Well the outdoor tunnel didn't work out too well for him. Not to say that the place was a bad tunnel just don't think it was for beginners. He spent more time on the net than in the air. They gave him a VHS, lol that he let me see. He just refuses to relax. Since then he's been up to Sky Venture in NC and then he went to the Drop zone in Raeford. He did okay enough to pass to level 4 where he's at now. I think he like going to the indoor tunnels better than he like going skydiving. I think my buddy is tuning into what some jumps call a "tunnel rat." I guess everything is working out for him. Thanks for all the advice. - Knic

I end up going with a mix of new and used gear. New container and reserve. Used main and AAD. I am glad that it's all over. Too much searching and a lot of reading. I didn't really like shopping around but I'm glad i did. Should i decide to downsize after a few hundred jumps hopefully the experience will be easier. I attempted learned to pack by shadowing the packers at my DZ. They were pretty fast and i didn't really pick up too much. I ended up asking on of my AFFIs to run me through a pack class. He did it free of charge and didn't mind any of my questions. I jumped my first pack job and survived! Glad i payed attention. You should defiantly ask around you DZ for assistance. The beer may be a good incentive. - Knic
