Has anyone noticed that this bill is being written, and controlled by a legislative branch which has a lower approval rating then Bush. The congresses approval rating is down to friends and family..

I just heard Obama blaming this whole mess on Bush. Well part is true,but let us take into account that it was Clinton who signed in NAFDA and it was the Democrats who pushed for lower home requirements. Thus flooding the market with high risk home buyers and dramatically raising housing prices. The Democrats intentions were good but they did not foresee the banks greed or altering supply and demand . Lets not forget that bail out passed by the Democratic house and senate a short while ago which gave away 350 billion dollars. Bush signed the bill so we blame him?...........Blue Skies

The poor buy less and the rich buy way more,that is the fairness of this idea.Ask any poor person if he would like to contribute and most would reply yes. Exclude food that you purchase( like they already do). Why are there less incentives in our system now?. The very tax that bush lowered is one example. If that investment tax was dropped zero, What do you think it would do to stimulate our economy? Taxing the rich and supporting freeloaders on social programs,Simply penalize people who are successful and rewarding people for doing nothing.. You call that incentive?........Blue Skies!

China subsidizes their manufactures steel cost. What does this mean to our manufactures? Our tax structure in America needs a total overhaul.Why? It is set up with loop holes and in a way that discourages investment. I think a consumption tax would be the fairest way.if everyone paid a 10% tax on every good purchased, and eliminated all other taxes we would avoid cheating With our ability to track virtually anything, this would be a simple way to eliminate fraud. This way the wealthy people of America will pay their fair share without discouraging others from getting rich.. Just a thought..

In the Senate itself, a long sheaf of amendments to the bill were set to come up for a vote, including McCain's attempt to strike out a "Buy American" clause, which U.S. trade partners have branded as protectionist. _________________________________________________ McCain is a fool and i for one am happy that guy lost.When he supported that big giveaway to the banks, that was enough for me. We need to have a trade war with China. that would be the best stimulus this country could get. Blue skies!

Your side LOST the election - get over it. ___________________________________________ So this is the way to justify throwing in 50 years of wish list spending bills and all in the name of bailing out the economy..lol what a joke.Would you spend money this way in your house?Our kids have to pay for the spending spree. and notice how they rush em through so fast just like the banking bail out.

I am so sick and tired of one side blaming the other and here is another case of it. All this does is distract us from the real issues.It takes both side to balance out the spending bill.I am an independent and i look from the right place , and thats in the middle without the political distractions of Republican vs. Democrat. If both sides concede, then it might be a more balanced bill.

I can't think of a single benefit to such an action, but I can think of ENORMOUS drawbacks. ______________________________________________ What are you saying? That because war is so bad that we should not even be prepared for its occurrence?That we should just let other countries do our manufacturing because its beneath us?Is there any particular reason why you think China is our ally? I can tell you that they are not are friends and their trading policies towards us is hostile and cut throat.

Not too many people have the education & skills to do molecular biological research. But a much larger number of people have the skills to do routine assembly line work. ___________________________________________________ You sir have been in the books too long and out of the real world . Think about this . Bio-tech jobs can be out sourced to India and ect.In fact they already do Making your so-called high paying job worth less.I own a cnc machine shop and i can build almost anything and out of almost any material.I can make cars, planes or guns. and hold .0003 of an inch. i have to understand alot more then you are giving me credit.i design and build.and i am becoming a thing of the past. China's trade policies are hostel to manufacturers. Now one has answered my question yet. If the U.S. goes to war with china. Who is going to manufacture our goods? China?

Do a poll & find out how many people here are employed in a manufacturing-based profession. My guess is most people are not. __________________________________________________ I have a good idea , lets export our manufacturing and take up bio-tech jobs and ect. and if we ever go to war with China we can just ask them to make our goods. My machine shop Can't buy the raw steel as cheap as China can buy our scape steel, ship it to china, manufacture the product and ship it to us.and why? China subsidizes their steel and they have slave labor wages . sounds like fair trade to me..

It is business, small business that this company needs up and running. They employ the majority of the people in this country. __________________________________________________ the one thing that may save up with the package is the proposal to keep the money spent in America. Has anyone noticed that big companies like Catapillar and G.E.are the ones complaining about that part?Why does our country export the very thing that bailed us out of the great depression?Manufacturing.
