How much do you pay to get full altltude

Agree - Even though I wasn't a participant in the 140 ways at ZHills, I did get that very impression about way too many egos and bigway politics going on. -

Not a problem. Check their website for directions. Follow the map and not the directions though. The road kinda changed and they haven't given me the new text to post yet. -

Couple options depending on the route - Mile Hi is about a 35 minute drive (by the way I drive and where I used to live) from downtown Denver. King Air that flys fast and the Eloy Otter arrives on May 1 so it will be there too. Other option if I-76 is on your route is Denver Skydivers About 90 minutes from downtown Denver and possibly on your way if that's your route. King Air too. -
When I was a senior in high school, I also worked at a car dealership. Got the key code to make an extra key for my favorite teacher's car and with the help of a few from the class, we filled her car to the brim with styro peanuts. Capping it off by closing the sunroof again. Needless to say, she was a bit peeved and after some venting, she demanded the extra door key to her car. In unison, we all got up and walked up to her desk and put a duplicate of her doorkey. ----- ~~~Michael

Steve- Here's the rest of the facts: The foundation is being setup by the family, not the DZ. The DZ is complying as the family holds the keys to the doors. Yes, the new otter is in pieces - better to have it in pieces getting fixed than to be riding in a questionable bus? A nice white, otter will be arriving on May 1st from SDA while the other otter is figured out. The family had the options to close the doors last April. They didn't. We (you, me, staff, jumpers, etc.) showed the family that we were great people and that closing the doors would not be right to us. While it's going to suck to pay the extra $1, it's part of the family's greiving process and how they want to remember their fallen member. Michael btw, I only asked once in the years that I worked there to bump an experience jumper since I screwed up the manifest. The jumper was solo anyway, got on the next load and I paid for half their slot out of my personal account. -
me thinks you're a little biased on that one... ----- ~~~Michael

The 724th transportation company is based a couple miles from me. Not a good situation all around.

So there's a few whuffos sitting around at ZHills talking about the TLC show yesterday and one of them says I can't remember the student's name, but the instructor was, ummm...Sally Hathaway. Sally, standing 15 feet away just smiles... ----- ~~~Michael

You missed the part about being friends for the last 6 years ... Caught that. I've got friends that were friends for a long time, got married and it was the worst thing they ever did. Others who were always friends but went different directions and eventually got re-acquianted and then regretted not doing it long ago. btw, currently dating my highschool sweet heart. the time apart and the screwed up relationships we've both been in is making the time back together the best experience we've both had. Make sure you're both going into this with eyes wide open and not just in the heat of the moment. Congrats and wish you both well and success in all that the both of you encounter... ----- ~~~Michael

Actually found a retail job pretty quickly so I'd have some money, but it also gave me some flexibilty to look for a job during the day. What part of FL are you looking at? I've got friends all over this state and not all of them jumpers... ----- ~~~Michael -
Wow...that was quick. Congrats just the same. ----- ~~~Michael

Didn't you see Don checking his hair out and stealing my hat for his interview? ----- ~~~Michael

Yeah, well, we at least stopped by to check on you...

Add moving halfway across the country...with no job lined up...done that twice now... -
well, It's 1:15 A.M. I get on a plane to FL in 4 1/2 hours. A little tunnel time, a little air time, a little time to hang out with friends... Finishing taxes too before i go. Let's just say I'm getting 36$ back from Colorado, my home and former state of residence. You don't want to know the checks I'm filling out for federal and IL. ----- ~~~Michael

travelocity mostly, but on the rare occasion that one of the others beats the price, I'll go with that. Anyway, that's what DSL is for right? Surfing for plane tix in 7 different windows? ----- ~~~Michael

If someone tells you that looking out the door for your first night jump is easy, they're lying. It's a totally new environment that is very fun to play in. I've got 10 night jumps now. First night one was done on Jump #51. There was a guy on the plane that was 'responsible' for making sure I got out the door safely. He spotted and gave me a whack on the should and yelled go. I just looked back at him with a 'you've got to be kidding' look. Rolled out the door and got stable and made sure I kept myself orientated with the airport. Opened at 5k per the dive plan. flew around a little bit and found the other two who followed me out. Ended up center of the peas right next to the beer that was waiting for me. It was very awesome to say the least. Thanks Bob @ Skdive Greensberg and Angie Kivett, the S&TA at the time for signing off after I passed the B test... ----- ~~~Michael

What is your favorite skydiving web site?
WFFC replied to Rdutch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
And more when I find links or people pass them on to me. It's basically the yellow pages for everything skydiving. Thanks! ----- ~~~Michael -
Rushed...Plain and simple, should not have gotten out of the plane... No goggles, no alti, stuck toggle...did pull at 4k though as I was eyeballing the other jumper's alti, 4k was break off and plan was for me to dump in place. Stuck toggle problem was fixed quickly saving beer and $ for me and not going to my rigger. Ended up buying him beer anyway.

Negatory. This was more of a local political issue than an issue with jumpers. ----- ~~~Michael
