I'm already doing most of that for her And with that, this thread should be over. Everyone out classed by the best. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

You left off the option "They are an evil blight, and should never EVER be allowed to be worn in a dirt dive." ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I know. Big deal. Except it is because I've never lived anywhere where it does snow! I'm sure I'll get over it shortly, but for now.......Colorado rocks! (SoCal and Davis don't count as that's exteme weather there)

Follow the manufacturers instructions. DO NOT take advice from jumpers who don't on this till you have alot more experience, time, and knowlage about gear. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Not taking into account where the floaters will be relative to the formation later in the skydive, I still think the front float needs to make the bigger push, and rear needs to drop off. If you reverse it, then center and rear must each cross through front floats burble to get to clean air, vs. the front float taking the "clean" air and making the most of it. Now where it really gets fun is when you become less conventional minded about it and float, oh.....say....7 to 9 people! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. When it comes to a fully integrated and optioned student rig as advertised, I think Mirage has it, with their RTS. That said I haven't seen EVERY manufacturers version of student rig. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Condition. I was in a Pawn Shop yesterday and saw a Kimber Eclipse Pro II for a pretty danm good price, and while I probably won't pick it up for a lack of "play" money right now, I started wondering, how can I ensure I'm not getting a peice of crap? What kind of things does one look for? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

But I think a lot of non-wingsuit jumpers really don't understand how much flying control you have in a wingsuit. They get very paranoid about you being anywhere near their airspace, the same as they would if someone was doing a normal skydive right on top of them. I'd imagine that if you buzzed or do a flyby on one of them, you could easily cause grief for other wingsuiters at your DZ. I think the other side of that coin is having some wet behind the ears 250 jump wonder telling me as a 4000 jump + TI how much "control" he/she has. Same rules apply as in all skydiving, get known, and have your skills know gradually, and things will happen smoother. When I show up at a new DZ, I fully expect to have to "prove" myself in more ways than one before people will truct my abilities like they do at the "home" dz. BTW, I have over 400 wingsuit jumps on just about every wingsuit type (except the jii-wing damnit!) and I owuld NEVER buzz someone without their knowlage. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. gear for sale on Dropzone.com
diablopilot replied to thomas63's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
In all reality a 1990 Manufactured reserve, for example, doesn't hold very much value compared to current 2006 retail rates. The first thing to remember when pricing used gear is not to use retail pricing as a guide to market value. At the least you need to knock 20% off of that as that's what just about everyone has access to new gear for. Then there is the type of gear in question. Racers, for example again, tend to hold far less value than other more main stream manufacturers. A main canopy design that is no longer manufactured will probably also be less than markatable. Here's the point. What do you want? Is the gear better served sitting in your closet if it doesn't fetch high dollars, or would you rather have a reasonable amout of cash in your pocket. BTW, I've found you can sell used gear for more in person on a DZ then you ever will on DZ.com. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -

That's fine and understandable. We try new things in the sport slowly because we ARE scared. Just don't forget to learn it. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
