    Air Combat USA

Was looking for a website for the place in atlanta (if you know what it is, please let me know) came across this: Sky Warriors Crash (The following was copied from www.landings.com.) The pilot and passenger of a Beech T-34A Mentor operated by the Atlanta-based Sky Warriors dogfighting school were killed in a crash near the Georgia town of Cartersville April 19th (1999?). Dan Bouck, 51, of Atlanta and Ted McFann, Sr., 60, of Alpharetta, Ga. were killed when a wing separated from their T-34 while engaged in a dogfight with another of the school's planes, authorities said. Bouck was the Sky Warriors pilot and McFann the passenger; both were experienced pilots with ATP licenses. No one on the ground was injured and the second T-34 landed at Sky Warriors' home field without incident. Based at Fulton County Airport-Brown Field, just west of Atlanta, Sky Warriors was one of the first air combat schools in the Southeast. Earl "Stinger" Arrowood, another ATP pilot, is the president of the company. Sky Warriors operated a fleet of four camouflaged T-34s outfitted with laser guns and video cameras. In addition to air combat adventure rides, they also offered unusual attitude/spin training, formation flying and fighter lead-in training. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  5. Wow .. the hoho thread comes back from the dead! :) Drinking some good ole classic.. coke that is.
  6. *sniff, sniff* what's that smell? is it a POST WHORE??
  7. He may have rigging students that need reserve packs to fill in their log book. That would be my first assumption. Well the person who was "xyz" was in the process of getting his rigging ticket I believe - but why should he pack it because it's "free" ?
  8. Question -- one of my old riggers actually wanted to charge me extra for me to watch him pack my rig. Has anyone run into that? I was floored! He also gave me a free back job for buying gear from him, I took him up on the free pack job (but forgot to remind him it was the freebie until it came time to "pay") then he was like "well I wish you would have told me this was the free one, I could have had xyz pack it" *scratches head* thoughts?
  9. Ahh well nice to meet you fellow monkey, i'm may.
  10. It was a 2 MONTH old. and I think they were supposed to be sleeping.
  11. Well this is just discouraging.. back home (Mississippi) the local newspaper is reporting: here that Girl, 4, suspect in killing Father speculates jealousy led to assault on child's brother By Jerry Mitchell jmitchell@clarionledger.com and Thyrie Bland tbland@clarionledger.com Jackson police believe one of the city's latest homicides was committed by a 4- year-old, perhaps Mississippi's youngest killer ever. "I can't think of any case where a suspect was 4," said Jackson police spokesman Robert Graham. "We're consulting with the district attorney's office and trying to decide what steps to take next." The state Department of Human Services has intervened in the case in which authorities say the 4-year-old girl beat her 2-month-old brother, Alfred Griffin Jr., to death. Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart said an autopsy showed Alfred died of multiple skull fractures, and he had abrasions, bites and scratches on his face. She found injuries consistent with the baby's head being hit with a brick. The child's 22-year-old father, Alfred Griffin Sr., said he found the baby unconscious sometime before 1 a.m. Monday. "I saw the bite marks on his jaw," Griffin said. "I put him up to me and he wasn't breathing. I just panicked and started hollering." Griffin said that on Tuesday the state Department of Human Services came to the house he shares with his fiancee, Felicia Jackson, and took custody of the 4- year-old and three other children, ages 6, 7 and 9. "I was crying. They were crying," Griffin said. Hinds County District Attorney Faye Peterson said the killing was "extremely violent and suspicious behavior for a child." "My first question in this case is, 'So what's been going on in the household?' " she said. DHS officials are investigating if there was any neglect in the household or if there was a failure to monitor children, she said. Griffin said the children were sleeping in the living room of their house at 6583 George Washington Drive when he went to bed Sunday night. His fiancee was not at home. Griffin said he got up later to change the baby's diaper and found that his son was not breathing. His 9-year-old step-son told him he had tried to wake Griffin up because the 4- year-old had been bothering the baby, he said. Griffin said he woke the children's grandmother, who also lives in the home, and they called 911. What could possibly prompt a child so young to commit such a violent act is left to speculation. Griffin said his 4-year-old daughter may have been jealous of the baby. Griffin said his daughter sometimes gave him menacing looks when he played with the infant. "All new and young parents should watch for these things," he said. He also said he remembers her reaction when he brought home a stroller and play pen for the baby. "She said, 'You didn't buy these things for me,' " Griffin said. "What she was telling me, that hurt. I wasn't able to do that with her." Peterson questioned where a 4-year-old could learn such violent behavior. "It may have been something the 4-year-old saw on TV," she said. "I don't believe a child naturally grows that way, actually kills so young. I'm just shocked by it." Chester Quarles, professor of criminal justice at the University of Mississippi, also wonders about influences. "In all probability, the 4-year-old had been exposed to violence and was acting out what (she) had observed during (her) short lifetime," he