same here, it's kinda nice now that it's not such a free for all. I think it would depend on the situation. If it looked like the person was intentionally inflating the #'s and running around giving advice on how to hook turn, then I'd be yelling BS from Announcements to Error and Bug reports. I'd second that. The last logged in time doesn't hold a lot of value (IMO) and also could be a way to stalk (although I dunno if the invisible option will carry over) .BESIDES, your post is right there, with a timestamp anyways. it would stand to reason that you are logged in when you make the post. just a thought, but instead of registered date, how about a title instead? True, but jump #'s and years in the sport don't always tell the whole story either. People take time off the sport for various reasons(injuries, family, etc), jump more in some years than in others.... What about USPA's questions for license renewal? # of jumps #of jumps last year # of years in the sport I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply there was a rock solid connection between credibility and post #'s cause there isn't. You can sorta get an idea about how long someone's been here and subsequently their knowledge of the sport, but it's still up to me to investigate further if someone is talkin outta their ass or not. It's a barometer so to speak. can I say for sure that it's going to rain just cause the pressure is lower than 30? no, not for sure, but a good chance... To be sure, I'd have to stick my head outside and see if it gets wet (reminds me of the boy scout barometer) Also, I don't always have a lot of time to read everything (unlike the past). I hate to admit it, but I do tend to skip over a lot of newbie threads, mostly cause it's stuff that's been talked about before (again and again), especially in TB. At other times, it is a way to see who is a new jumper in my area. I'll read a thread and notice a new person and see that their a "newbie" and is jumping at my dz and make a note to try n say hello if I see them in real life. Lastly, and off topic, I miss the titles from a historical perspective. It was a fun to see what some of the old PW's new titles would be. Heck, there's even threads about it. I brought up the user credibility thing cause I've read that it was being considered in some form as a replacement. I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. will there be some thing to replace them? What I'm getting at is, what are the plans for a user credibility rating system like has been talked about. I do have to say that I will miss the titles. Can't really say cause I pack for myself. I'll use a packer once in a blue moon if I REALLY want to get on sunset or something. If given the choice, I'd probably try coaching. That way, I wouldn't have to give all my time to the sport (which I can't anyways) while still being able to give back to the newer jumpers, and hey, a free jump every now n then would be pretty cool ;) Besides the fact that I'm no where near the #'s to be an AFFI or TM.
