  7. Well you might want to read it again. Let me ask you this, have you ever read the waiver pre-surgical? Take a look at my posts. There could have been something wrong that was underlying. You again are making the assumtion that this stuff is fool proof, it is not. Humans and dogs are at risk of dying anytime they are put under. Just cause he "thinks" there was nothing wrong with the dog, there is no way to know 100% for sure before surgery. Things are just not caught. This isnt just with dogs this is with humans too. There is a reason you sign the anesthesia waivers. There is no reason to jump the Vet in this case from what I can see. Magic is upset and rightfully so, he lost a companion. But nothing he has said has lead me to believe there is negligence here. She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto

  12. It is understandable you are hurting, and your first instinct is to blame the vet. But take a quick second and breathe. With any anesthesia there is always a risk of having a reaction, there is a risk that the estimated dosage for ANYONE, be it human or animal could possibly not jive with what that beings metabolism can process. This isnt really an exact science, though they have gotten it close. You are assuming that the puppies heart failed due to over anesthesia, but you are not also factoring in that it could have had a defect that the tests don't show. I have two dogs, one spayed one neutered, one of them also had to go into major surgery for her knee. I myself have had to get put under 2 times, once for ACL and once for shoulder. Each and every time you sign a waver explaining that there is a risk of possible death with being completely put under. The waivers were really no different, the ones I signed for myself, and the ones I signed for my dogs. Like the ones we sign when skydiving, we are made aware of the possible risks. There can be a lot of contributing factors that caused the death. But it is always easier to assume blame to someone then look at the big picture. For some reason in the human mind this eases pain...though it then harbors more anger towards someone instead of healing the pain of what was lost. I understand fully you are in pain, you have EVERY RIGHT to hurt, you lost a baby. But blaming doesnt do much good for anyone. But feel free to be sad and upset she is gone.... 13. I hate to say this, but you are being a bit emotional. I know it sucks, but you remember that paperwork that was signed informing you of the possible risks of surgery? That is if you dropped her off, if not then I will explain. Anytime any living being put under there is always a risk of dying, thats why there is a waiver signed informing you of this. Sometimes the little underlying problems that have not surfaced will be effected enough by being put under to finally surface at the wrong time. This is no different for humans or animals, actually it is harder with animals cause they cannot talk. Do not blame your vet, this was not done on purpose and it happens. If you have concerns you can maybe see if this has happened here on a regular basis, but suing is probably going a bit overboard. 21. The Synth has gotten lighter, but still heavier then down, but the key thing between synth and down. If synth gets wet it will still insulate, where as if Down gets wet it looses its ability to keep you warm. All in All warmth, down will always be a smidge warmer, but you to weigh in the elements too. If you use REI.com, you can scroll down and they will give you full specs on the bag. This will include weight, length, width, hip width etc. to give you and idea here are two REI -5 bags, one Down Specs: REI Kilo Plus -5 Sleeping Bag - Women's Regular Specification Description Comfort rating -5 degrees Fahrenheit Average weight 2 lbs. 8 oz Shell Polyester ripstop Fill 750-fill goose down Lining Polyester taffeta Fits up to 5 ft. 6 in. Shoulder girth 56 inches Hip girth 52 inches Stuff sack size 8.25 x 18 inches one Synth Specs: REI Zenith -5 Sleeping Bag - Women's Regular Specification Description Comfort rating -5 degrees Fahrenheit Average weight 3 lbs. 14 oz. Shell Nylon ripstop Fill Polyester Lining Nylon taffeta Fits up to 5 ft. 6 in. Shoulder girth 58 inches Hip girth 57 inches Stuff sack size 9 x 20 inches The one I have is simlar to Northface Cats Meow Mine is just a few years old, and petite in length. There really is a lot of information on REI's site, make use of it. But I still stand by what has been said, this really is something you need her to be there for, get in the bags and try them on. I just grabbed a -5 as an example, again it is personal choice to how warm to go. But what ever you do, do not go what you think what will be the coldest you will need, as mentioned there are liners. Layering is always better, sweating is not so good especially if there is a risk of cooler temps. 22. See that is a personal preference. I have a Northface synthetic mummy bag that I love!!! Infact it is also a petite bag for 5'4" and under. I happen to fit in this bag perfectly. If I point my toes with my head in the hood, it is snug. The thing about mummy bags, if you are a side sleeper you need to get adjusted to not being able to actually curl up "Inside" the bag. You have to move the entire bag with you. This is something else you shoud consider for your wife, does she want to actually be able to be knees to chest balled up "inside" the bag? Like Lisa mentioned, these are confining and that is not an option. She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
