  1. rthis is freaking me out. I didn't bother to search for this topic, so i just put the post up there. What sort of freakish coincedence is it that i decided to post up on "whats your favourite hot sauce?" almost exactly a year to the day the last post of this exact same subject area was put up?! Must be something about this day and having hot sauce on the mind? "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  2. We have a pretty standard set of hot sauces in the UK, i noticed the US tends to have more of a selection, but i have to be honest, none of the "stock" selection of sauces like Louisiana hot sauce, or Tapatioare not that hot in comparison. I usually just go for the standard, West Indian Encona made with scotch bonnet peppers. As far as mass produced items go, it does the job. I once had some of Dave's Insanity Sauce, self described as the hottest sauce in the universe. I actually couldn't eat it, and i love pepper/hot sauce. It seems that the West Indian brands are more fiery than the standard American fare, with the US hot sauces tasting a little "watery", almost like a slighly hotter version of Tabsaco or something? On a side but related note, i like this collection, but i can't quite see the point - i would be too tempted to try them all out. So post up your favourite hot sauce, and what it tastes like. Also, if anyone has tried this, i would love to know what "the worlds hottest hot sauce" tastes like, especially for almost $90 a bottle. "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  3. too long - Sept 6th 2004. Lack of the Let(spoilt i know) + repack + rig repairs + work + general lack of money + unwillingness to spend on credit + new wife + saving for a wedding reception this year abroad + cold, harsh winter nights + being scared into no pension by people from dz.com and trying to put money aside for that = superb lesson in patience. ROLL ON MARCH AND THE RETURN OF THE LET! "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  4. Interesting stuff and i think you're right. More guns = more weapons = more likely to fall into the hands of nutcases who would use them on each other without a seconds thought. I have lived in the US on and off for only 2 or so years (back in the early 2000's) but my feeling was the same. I remember coming back from downtown San Francisco one day from a bike ride i had been on to explore, putting the tv on and seeing an hour earlier (i.e. almost around the same time i was in the area) there had been a police chase with an armed robber and his accomplice, who had been firing out of the window at the cops as they careered through the streets i had been in moments earlier. 5. If that's true, it's appalling. But how would they know if it were true? It didn't mention this was a positive ID on the bomber. Could it just be an example of reverse propaganda? Not saying it's not true, just wondering how they could be so sure etc. Tried to find another news source for this and couldn't.... "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  6. I cannot be the only person that finds this playground philosophy offensive, surely? Suicide CANNOT be defined as “deliberate involving of onself in an action and/ or exposing oneself to a phenomenon that can cause death” as you say, rather it is "the act or an instance of taking one's own life voluntarily and intentionally especially by a person of years of discretion and of sound mind" (Webster). Just because i cross the road, thereby potentially being susceptible to being hit by a car or bus means i'm putting myself in a dangerous position, therefore i'm trying to commit suicide by your reasoning. You say you are a skydiver. You realise then that even if we do everything right on a skydive, we can still die. So how can you post something so insensitive as "people who kill themselves during a parachute jump should be treated as suicides and buried outside the cementaries" even if just trying to provoke "intellectual" conversation? What about people who die trying to save themselves, do they qualify as the suicide squad? When someone doesn't come back from a jump, it is incredibly saddening to those left to pick up the pieces. But according to you, they meant to kill themselves, or that, at least, is something we should consider, due to the fact we are doing something more risky than sitting inside waiting to die, right? And we should throw the idea out there that, even if you don't believe in it, that perhaps those people should be buried "outside the cemetaries"? What sort of "intellectual discussion" are you trying to come up with here? If you truly are a skydiver, i would look at what you are doing in this sport, particularly in light of your reasoning for being here, according to your other post on the foums (wanting to "hurt yourself" because you were dumped in a relationship), and would also think about talking to someone about whats on your mind. I'm done here, i've risen to this way more than i wanted to. "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts

  8. Don't feed the troll. The one other post this person has put up here, in reponse to: "how did you get into skydiving". "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  9. Bboying has actually never gone away, but it went deep back underground until about the mid 90's when it resurfaced in a big way (at least here in Europe). I was wondering when someone was going to post up some of Dave... For anyone interested, Dave "Elsewhere" Bernal is one of the sickest bboys out there. Check out him and his 3 pals in one of the best bboy videos i've ever seen, 'Detours' made some years after he participated in the Kollaboration events. 5 meg preview here... http://www.detoursvideo.com/DetoursExtendedTrails.avi Well edited, shot and simply amazing...well worth the $30, if this is your sort of thing, trust me. 10. Sure.. Stop having more children they can't support to qualify for more welfare. Welfare is a broken system that breeds dependancy. Did you read this bit? "Can you please tell me how someone on a low income (because they have a low paying job, not because they are on welfare), " I put that in to counter the view that you specifically expressed - that all people in these areas are minorities with 9 kids to claim the welfare benefit. How can a single parent, with 1 or 2 children, on a low income, working 2 jobs to support themselves and their children for instance, afford to move away to a more upscale area that perhaps costs 3 or more times what that person currently pays in monthly rent? 11. the thread might be about "why all black people think the man is out to get them" as you put it, but my point was not specific to race - how is that "taking the shit out the box"? The question i asked does not fit to one specific race. "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  12. So are you saying someone forces them to live in a hazardous area? Yes, income is a factor, however if the desire is strong enough I am quite sure they could find a less "hazardous" place to live. Can you please tell me how someone on a low income (because they have a low paying job, not because they are on welfare), supporting a family can move to a more upscale neighbourhood where rent would probably be 3 times what they currently pay, if not more? My question is specific to people on a low income, and not one particular race. Edited to add: if you need some assitance with the answer, you could always go door knocking at Hunters Point in San Francisco and ask people why they choose to live next to a shipyard that is proven to be adversely affecting their health. I personally wouldn't advise this though. "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  13. Since when did living in a nice area not depend on the income one makes? I think it's rather naive to believe people choose to live in an area considered hazardous to one's health. "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  14. what crozby said. Also, let it be known that police now take new data into account when measuring violent crime. "Pushing and shoving" (i kid you not) is now classified as a violent crime. If someone in the street pushes you, regardless of whether you fall over, or merely get pushed back a foot, it's a "violent crime". Hence numbers of "violent crimes" have gone up. What part of London are you from crozby, just out of curiousity? "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts

  16. You should really be carefull with the wording of your threads! lmao nah that was just the hook to get people in. I haven't really done one of these things, and never would. It absolutely goes against my morals, principles and ethics, and the thought of it is abhorant. Now where is that credit card, i must remember to buy that $1,999 $6,500 er diamond, erm thing i needed. "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts

  18. You can buy the real stuff for THAT kind of money! True, but who would want the real thing, when you can get your plastic doll out from under the bed, and er, put her back again, when um, you've finished? Anyone seen Boxing Helena? I'm having deja vu's... "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  19. ok, so no i haven't and part of me is just curious to see how many views this post gets, but seriously, would ya if no one was looking and you had 1.5 mins to kill? PS for those that have no idea what i'm on about, and i'm sure there are a few of you, you can find out more at (NSFW) www.realdoll.com I saw a documentary on these the other night as i was flipping through channels, not that i had circled it in red in the listings or set the video to record it or anything, but anyways yeah, this girl bought her boyfriend one for an anniversary present (never before have i seen such controlled, suppressed joy as he opened the box) and they both "did" her, which was far from arousing viewing, but was pretty damn compelling. Yes, the girl was into it too, it wasn't like she was taking a back seat on the ride, let me tell you. They look kind of freaky to me as in freaky in a weird way, but if one was delivered to the door and was fresh out the box so to speak, i think - if i'm totally honest - curiousity would probably get the better of me. Would you? "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  20. Interesting. PS this topic was inspired by this recent documentary that presented both sides of the fence and was pretty interesting... What Would Jesus Drive? "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  21. wow never heard of such extreme measures being used. Were people not really antagonistic to this change in your borough when it was introduced? Where are you by the way, somewhere in Bristol right? I imagine i would feel exactly how you do (did) about this were it introduced here (currently we have a fortnightly paper pick up and thats it - and i always forget so i end up taking it to the recycling bin myself with the glass). 22. I'm curious to know, what sort of category people fall into (i would imagine we are going to have all types). Do you recycle anything at all, and to what extent? Are you aware of stuff like turning off lights when not in that area of your house/the tap as you brush teeth at the sink etc? Do you drive something of an economical car, or do you drive a gas guzzling monster and take pride in that? Do you think global warming is something of a fallacy or do you scan aerosols before buying them to ensure they are CFC free? Or are you something in between - you sort of know the environment needs to be treated well, and do a little, but can't be bothered to recycle stuff all the time and do a little here and there? I'm just curious to see what peoples views are on this. Thanks "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  23. what checks are made upon a person before they are allowed to carry a concealed handgun? I know it depends on one state to the next, but are there some generic tests that are conducted? How "easy" is it to get one, if you just wanted one, and hadn't been mugged before/were not female etc? There are people who i would have no problem if they carried a concealed gun - they seem responsible, mature, calm people, not quick to get angry and have, like Aggiedave, been on some kind of tactical self defense course etc. There are also WAY more people out there who i think, were they to be allowed to carry a gun, be a danger to themselves and society at large. These are the people you have to worry about. How does one go about assessing who should be allowed to carry a concealed weapon? Also is it mandatory to have gone on weapons training of some kind before a concealed carry permit is issued? "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  24. I'm curious, could you define what those are for me please? "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
  25. Thanks 'dad' Seriously, that was some good advice, as was other stuff in this thread, thanks guys. At the very least im opting back into the pensions scheme here at work, and looking to go back to saving 15% or so of my net salary. "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
