I'm surprised anyone weighed-in. Obviously a 'pot stirrer'! Chuck

Real interesting. I wonder... how long before it shows-up on e-bay? Chuck

No matter how you slice it, 'political correctness' is ridiculous! I was raised to be considerate of other's feelings but sometimes, someone's feelings might get hurt. That's just 'life'. People today are just too sensitive because we've been taught that everyone is 'special'. Not true. Everyone 'demands' respect without earning it. People have to work for and earn respect. It's not a birth right. We take ouselves way too seriously and sometimes, you just need to drop your pants and slide on the ice. Chuck

I've said all I'll say on the matter. to recap. (nothing new here) once the guy called the cops, it was between him, the cops and the DZM, I was an observer. We had him convinced to stay the night at the DZ, then he went all asshat and called the cops because he couldn't find his car that was 100yd into the landing area instead of in the middle of the tarmac where people were playing BBall. we pranked him like we might prank each other. He just didn't take it well. Sounds to me like, someone couldn't handle their beer and got a litttle 'tough love'. Chuck

He really is. A lot of fans get down on him but they forget... he won two Stanley Cups for the Wings! He's the most devoted 'team player', I've ever seen. Chuck
-
Wow! The Wings and Av's put on a good show last night! Thank you, Budaj for getting the tripping penalty that led to the Wings win and Ozzie's 400th. win! Ozzie was fantastic. Wings are still, on top in the West. Go wings! Chuck

Thanks! I'll do it! Chuck

I've got some pretty special memories of Oklahoma and a lot of good folks up there. I wish, since the contract for the PRCA Finals in Vegas is up, I wish they'd move the finals back to Oklahoma! It would be more centrally located. Chuck

Oklahoma is... O.K.!

Would they break it or make a 'special' coffin? Chuck

...and the folks who make Viagra are makin' a fortune off the old geezer, too! It's a win-win! I'm fair to certain that he has a closet-full of that stuff...and stock in the company, too...just like I would have if I was in his place. A 4-hr. erection would probably kill him... what a way to go! Chuck

The average good-shoot/no-bill CHL defense in Texas is around $50k. That is $50,000 spent out of your own pocket to go through the inevitable legal process of a criminal investigation and then the inevitable civil suit. That is $50,000 spent out of your own pocket in a situation in which you were justified in your actions, no billed by a Grand Jury and no judgments levied against you in the civil action. Now, to give a little balance to this situation: Police Officers also spend on average $50,000 defending themselves in civil suits (and sometimes at a Grand Jury) when defending themselves after a "good shoot." However, peace officers have the ability to join groups like TMPA or CLEAT who, if you're a member and the action occurred due to being a peace officer, then they will defend you at no cost (besides the yearly membership dues). We were not told that in any CHL classes I attended. It'll make you think. Chuck

You can in Texas. Not self-defense but you are allowed to shoot somebody to protect your property. Even in the back. It's not quite that clear-cut - there are conditions attached to it. If a thief is fleeing, you can only legally shoot the thief in the back if: - It is night time, - The property cannot be recovered by any other means, and - The use of less than deadly force would expose the actor to the risk of death or serious bodily injury. We had a case recently here in West Texas where a couple teen gang-bangers broke into a man's classic T-Bird and stole the stereo. The owner stepped out of his house and saw his car stereo under the guy's arm, running down the street. He fired one time, striking the guy in the butt. The car/home owner, was 'no-billed'. The thing is, the guy who stole the stereo 'could' sue the car/home owner civilly. In this case, the bad guy didn't sue. Chuck unless it's recently changed, TX has a law saying that you can't file civil suit against someone if the event you're suing about happened as a result of a crime you committed against them. It's not likely they'd win but anyone can sue anyone. Chuck

-
That's really good to hear! Maintains my faith in y'all! Chuck
-
Absolutely. All the best in this festive season .. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Are y'all having to put-up with that crap too... the PC crap?
-
Merry Christmas to you, too! Whoever came-up with 'politically correct' needs a swift kick in the ass! Chuck

'Somebody went to disneyland and all I got was this lousy T-shirt! Chuck
-
Bah-humbug! Chuck
-
All this 'PC' crap is just that... CRAP! The way I see it is... if, those of us who celebrate Christmas have to be so tolerant of others as to not even mention Christmas, seems to me, they should do the same and not even mention their holidays. I'm tired of all those folks who want it just their way. With that in mind... A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!! Chuck

There ya' go! I've traveled this country of ours over the years and have met good and bad in all parts... North, South, East or West. I've seen prejudice in all parts of this country as well as kindness. It all depends on the individuals, not 'where' they live. Chuck -

Oh, say it ain't so!!! I know... I was shocked to learn that. Chuck actually some people really ARE superior - but you have to ask them to find out Most of the folks I've met like that were pretty quick to let others know! Chuck -
