  1. You working the weekend too? Just trying to help you out. ----- ~~~Michael
  2. Does that mean I can just jump off over Rantoul instead of landing at O'Hare? My comment to the pilot when I get off the plane in O'hare on monday will be 'yeah, I'm gonna jump out of one of these tomorrow'. You'll probably be arrested in the airport. I'll let you know. ----- ~~~Michael
  3. you're a little late. ----- ~~~Michael
  4. Does that mean I can just jump off over Rantoul instead of landing at O'Hare? My comment to the pilot when I get off the plane in O'hare on monday will be 'yeah, I'm gonna jump out of one of these tomorrow'. ----- ~~~Michael
  5. Hey, if I'm on the road, I'm walking out my door at 2 AM (generally every monday) to make the drive to the airport. You'll be there soon. Did I mention the jet got approved by the FAA? ----- ~~~Michael
  6. You give people what they want... Find me Monday night - I'll buy you a beer. I'm back from my 2000 mile CO to IL to CO venture and flying back on Monday to Chicago, then Amtraking it down to Rantoul. ----- ~~~Michael
  7. Give me $99 and i'll jump it in your honor. (Thats if it really drops jumpers....) Oh sunny one...how anal am I with my verification process? ----- ~~~Michael
  8. Can I go with you? Cute southern belle to exit the jet with...I'm game ----- ~~~Michael

  11. People are just pissy in general. Some just take it to a new level ----- ~~~Michael
  12. Well, you're gonna be able to (FINALLY)...The FAA has signed off on the final pieces that need the I's dotted and T's crossed...Get your ass to Rantoul as you can get your tickets there. Kick ass & Thanks to all who have dedicated their time and efforts to making this happen. And...if you happen to meet Dixie from the Springfield FAA office? Well, get down on your knees and kiss her feet. She has put forth a tremendous effort to make this happen for all of us...and she's not even a skydiver. ----- ~~~Michael
  13. I will probably be passing a hat at some point when i get back next week as there are a few individuals outside of the skydiving world that deserve our gratitude. ----- ~~~Michael
  14. yes - the ultimate signoff will be a one time field sign off for this aircraft. Since only 10 of this type were built and this (I think) is the only one in the states, this will be the only aircraft of this type rated for jump operations. ----- ~~~Michael
  15. The jet is awaiting the official rubber stamp at this point so the ink is not dry so not saying 'confirmed' yet, but all things point to go. Read the thread in bonfire for the most recent update from today. Please continue this discussion there so it's all in one spot. ----- ~~~Michael
  16. Chatted with the operator today regarding the noise abatement flights this morning and...well, Quote from Pat Conaster - "We will be flying jumpers Friday morning, we're just waiting for the final seal of approval from the FAA." So, we're waiting on the official rubber stamp at this point and that's it. Personal frustrations venting now - have some issues at home so I'm turning around in the morning and driving back to Colorado to get things situated, but don't fret, I'll be back on the 24th (already booked tickets)...might need someone to find the train station in Rantoul and come pick me up. ----- ~~~Michael
  17. Geek. Micheal bites the heads off live chickens? Kewl! Today as in right now? yes...Read my next post for updates (good) and personal frustrations . ----- ~~~Michael
  18. I couldn't find my hat so if you're looking for me in Rantoul, don't look for the hat as I don't have it with me.
  19. The helo that will be at the WFFC this year will be the NBC helo that was at the event last year. ----- ~~~Michael
  20. Thank you... ----- ~~~Michael
  21. OK...here's what I've got. Was going to post this earlier while tooling through Kansas on I-70, but got stopped at a drug checkpoint and I got 'randomly' selected to have my entire vehicle gone thru. Geez...how many drug smugglers do you know that have 2 laptops going in the car and a 3rd in the bag? Anyway, the test flights from Saturday went well and results were put into the FAAs hands in San Diego Monday morning 9AM local. Today (Tuesday for those who are not still up), the operator will be doing some noise abatement flights with the FAA monitoring the noise. Flights will be done with the door on and off and will include a 300 kts flyby at about 500'. I was under the impression that this was already done on Saturday, but I was wrong. Regardless, the Jet will arrive in Rantoul on Thursday so keep your fingers crossed that all goes through! ----- ~~~Michael
  22. Not yet. ----- ~~~Michael
  23. This is what I have been told as well, pending the FAA of course. ----- ~~~Michael
  24. Doesn't cypres have some sort of loaner program? It might be if yours is in for service though. ----- ~~~Michael
  25. No worries. I'll be around till the 28th and you can find me either in the web trailer up by manifest, on my cycle, or in the air. I need to find my hat. Should I pack my kilt? ----- ~~~Michael
