: Life On the first day God created the cow. God said, "You must go to the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer. I will give you a life span of sixty years." The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. Let me have twenty years and I'll give back the other forty." God agreed. On the second day, God created the dog. God said, "Sit all day by the door and bark at everyone who comes in or walks past. I will give you a life span of twenty years." The dog said, "That's too long to be barking. Give me ten years and I'll give back the other ten." So God agreed (sigh). On the third day God created the monkey. God said, "Entertain people, do monkey tricks, make them laugh. I'll give you a twenty year life span." Monkey said,"How boring, monkey tricks for twenty years? I don't think so. Dog gave you back ten, so that's what I'll do too, okay?" And God agreed again. On the fourth day God created man. God said, "Eat, sleep, play, have sex, enjoy. Do nothing, just enjoy. I'll give you twenty years." Man said, "What? Only twenty years? No way! Tell you what, I'll take my twenty, and the forty the cow gave back, and the ten the dog gave back, and the ten the monkey gave back. That makes eighty, okay?" "Okay", said God. "You have a deal." So that is why for the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play, have sex, enjoy and do nothing; for the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family; for the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain our grandchildren; and the last ten years we sit in front of the house and bark at everybody. Life has now been explained!! FrogLady

I'm horrible at arguing, I knew I shouldn't post, oh well. Yes we should all know who's bankrupt, but hinting that that's going to cause them to put their customers in danger is not fair without proof. FrogLady

Had a few at my old house. One good thing about Doves, very quite. Two bad things, they always come back to their spring homes and can make nests very fast. FrogLady

There are and have been quite a few airlines(regional and commercial) in the past decade running in bankruptcy. Chapter 11 is meant to allow companies the time they need to figure out a better finacial strategy. In the last couple of years quite a few charter airlines, DZ, and airport have folded. He's had the CASA's up for sale since last summer, less jumpers(everywhere because of the economy),huge insurance increases since 9-11-01, and leasing demand down. I don't find it hard to understand why he's having a hard time right now. We need to help this DZ and all others right now not slander them.

Don't give up yet. Get as many doctor opinions as you can. It comes down to they don't want to be responsible for saying yes you can jump no problem. It needs to be your decision once your healed. If you have another hard opening you could reinjury that area, but if you had an opening like that without the old injury you'd still get hurt. My husband went thru a very similar accident. He ended up having surgery to remove the ruptured disks and then let the neck heal it's self. After about 6 months he started jumping again. He jumps a Crossfire, it opens very slowly and consistently on heading. The camera he wears is on his belly with just the lens on the helmet. He's now been back jumping for a year, did 4-way video at Nationals, and 400+ jumps since the injury. Wishing you a quick and full recovery. FrogLady

I was just there Feb 23rd and 24th, with a group of 17. We had 18 hours booked, had to book that space back in September and still had time blocks at 6am. Once the west coast tunnel is open that should help, also heard rumors about New Jersey getting one. FrogLady

Question about relationships? More for married people....
froglady replied to rhino's topic in The Bonfire
He's always included. I work 2 jobs, time off is limited, and I want to spend it with him. When he was injured I didn't jump as much since he couldn't. He's very spoiled, hungry I get him food, doesn't like to drive so I do, I just try to keep his life as stress free as possible. FrogLady -

1. For the most part I plan everything. 2. If I was to have kids, they'd need to earn it. 3. Both. Every once in awhile I need a sounding board. 4. He's first. Thank goodness he loves to jump as much as I do. FrogLady -
One of my team mates jumps a Mirage, quite a few times his reserve handle has come out. Design problem? FrogLady

Just got my canopy back for getting relined and the mod. done. Wanted to see if anyone else is flying one. The flare is definitely better, but the turns seem to be slower. Anyone else find the same thing? Thanks for any info you can give me. FrogLady

Almost dark landing in small back yard about 2 miles from DZ, only choice due to trees. Walked up to the farm house, an old man was on his porch with a shot gun waiting for some deer which I sure I scared away with all my screaming as I landed. He had know phone and didn't think he could direct me down the right dirt roads. He offered to use his 4x4 to take me to the main road. As we drove out I noticed a lot of run down houses/shacks with tombstones in there front yards. When we got close to the main road he said "I'd have to give him directions to the airport". Very scary, how could you miss all the planes and parachutes 2 miles from you house. I have a friends story thats even better. She landed on the other side of the river at Sebastian. Same thing no power or phone, the guy to her in his canoe to a friends house that had a phone. FrogLady

Most painful: Dislocated all my toes while running out a landing in tall grass, put my foot in a gopher hole. Grounded 1 week. Longest time out: Broken ankle, canopy caught a tree limb landing in a small yard. Grounded 8 weeks. Broke a few bones in my foot reaching for a landing, one of these days I'll learn how to land. Said fuck it, wrapped it up kept jumping. FrogLady

I jump with someone that has both ankles fused, he had a very hard landing on the tarmac and shattered them both. He says most days theres no pain, they do get achy in bad weather. He jumps a big Triathlon, so running out landings. FrogLady

Any updates on his conditions? Please keep us informed, may people are wishing him well. FrogLady

I know we're spoiled over here. The funny thing is we drove by 2 other DZ's one has and Super Otter the other had a Casa for the weekend. I love the King Air, less then 15min to 14,500+ on every jump. Do you ever jump at Headcorn? Look B4U Leap FrogLady
