I've been packing pilot chutes pretty-much the same way since I started packing - now, all of a sudden, 3 hard pulls in a row! The first one I actually packed for a friend - who ended up having a reserve ride. The second came out after 2 tugs - but wasn't too difficult. The third came out after I, somehow, managed to get my left hand over to my right and pull with both hands (I've tried to duplicate on the ground and can't.). All of this on the same rig. After the 3rd hard pull, a rigger examined the boc. He noticed some extra stitching constricting the boc 5/16 of an inch. He recommended trying a new p.c. packing method before removing the stitches. The new method of packing the p.c. but it is terribly loose and I'm worried that a bad exit or bump in freefall could cause a premature deployment. Any recommendations? Haylee

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm planning on getting with some of the more experienced RW people on my DZ and asking for a little assistance. I've just got to find them when they're not doing 4-way and 8-way stuff... Haylee

I've got a little problem - I FALL TOO SLOW!! I'm ~5'2" and 108lbs. I've tried wearing weights but it doesn't seem to help my fall rate too much (the most I've worn so far is ~10 pounds). I have a nylon front on my jumpsuit and a lot of spandex everywhere else. I've got a pretty good arch too. The rig I'm using sticks out to the side a little bit, but I didn't think that would alter my fall rate too much... Every time I try to move in to dock on someone I pop up (even if I'm not reaching for them). Any tips??? Haylee

Hmmm... So, what's your total up to now for number of things lost in freefall or during opening (due to being packed into a canopy)???

Hours of play is good, but it seems that by the time we find a good position for me it takes him about half as long as I need. But even getting to that point is always an adventure and just as fun!

Before skydiving I was always at work - very interested in what I did for a living, spent my weekends underground (caving/spelunking), and spent a lot of time taking road trips. Now I am bored to the point of going crazy at work - not at all interested in my work, spend my weekends at the DZ (either jumping or manifesting), and call/e-mail family/friends because I don't have the time/money to visit them in person. No, no, no - that's not what they're saying. If the hurricane hits land tomorrow in Louisiana, we'll have good weather for the weekend - it just may be a little gusty though. ->Forecast for Aggieland isn't too bad - partly cloudy, winds 5-10mph w/ gusts up to 20-25mph possible. It took me about 5 days to come off of the adrenaline high of my 1st jump. Enjoy it - then go get some more!