said. Peterson said it's too early to tell whether criminal charges, such as neglect, will ever be filed against any adults. "We may or may not be able to charge anyone," she said. Under the law, prosecutors are barred from prosecuting any child under 10 because children are unable to appreciate the fact they've committed a crime. "Generally, (competency) is an issue for children," Peterson said. "They're still living in the world of fantasy." Experts say there have been killings committed by children as young as 4, but such cases are extremely rare. In Flint, Mich., in 2000, a 6-year-old fatally shot a female classmate a day after the two had fought on the playground. The child was believed to be the youngest murder suspect in Michigan history. The 6-year-old was never charged, but the adult from whom he had gotten the gun was later convicted of criminal negligence. Later that year, an 11-year-old boy in Pontiac, Mich., was charged with killing an 18-year-old, making him one of the youngest people in U.S. history charged as an adult with first-degree murder. While it seems there are more news stories lately on children killing children, Jack Levin, director of Northeastern University's Center for the Study of Violence, said statistics show no increase in killings by children under 14. "The entire increase that we saw in the murder rate attributable to juveniles has been an increase in teenage murderers," he said. "Below 14, there's been no increase at all." But there's no question a 4-year-old who expresses his anger in such deadly fashion needs profound therapy, he said. "Where does that come from?" he asked. "It could be faulty wiring, or it could be a terrible experience in early childhood." The question about such treatment is how effective it would prove, he said. "This extreme loss of temper is so rare we don't really have a track record to deal with it effectively."
  12. I have seen this problem happen at the dz. A guy found out that tandems were $160, but regular tickets were $17. He then wanted to rent gear. No log book. "What do you usually jump?" "The usual." "Where did you last jump?" "It was a while ago in uhhh...another state." "We can call them." "They went out of business." "Well...it's a rule that we need to see your log book, so stop by another day." Politely handled, but what an idiot. Holy crap! That takes some balls there if he were to actually go through with it... *thinking* I wonder if there could have been some way just to screw with him, "sure here you go you're on load 2 you have a 10 minute call" first of all he'd probably think "who the hell is calling me here?? no one knows i'm here! how does she know it will take 10 minutes to talk to them??? humm this is crazy!" then he gets on the plane.. makes a jump has a cypress save busts his ass on landing.. probably have a nice wet spot on his jumpsuit. hehe :)
  13. Awesome story -- let us know for sure a date when it's showing, can't wait! Kevin
  14. Dude, what DZ did you go to? Come to orange give me some plane rides :) Kevin
  15. I had to deal with just this when I was first starting as a jumper, only thing is - they gave priority to the experienced jumpers.. I quickly got discouraged.. went from driving 45 minutes to the dropzone to driving 3 hours just so I could finish my training. After I finished my training, I continued going to this 3 hour dropzone because they had a "real" plane and were a lot more professionally run. I was peeved, sitting all day to do one jump as a student..
  16. I've had 2 during my jumping carrer.. one when I was a student and unintentional, and one intentional just a few weeks ago. #1) I was under a big ass student canopy and not paying attention to the wind direction.. found myself going backwards away from the dropzone under canopy.. so i had to find a good place to land... once I realized i wasn't making it back I went with the wind down over some power lines.. turned it back around into the wind and landed on someone's driveway.. about i'd say 400 feet from the power lines... i was quite impressed #2) One of the jumpers in my group had a cutaway due to a lineover, I followed his canopy and freebag down into a cow field.. landed within 2 steps of the freebag (my target) and avoided the cow shit :) It was fun!
  17. Hey thanks guys for the tips on the exit, my exits are perfect now! I found that if I slow down and wait a fraction of a second longer once i'm out the door then things work out perfectly... i'm soo excited :)
  18. two trains leave the station at the same time travelling in opposite directions................. heheh boy i loved problems like that.. (NOT!)
  19. Oh some other thoughts that I found help out... turn the DV camera off when rendering, only have it running when you're dumping the video back to tape. (i used to have the camera on so that I could see the preview on the camera, etc...) *thinking* other than that, having sufficent resources (memory & disk & processor) are the only things I can think of.. but i had the exact same problem on my laptop. i have my new hotrod coming next week -- pent 4 2.53, 512 ram, ati radeon 9700, pioneer dvd burner, sound blaster audigy platinum.. woo hoo!! :)
  20. Play with them here Believe it or not, this is actually pretty safe for work other than the banner ad at the bottom for the porn site.
  21. Only if you have video, if it isn't on video it didn't happen, right? :) you can send proof to me directly hehe
  22. Its amazing, with my sick mind and your title not having a hyphen between bi and plane I was thinking the plane had some type of sexual preference associated with it.. hehe it's friday and early. Anyone jumped a gay plane? I guess the closest thing to a gay plane is that of Skydive Pink
