You will find that at small, Cessna DZ's this happens more often than at the larger, turbine DZ's. It's unfortunate that these things happen but the fact is: tandems keep the planes flying.

I was jumping by myself at SDD when a fun jumper asked me who I was jumping with and what I was doing... I told him I was just gonna jump by myself, working on my sit... he offered to jump with me... It was awesome, the jump was amazing and fun. The staff and facilities at Skydive Dallas are excellent, the planes are well maintained and their system for manifesting for jumps is amazing. All in all, I wish the dz were closer to my home, I would jump there all of the time. For now, I will jump there as often as I can.

If Skydive San Marcos had the $99 special on Labor Day Weekend for several years prior to Skydive Temple having the boogie then maybe..... just maybe.... SDT is trying to steal away SDSM's fun jumpers for the holiday weekend.... I'm just sayin... Everything isn't always what it appears to be... -

Yeah, guess it would be a bit to dangerous to argue over who was having which special or what boogie while you are dismantling IAD's and other bombs in Afghanastan... Are night jumps out of the question? I guess so, you probably dont have your gear there since you are living in a tent in the desert. Hoping you can make up for lost jumps when your duty is done over there... be safe, my friend, blue skies. Hopefully we will have all of this sorted out, stop the name calling and pettiness and just get back to the love of our sport... jump, jump, jump. A friend told me the other day, "some people can take a really fun sport like skydiving and ruin it with drama and politics"... -

No, we Anvils have worked other boogies at Spaceland... The original Deadman Boogie was planned under an oak tree (with a few twelve packs of beer) on the grounds of Skydive Houston... then executed that same year and the following year. Then, I convinced them to come and check out this small Cessna 182 dz in Salado, Texas where the vibe was good for DMB III... it was such a success last year that we are holding it there again this year. To clarify: This is the Fourth Annual Deadman Boogie hosted by the Texas Anvil Brothers. The first two were held at Skydive Houston in Waller, Texas. Last year the Deadman Boogie III was held at Skydive Temple in Salado, Texas. Everyone had such a good time that the Anvil Brother's voted to have it at SDT again this year. In speaking with Paul Illingworth (DZO) at SDSM they also had the specail rate that they are offering during Labor Day this year on Labor Day last year. Thumper MOFO Anvil Brother -
I love Skydive San Marcos... its an amazing dropzone, well maintained with the friendliest manifest girls around. Safety is a priority to the staff which makes me feel good about jumping there. Even though they have lots of tandems they still make room for fun jumpers by flying both the otter and the caravan when needed. The DZO, Paul Illingworth and his wife are really amazing, always nice and make me feel welcome when I drive down from Houston for a weekend of skydiving. I love their very clean and comfortable bunk house. They charge $10 nightly but its cool and comfortable and right next to the fun jumper packing room so it is convenient. Swimming in the pool at night with a beer with my skydiving buddies is always fun after a long, hot day of skydiving. The parties and boogies, which I have attended many are amazing and INSANE! It's really a cool dropzone to visit or to call home.

Actually, it will be my second but... I might want someone to hold my hand on the walk to the plane, in the plane, etc... its gonna be dark, ya know... haha... except for all of those glow sticks..

Skydive San Marcos (Luling, Texas) is holding night jumps on Saturday, July 24th... have to have a B license and meet the requirements of the SIM, including making one jump during the day... anyone interested in joining me? I need someone to hold my hand.
