    I really don't know what this myth about FT's and freeflying not going together is all about. I have no problem with it.     I've sent more than 200 Cypres units to SSK for servicing. The testing does take 2 weeks, some testis include more than a full day in a cold chamber, and again a spell in a heat chamber. The testing is pretty much a rebuild of the entire unit. This is a bit dated as it applies to a Cypres 1 but: http://www.cypres-usa.com/english_maintenance.pdf http://www.cypres-usa.com/The_philosophie_of_reliability.pdf One thing your rigger may not have told you is SSK will return a unit the same way shipped. So if you want to cut the wait down to about 2 weeks, ship it Next Day Air, and they will return the same. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     What is the point of having a removable ring sight when you have a snag factor like that top mount stills? When did it become acceptable to have such snag happy helmets, and how wide a video camera is going to have to be before they realize that they are not side mountable any more? Like your enthusiasm, but the implementation seriously leaves something to be desired. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    Watched nearly the same thing happen at Perris a few years back. Visiting Brit student cutaway because of turbulence and was saved by bottom skin inflation only, suffering a broken lower leg. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    Maybe it's just the way I read it, but the RWS/UPT manual seems to mean to me they are REQUIREMENTS as a condition of holding and maintaining a rating. Not just a guideline, or suggestion.

    Yes I have, and I had no trouble figuring that it attached to the hand mount the same way it attached to a helmet. Since people seem to be demanding visuals that can double as an audible, then they have to compromise. You want a hand mount? Buy one. L&B is in the top three customer service companies in skydiving by my book. Try talking to them about your complaint, I'll bet they make you happy. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    Judging by what I see of newer jumpers habits today, getting on the airplane with loose legstraps, never once looking out the door to see where they are until jumprun, having helmets out of reach, etc., I have strong doubts that some would be able to get out of the aircraft before my student and I do in the event of an emergency even if I'm sitting BEHIND them. If you want to address safety, start there. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
