing my AFF in July, next month, and will get 7-10 jumps, depending upon my progression for. Show up, Suit up, pray up! Never felt this way before about anything ...Harleys, Boats, Vetts, Bungee ...nothing! Got a brand new start in life and a free t-shirt to prove it ! But it's gonna take some time to learn about gear and all. Thrill of a lifetime! I just gotta JUMP! bocabruce

    Made a second tandem jump today! Awesome! Thanks for all your input, and, I apologize to those who didn't like my question posted 3 times...now I know! I will take a week off in July and attend ground school and try to get my AFF completed. More than likely I will get my 25 jumps in for Class A...then Christmas! I'll have to learn about buying gear. Great experience, great culture, great community! Love it! bocabruce
