  2. Hey, I need a new gear bag!! What do I need to do? dude you don't know that one?? its like magic fucking magic !!! step 1 you engage in a proper fucking session step 2 you readily take a nap step 3 you wake up to her trying on new a matching purse and boots and your wallet is missing a card and/or all of the cash step 4 repeat step 5 go build a fucking aircraft hanger out in the yard to accomodate the 600 pairs of shoes 960 pairs of boots and 8,000 matching bags/purses or you can sit around and beat off without them...pick your poison I read all your advice, but I still don't see no GEAR BAG in that equation! Sounds like a poes of a deal to me! C'mon, Lucky, what do I need to do for a gear bag??? Oh, and while we are at it, a new Neptune 3 would not be sneered at! I guess that would mean extra effort, though... 'To fly is heaven, to freefall is divine' 'You only need 2 tools. 3. AVG is good. I have been using AVAST for a number of years, and find it excellent as well. It even catches nasties living in songs from Limewire. Do you have any experience or comment re AVAST? Question also asked to normiss. Thanks! 'To fly is heaven, to freefall is divine' 'You only need 2 tools. WD40 for when it doesn't move but should, and duct tape for when it moves but shouldn't'

  7. Is it the drop in air pressure that is responsible for the rather firm outlines? Note to self: Have a good look around the jump plane on Saturday to make sure! 9. Edited to remove indications of strong feelings of support for a fellow skydiver, which were less supportive and more flamelike... Just the bit about the FBI really got my goat Eric, I hope it works out ok with you and that fella! Blues (Take deep cleansing breath and go to fridge...) 61 days.

Got in 2 great jumps yesterday! Bit breezy, but 85 degrees. God bless Texas!! 'To fly is heaven, to freefall is divine' 'You only need 2 tools. WD40 for when it doesn't move but should, and duct tape for when it moves but shouldn't'
  11. Congratulations on your decision to return, Josh! I stopped jumping for 28 years, and restarted a couple of months ago. Quite a bit of it was like riding a bicycle, and the biggest change was in the gear (made my remembrances seem like they came off the Ark!) Your DZ and Instructors will have the answers for you on retraining, and will likely tailor it to your specific needs and progress as an individual. Good luck, have fun and blue skies 'To fly is heaven, to freefall is divine' 'You only need 2 tools. WD40 for when it doesn't move but should, and duct tape for when it moves but shouldn't'

The GA aircraft engine manufacturers had good technology 50 years ago. Like Detroit, they rested on their laurels and invested the minimum into R & D. Hence we have inefficient aircraft engines using ancient technology. Hopefully they will follow old Detroit into the past and make way for future innovations, else most powerplants in this country, like most cars in this country, will soon be imported... 19. You won't forget! You will need some brush-up and procedures recurrence, and when your instructors tell you that you are ready, there you go. I had a longer absence; 27 years to be exact! The biggest change was the gear: gone were T10's and chest-mounted C9 reserves, and Capewells and metal ripcords that you had to hang onto, and packing your parachute in the dirt outside and seeing a cloud of dust and twigs when it deployed on the next jump. Logic says not to get overconfident too quickly, and logic is right. Even after a long absence one's brain/ body still somehow remembers the basics and you can arch and fly the freefall stable. I am trying to build up experience and knowledge slowly and conservatively, jump by jump, without trying to race ahead when things seem to be working well. I figure that in the long run it will still be better progress than reading skydiving articles in traction..... On the bright side, you will be ready for the start of the season! Blue skies and all the best for 2009! 'To fly is heaven, to freefall is divine' 'You only need 2 tools. WD40 for when it doesn't move but should, and duct tape for when it moves but shouldn't'
  20. That was very special. Thank you! 'To fly is heaven, to freefall is divine' 'You only need 2 tools. WD40 for when it doesn't move but should, and duct tape for when it moves but shouldn't'
  21. Great story and a great ending to your 2008! I hope your cancer remission ends in your cancer extermination and you go on to make thousands of future students see their dreams come true... I personally started jumping again after a short break (1981 to 2008 to be exact ), and what a difference from a T10 main and a C9 chest reserve!! Bought my own gear to save on rentals long-term, and a PD Storm 190 which I love so far. Did my first 12-way and SCR, and remain humbled and in awe of the abilities of those so experienced yet still so willing to lend a hand, give friendly advice and include us beginners in their dives. I really look forward to 2009, to great dives, good stories, and building and learning more in this wonderful sport. Blue skies and Happy New Year to all!!! 22. Funny how a thread about profiles turns so quickly into one about stalking Lisa!! 'To fly is heaven, to freefall is divine' 'You only need 2 tools. WD40 for when it doesn't move but should, and duct tape for when it moves but shouldn't'
  23. Hey Josh (see, I read your profile), you gonna need the whole upper deck of that A380 for yourself if you get so mad! Seriously though, you make a valid point. While there are no doubt some who just join the board to troll and can sometimes be identified as such by a total lack of anything on their profile, mostly queries are genuine and can be answered easily and possibly/ probably with something of value to the OP. Hey, nobody is forcing a reader to respond; if someone doesn't agree with the questioners intentions or apparent level of laziness, it's easy to click on to the next post and not comment. The vast majority of folks here are here for the fun and fascination of skydiving, and I for one sure am grateful to all who take the time to pass on their experience and lessons in a friendly and helpful way. So we'll enjoy the thrills and fun of our sport, and leave the profiling to the guys at the TSA. It's their job, after all! 'To fly is heaven, to freefall is divine' 'You only need 2 tools. 25. This thread (and the one that spawned it) started out with a rather unpleasant tone and wasn't much fun to read. It is great to see that folks are back to their happy selves!! From a lot of 'fucking' in the beginning to a lot of 'smiling' at the end.
