Religiosity attributed to vitamin deficiency
narcimund replied to narcimund's topic in Speakers Corner
What you discount is that I hear that exact theory -- from people like you -- ALL THE TIME. Perhaps you didn't realize that I was EXTREMELY aware of the parallel. Perhaps you didn't realize that I was eager to see how indignant you and your type got. However, the story I told is completely true. First Class Citizen Twice Over -
Are you offering pictures as well or is this just on your word? It might affect the bidding, you know. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Religiosity attributed to vitamin deficiency
narcimund replied to narcimund's topic in Speakers Corner
'fraid not. Like I said, we were just having dinner with our doctor friend immediately after her conference session. I asked her to send us references if she runs across anything published. This is fresh news, I think. At least that's how she represented it to us over dinner. First Class Citizen Twice Over -
Religiosity attributed to vitamin deficiency
narcimund replied to narcimund's topic in Speakers Corner
A physician friend is in town for a medical conference focusing on nutrition and its effects on physical and mental health. At dinner tonight she told us that a particular combination of vitamin deficiencies has been correlated with certain religious enthusiasms. I'm sure it's premature to conclude that all religious faith is simply a mental disfunction caused by poor eating habits, but there's apparently some indication that it's a factor. It's food for thought... literally. First Class Citizen Twice Over -

This has been fascinating to watch. I didn't know there were people who really believed the things you believe. What an eye-opener. First Class Citizen Twice Over

You must be awfully sad that the best defense you can come up with for your republican president is to compare him favorably against a republican congress which itself is pulling only 1 in 5. Talk about faint praise! First Class Citizen Twice Over

I wasn't asking if the procedure is outlined in an old document. I was asking if it was WISE. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Maybe because those states collectively have fewer people than California. And by what odd fiction would one say a count of STATES is more important than a count of PEOPLE? First Class Citizen Twice Over

Yeah, and while we're on the topic of moldy comparisons and dead horses, I'd like to know why the republicans on dropzone still obsess about clinton. First Class Citizen Twice Over

I see a lot of BC and Alberta culture encouraging contempt for french canada. First Class Citizen Twice Over

And probably likewise, french people move away or just don't move to Alberta or BC because of hostility or (more likely) because nobody speaks French here. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Not pointlessly bloodthirsty enough, Bill. If you want to be believed you have to rant about the joy of shooting people in the head and avenging the deaths of innocent americans with the deaths of innocent canadians. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Wow. With mature analysis like this how could the US possibly be at a disadvantage? First Class Citizen Twice Over -
No, it's wasn't a typo. All the news sources were quoting the Fox poll at 32%, but fox itself was reporting 33%. I looked for a higher precision number and couldn't find one so I figured I'd use the highest published number. I give the benefit of the doubt whenever there is some. Unfortunately it didn't prevent me from being called names, but at least none that actually matter. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Actually, I cringe when people call them licenses. They're "proficiency certificates." Licenses are legal permission to do a something. USPA has no authority granted by any legislative body to grant or withhold permission for anything. People only call them licenses because they're used to needing permission to do things. It's bad when even Fox admits he's down to a historic low of 33 percent "approval". Of course you just know they'd manage to spin it with the opening paragraph: Distract, distract, distract... Exactly HOW much can they distract? Well, I'll tell you! By the 4th paragraph they're talking about Angela Merkel's bathing suit. That's how much. First Class Citizen Twice Over

I'd be hard pressed to think of many things I could predict with more accuracy 94 years in advance and all of them are silly and trivial. "Sun will rise." "Moon will revolve." etc. First Class Citizen Twice Over -
We have a 6-foot boa constrictor. One is a fool not to understand and respect the wild animal's nature, but fear is pointless with something so harmless. There's little overlap between scary and dangerous. First Class Citizen Twice Over

Apparently I was off by approximately 10% (according to shropshire.) That seems to indicate that I didn't count. I'm pretty good at estimating word count. It comes with the career track. First Class Citizen Twice Over
