One other thing to possibly point out not only for you but other smaller jumpers with bigger rigs. If you have a harness that the chest strap comes up to your head/neck...if you have a hard ass opening, you can run the risk of breaking your neck Properly fitting gear is a safetly thing. Yes most of the time as students short torso's hve issues with the student gear fitting. I was lucky as I jumped at at DZ that had small rigs too! So I didnt have to worry about it, but it can happen with gear that is too big. There are multiple things that can cause problems with seeing handles....Mine hide under my chest. Helmet or not I cannot see my handles. This scenario is not going to be the same for everyone. I primarily wear a full face, but am aware of the lowered vision, once im in clear airspace the visor is opened to avoid issues with fogging etc. I tool the time to learn and understand both on the ground and in the air where my handles sit. Under canopy i always see where they sit while fully under harness. I also do have to add though I have a small MLW there is no space between my laterals, reserve/cutaway and my chest strap. So it is pretty easy to determine where the handles are, right below my chest strap. Chest is a big help here, cause i can usually feel where the chest strap is or see it, giving me a good point to find handles. Yes I have had one chop live, and do a practice chop on the ground before each reserve repack, having two people life me tight into the harness. No I do not look for my handles.... my .02. You can always plan ahead for this stuff and see. Have someone hold you up by your risers and see what you can and cannot see with the helmet on. I have to agree here with Ltdiver. The ligaments will never heal, and at some point with all the dislocations you are going to do serious damage to your shoulder. It is a very complext joint, one not to be fucked with. If it contiunes enough, you can and will do permanent non-repairable damage. READ: FUCKED for LIFE. I had to have my shoulder fixed, May 20th it was done. Im out most of the season, but I know that It will not dislocate on me now. Editied to add...im not sure what exactly is wrong with your shoulder, but if it is loose they can do a capsulization (sp?) where they tighten down the ligaments in your shoulder. This is what happend to me. I have a genetic trait which causes me to have very flexible ligaments. Thus allowing them in acute incedents to stretch out WAY to much. This is what happend to me, causing my shoulder to sit half sublexed out of the shoulder (out of the socket half way) This was fixed by anchoring down 3 of the ligaments and tightening down the shoulder capsule. If I were you I would talk to another doc for a second opinon. Thing big picture. Do search for my shoulder threads....there are a few. Just a thought...but could it be that fact that you are happy and secure...and that is appealling. That is hard to find They are picking up on all the positive stuff you are dishing out. However some people have no issues on playing with others toys, or taking others toys for that matter. There are a lot of people in this world that hold the attitude that they will do as they please no matter who it hurts....and that makes me angry. Have to say I'm with you on that Mar. Ladies I also agree here. I have tried to look past the past...and in 98% of the time, the same shit happend again... I would be very very cautious of them, if they truly showed me that they are making changes in their lives, and things of late have changed I would definaly look at that too.
