There is also the very real possibility of line catching on the closing loop tab, causing a horseshoe.

Where did you get that from? Read the MIL spec and there is nothing in it about breaking intentionally.

UPT does NOT do this. VSE (Infinity) and Jumpshack do. Possibly Sunrise Rigging. Mirage has a couple of small main/bigger reserve options.

I don't see many Voodoos jumped, by pros or others. However, I think pros would use them for the same reason many use Javelins. Sponsorship. Not because they are better rigs, but because they got a better deal. My vote is for Mirage.

Please stop giving advice. You might think you know what you are talking about, but really you don't. In this case, it may be true a smaller canopy lands better. But without mastering a larger canopy first, a smaller canopy also allows you to break bones better (less forgiving). -

Let me see if I have this right? You can't land during the day, so you thought it was a good idea to do a night jump, when depth perception is harder? You are lucky you only sprained an ankle, and should take this time off to consider taking this sport more seriously.
