If you signed the contract with them, you're done. It should have an item in there stating that your stuff is your responsibility even if they cut the lock off - so get renters insurance. Sorry, but they may have gotten on you this one. But, still file a police report if they do turn up. ----- ~~~Michael

why no US C130? or C141 or C17??
WFFC replied to Praetorian's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There's a provision, I need to look through a stack of emails for the specific reference to it. But simply, there is an exception if the PR value is great - hence why Apollo 13 was filmed on the vomit comet. ----- ~~~Michael -
Just make sure he doesn't put it on his porn server. That thing gets hammered... ----- ~~~Michael

Relax...It's FedEx... DHL is actually the largest package mover in the world. Bigger does not always mean better (although locally they get stuff to me way before FedEx and UPS) ----- ~~~Michael

Should it be the 'Kerry_Bush' folder? That way, we can delete them both and get a better choice? that would be the joke...the single name usage is a political statement. ----- ~~~Michael

Bytch- Good luck and enjoy the drive! Homecomings are always sweet and waiting to do mine. one more Illinois winter...one more Illinois winter...one more Illinois winter... Justi- How could we forget you? ----- ~~~Michael

Just the quick background on this, when Nextel was growing, they wanted to get the lucrative government contracts and the best way to do that was to build in some serious redundancy. Not many of the other providers did (or do) this. When serious failures happen (like natural disasters), Nextel is sometimes the only one that can be up and running quickly. (how I know - researching new cell service for the company I used to work for) ----- ~~~Michael

I always take a small flashlight and wear a protec helmet. (small as in one of the 6" 2 AA ones). Take two large rubber bands and knot them together, repeat so you have two. Thread them through the protec and attach to each end of the flashlight. Right before exit, turn the flashlight on. When I say right before exit, I mean your head is out the door so you don't blind anyone behind you. Exit. Now, where ever you look, the flashlight goes. It's bright enough to be useful for a canopy check, but not bright enough to be a nusiance. ----- ~~~Michael

Anyone wanna help with an internship in their company?

Hmmmm...Dress code here says that I have to be wearing one article of clothing while participating in a conference call. Doesn't say which one either. ----- ~~~Michael -
Hmmmm...I've had my hands all over that... The necklace that is... ----- ~~~Michael

It was Sami and Lucas - fantasizing about eloping in Vegas. Lucas was in Elvis garb, Sami, in a goofy dress. The shot was basically a quick 'let's take the leap' shot out of a plane and then both crashing through the roof of the chapel. Kate ends up dead on the floor with Sami proclaiming 'hey, it's my fantasy too'. ----- ~~~Michael

Took out a golden retriever that had inadvertently gotten up on an elevated portion of I-70 going through Denver. Quick options were to swerve (taking out a Geo Metro and possibly get taken out by the 18 wheeler behind me) or just hold the wheel and take the 'bump'. I stopped up the road and the trucker stopped too. Checked out the car and nothing was wrong. The trucker was kind and reassured me that the move was right and the dog was in the wrong place at the wrong time and the possible outcomes if I had swerved could have resulted in serious personal injury. One of those situations that's out of your control that makes you not feel so great afterwards. {{{{{{{VIBES}}}}}}}}} ----- ~~~Michael

That's just wrong. I'm assuming there was no unrest in the family other than the nurse? ----- ~~~Michael

The story behind the famous Vietnam War execution photo
WFFC replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
It's amazing when the Paul Harvey version of the story comes out. It always shed's a light on what really was. ----- ~~~Michael -
IMHO, it might be worth just asking the question. Find a lawyer that does tenant/landlord law and just the legal opinion. Hell, we spend a ton of cash on a cypres that we hopefully never use, but nonetheless, we're prepared if we need to. So, be prepared for what to expect than not is my 2.5 cents adjusted for inflation. ----- ~~~Michael

Let me know how to get it and I'll hide it somewhere for you. ----- ~~~Michael

Psssst...Colorado doesn't have huricanes... ----- ~~~Michael

Very cool. I believe that Ralph got your number that night around the campfire at the WFFC? I'll encourage him to contact you once he starts the big project. ----- ~~~Michael

There's the term 'Flag' and the term 'Banner'. A flag is not supposed to touch the ground. A Banner that represents a flag is allowed to touch the ground. Ralph jumps a banner that represents the USA flag. The current weight configuration on it is not conducive to catching it (35 lbs on the front). But it is scooped up pretty quickly after touchdown. Streaker did an excellent job communicating this in the spectator area during the WFFC this year. ----- ~~~Michael

Not sure of the exact size of Ralph's, but pretty soon, that will be the 'small' one. ----- ~~~Michael

IVPC (Illinois Valley Parachute Club) held the honor for many years. I remember coming home for a visit and heading out to jump from 9500' for 6$. It's currently $9 but will probably be changing shortly to come in line to what it actually costs to run the plane, but still at a discount. ----- ~~~Michael

Takes two people to do it right, but wrap the cat up in a towel. ----- ~~~Michael

Colorado is not a huge DZ.com state so there are probably a lot that didn't even know you were in town. ----- ~~~Michael

I tried to get this mentioned during safety day at my old DZ a few years ago, but it didn't fly. Go to the world of scuba and what's the universal sign for 'I'm OK' from a distance? Not to hard to spot and it's universal for one sport, why not adopt it here? ----- ~~~Michael
