And the DeSaddamize Iraq faction should remember a valuable lesson I learned in my youth - When throwing objects at the peaceniks, keep in mind that potatoes cost less and hurt more! CZ

That ain't right. Obviously the officers in question didn't know any of the many police and rescue personnel killed on 9-11. P.S. - Where is La Habra? CZ

I'm the original RonCo tire alligner/egg scrambler, but am spending the year stapling butterflies to the wall for tax reasons. CZ

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought my post had to do with the figurehead actually performing the duties of the post. You are completely correct - and just as soon as you notice the current president shoving cuban cigars into an intern's holiest of holies, you let me know, and I'll critique such behavior. In the meantime, as far as his job performance goes - I've got no complaints. CZ

"He didn't do such a good job protecting us from 9/11" Seems to me that if your hero Billary Clinton would have done more than tossed a couple rockets into the middle of the desert without utilizing the IC to establish targeting data, then the current president wouldn't have had the impossible task of guessing where the next terrorist strike would be. Until you actually work the issue, don't try to play the expert. I don't publicly scream about the guy who flips burgers if he doesn't grill it to perfection, I don't try to second guess this country's president when he's doing his job, and if that's your bent, then why in the hell aren't you in public office? Good question. You always see vintage planes with the replica paint jobs from whatever period, complete with the "kill" decals, but you're talking about new experimental stuff too. CZ

Gotta have some Triumph in there! Somebody's Out There Somewhere . . CZ

Gotta be a way to set up an Arclight mission that could tag all three on the same run! CZ

I love the shot of the battle ship with a full broad side with the shock waves in the water! I wonder if was a large amount of stunned fish floating around after that..... Not sure if it's true or not, but some sailor told me once that a full broadside like that would push a battleship 26 feet laterally. That's a whole lot of water to move a ship through sideways! CZ

How did I miss the tat picture?! CZ

Amen to that! While we're at it why don't we quit screwing around with a meaningless UN?! CZ

I've had to read that every week for years, and love it. Christian Science Monitor is pretty damned good, too. Mailed out every day, same format every day, and it really doesn't have much of an agenda. CZ

You make some interesting comments about effective argument against some of the respondents up to this point. Maybe you should look into starting your thread with something other than an analogy that really has nothing to do with geopolitical machinations in the real world. If you were trying to get a reaction, you could have just said that you stand for peace in a different way than President Bush plans to attain it. I personally disagree with your point of view, and like to debate these particular points with someone that uses effective debating skills rather than bear-baiting a thread with a pointless quote. Just my $.02. CZ

Dude - sweet popcorn?!! That's just plain nasty! CZ

As far as their military, I've heard that the French Foreign Legion is a hard core bunch. Steve1 Yeah, but isn't the Legion made up of foreigners?! I think only the officers are French by birth. CZ

Should U.S. Troops be removed from around the world?
charliezulu replied to Gravitymaster's topic in The Bonfire
It's not just "them" protecting "themselves" from "each other" that would be at stake. Last I time I looked, an incredible amount of US interest in the form of investments, aid infrastructure, and education are tied up in virtually ALL states in Europe, not to mention most of the rest of the world. I agree that there are a lot of arguments/issues that we really don't have an interest in, and I agree that we shouldn't participate free of charge where we don't have an interest. That being said, there are an awful lot of diplomatic agreements and treaty obligations that require our presence, advice, aid, cash, and willing participation to ensure security in places where US interests are tied into the local infrastructure. CFE Treaty, CWC, and BWC are pretty big on the list, but there are many others. CZ -

Are you kidding? US military presence is controversial in many places, but not necessarily resented by those folks who have actually weighed the consequences of our absence. When you look at anti-american sentiment in general, you find plenty of it right here - would you like the US to pull out of the US? As far as Europe goes, read some of the history from the very end of, and immediately after WW-II, to figure out why we stayed. Those 58 years have not precisely been harmonious. CZ -
Shoot, as long as they're touting that as recycled urine, I'd sell 'em a bucket of mine for half the price! CZ

QuoteThis is a case where a good discussion by several really strong guys with the 200-lb wonder would be a good idea. After all, a good beating isn't going to hurt nearly as much as the eventual biffed landing. No shit! Thump him! Save his life! I wouldn't want to be in the air anywhere near this guy! CZ

I'm looking for the covered up Guernica replica, Bill - where is it. All the coverage is close-up right now. Is it in a separate press area? CZ
