I agree that the thread looks like it might be being hijacked from it's original intent, however I think people (including myself) are unsure of what types of skill levels will arive, and are trying to think of fun things that involve everyone. I plan on having a fun time no mater what kinds of jumps I'm on, as long as no one makes me jump solo! I'm scared of jumping alone!('cept on hop & pops of course, and Perris does have that really nice pond!) I know! How about a 6 way with 3 hangers, and then we break the 6way round, and turn it into a zipper, then back to a round? Done it, looks nice on video. Or a 4 way with two hangers, break the round, sink one 3 way piece down so the flat flyers dock on the top 3 way hanger's feet. Looks real nice on video.

I don't think there is one right answer, just the one that is right for you. Let me point out two thoughts that make my decision. 1) I do not believe that I should jump a main that I can not land with risers. (Exception for me being Tandems) 2) Your reserve is not just your second option, its your LAST option. I would land it if it passes my control check. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Well since we don't have an official rule book, I think we are open to interpritation. Questions to be answered: 1) Is flat flying included in freeflying? I say yes, as freeflying is being a TOTAL body pilot. (look at the millenium award) It's all good to be able to fly like a maniac on your head, but flat flying is a freefly skill too. 2)Are we going to include HYBRIDS in to the freeflying catagory, or are they their own catagory. The example you mentioned would be in most peoples books, a freefly jump. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I'm thinking Hybrid is going to be the safest way to do this. And we can probably acomplish it bigger and better, including as many of the low timers as possible. It's gonna rock.

ZP is just that, for its life. Unless ZP is damaged (i.e. holes, tears) it is Zero Porosity. The coating will take on a softer less slippery hand, but will not change in porosity. The changes in flight are trim issues. Anyone who has jumped a freshly relined canopy can point this out to you. It is not out of the question to see a canopy with well over 2000+ jumps to be perfectly airworthy after a reline, and with some of the new line types, relines are not a concern for many more than the industry standard practice of 400-600 jumps. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. That's a pretty large step (165 to 116) I'd recomend going to no less than a 134 Batwing, and suggest a 153, because of the radical difference in planform. And with as cheap as Batwings can be had for now, you can by 3 or so for the price of one brand new canopy. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
