  2. Wooohooo!! Another one! Good job at saving your ass. I just had my first last Friday. I think there were more cutaways in the past week than I've seen in a while. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  3. Yup that's actually my plan. Jumping my ass off on Sunday and then taking the g/f and dogs to the beach. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  4. BWAHAHA!! I totally forgot all about this thread. I'm still on level 8 Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump

  6. It started off being a 3-way FF jump. I waved off at 3500 and pitched immediately following. When I looked up to grab the risers, I noticed that I had a couple of line twists. I started to kick out of them immediately while the canopy was almost inflated. It was apparent immediately that this was not working as the lines started to wind up even more. Within just a few seconds, I was being swung around on my back and at that point I realized that this was it. This was gonna be my first chop. Look red, reach red, look silver, pull red, reach silver, pull silver. My protrack says I deployed at 2600' and I'm not sure what I was at when my reserve opened, but I'm positive it wasn't much less than that - maybe 2000 feet. A few things I'd like to share about this. Before this happened, I was starting to wonder if when the time came to chop I would panic or handle it like I have practiced the past two years. It happened so fast. Muscle memory at it's best. I wasn't scared and I KNEW that I had another option. It didn't take long to figure out that I was not going to land this mess and that I had a second option. The thought of "I hope my reserve works" didn't even enter my mind - as it had before when I was to think about cutting away. It might have been because it opened so quick (not painful, but quick) or it might have been that I was just so concentrated on getting rid of my main and getting my reserve out. I remember cursing out loud several times that the freakin thing had pissed me off enough to cut it away, but then remembered that I was under my reserve and got grateful really quick. A couple things I learned from this - add "save handles" to my emergency procedures when I practice them - "pull and save" :) Check my altimiter next time before and after cutting away. I knew that I was high, but next time the situation might be different. I also think that I might have been kicking in the wrong direction, as my canopy has always had the same twist direction, and maybe it was just muscle memory to start kicking in that direction. I'm pretty sure the twists were from body position or packing or both. Thanks Tim. I owe you a bottle. Thanks Keith for getting me out of a jam at the boogie and getting me back up in the air the next morning. Thanks Gary for helping me look for my gear after watching it fall to the ground. Thanks Geno for letting me use your rig to get back in the air the same day. And thank God, I guess he wants me to stick around a bit longer. :) Jump 322 PD Spectre 190 (yes, they can spin up and throw you for a ride.) PD 193 reserve (made a lovely stand up landing. ) Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  7. HEY!!! It's GRIZZLY ADAMS!!! Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  8. Just tried that. Looks to be just a glorified IP traceroute. Thanks for the suggestion. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  9. Hehe That is what I was planning on doing. Putting an ACL on the router and then hope they call when they don't have Internet Access anymore. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  10. Sure I can, but the last hop would be the cisco switch doing layer 3 routing. the AP and the SU don't route, so they would not show up under a normal IP traceroute. I need something to show me the Layer 2 path that it takes to get to that IP. That will show which SU has the conflicting IP. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! 11. As soon as I get up on Friday, I'm driving up. Maybe by 10 ?? Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  12. And yes, this IP is a public IP address. We don't use private IPs on our network. I work/help part time (read: no pay yet) for a Wireless ISP, so maybe that helps. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  13. Ok, that might have been a little vague...Let me try to explain. Hanging off the Cisco switch is a Trango wireless access point (AP). Connecting to this AP are subscriber units (SU). Basically it's a Point-to-multipoint connection. And the AP and SU are bridges. They do no routing. > Are the routers that each client is behind performing NAT? So behind each SU are clients. Now those clients may have a router (doing NAT) or they may have many routers or just machines with this offending IP address. >Is the MAC address you have that of the router or of the client you are trying to identify. Could be either one. Router or PC. However I did a MAC lookup and the MAC is assigned to Quantum Computers. So I am assuming it's just a PC/Server. >Either way, what ARE you trying to identify if you already have the IP and MAC address? I can only see the MAC off the Cisco port. There are two other Layer 2 devices (the AP and the SU) that are bridging traffic beyond that. I need to find out which SU that MAC address is on. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! 14. Thought I'd run this by you geeks and see if you have a suggestion. I'm trying to track down an IP conflict on our network. Basically the topology is this: Cisco3550---Trango Wireless AP-----Many Subscribers (with their own routers and clients behind those routers) So far I can tell on the Cisco that the MAC is on port Fa0/1 which is connected to this AP. But the APs and Subscriber units don't have a "show MAC table" command or anything similar. However IOS has a command "Traceroute MAC" that seems would work, but it keeps barfing at my source address mac, even though it is correct. Plus it really only is reliable with Cisco IOS devices that support CDP, so trying to find the MAC on the Trango devices might not work too well. I have posted this to the Trango Broadband forums, but have yet to hear anything. Is there any software out there that I can run on a server inside the network that would spit out a Layer2 hop trace ? That would narrow it down to the Subscriber unit and then I can just send them an e-mail and ask WTF !?!? Any suggestions ? Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! 17. This is a common occurence at my house between my dogs. If you listen closely (turn up your speakers) you can hear my older dog, on the right, singing too. I've got several minutes more of this, but this was the best one. Think I got a chance at making it on America's Pet Home Videos ? Sorry, the video is kinda dark... it looked brighter on the LCD thingy... http://www.almgren.net/kayla/SingingDogs.wmv 3.4Mb Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! 19. That's all you had to do was provide a paypal link sent! I'm too lazy to do the work to get there...but a link helps. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  20. You know I have seen that episode, and that is exactly what is going through my head when I think about what this 90 minute presentation will be about. I'm not a pushover for sales tactics, but I can imagine it going on for more than 90 minutes and then the endless telephone sales calls and future correspondence would not be worth saving $200.00 hmm... let me think about this some more. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  21. In my search for cheap park hopper passes to Disney World (got any?) on E-bay, I ran accross this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2248789508 Basically after buying the tickets you have to attend a 90 minute presentation when you arrive in Orlando in order to receive the tickets. Anyone been through any of these things ? Is it worth it ? For this particular set of passes, it's a savings of over $200.00 off the retail price of the passes. Would you do it ? Have you done it ? Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  22. I see nothing there. Check the link. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  23. Is it tomorrow yet ?? Enquiring minds would like to know.. hehe Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  24. How about a paypal account ?? Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  25. Maybe interms of ml per ml. But if you get bit by a bw, your arm will swell and you might get sick, but you most likely will not die. However, if a rattler bit you... you better have a will made up unless you can get medical attention. Now a brown recluse.... those can kill ya! Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah!
