That' the one been able to watch on the mini screen. You don't always have quick access to a TV to watch footage.

I must agree with Ernokaikkonen it is not the resposibility of any other jumper no matter what their rating to check other peoples gear unless asked to do so. If a jumper happens to notice something then yeah say something, otherwise it' still down to the jumper to check his own gear.

I have one of the old style FF2 helmets and it's geat, but I do not like the new FF2s. The idea behind the camera been totally encapsulated is great but that's it. If you want to check your footage change a battery you have to take the camera out of the helmet, where as before it had a swivel lid with easy access to the camera. Where the camera sits is also not held down as well as before, but not having jumped one i'm not sure what effect this has on the movement of the camera. All in all it is a very good lid, but I personally don't like the new ones.

Like PuffDaddy I have the same setup and have absolutely no problems at all with mine. I load my main at about 1/1.6, openings long slow and beautiful, swoops are great but I must agree it's not for beginners even though it is a very forgiving canopy. I havn't heard of any problems with Vortex2, the earlier models did have problems (that's the same as anything) but all that has been improved and rectified on the containers. In reply the Skreamers quote about them been cheap, True but only because the exchange rate from most countries is so good. You try buy one of those living in SA on a normal wage and you will see that it is very expensive. All containers have had problems at some stage or another no matter what manufacturer it is, that' why they print "Everything is at your own risk" ( different wording but you get the idea)

Maybe the resrve pin was not seated properly and the opening of the main was the lat straw for it and caused it to come out.

Could some of you Crossfire owners out there give us some personal opinions on their Crossfires, preferrably on a higher wingloading about of 1.6. Comparrisons with other similar Eliptical canopies would be great.

Well if that's a myth why bother doing hook turns for the additional speed to do swoops if the same effect is achieved on a normal approach????? He would still have that initial 60 MPH before slowing to the approach speed of 30 MPH which is what the guy doesn't want. So instead of shutting down an initial 60 mph approach he only has to deal with a 30mph approach, or have I miss understood you on this one??

Stop doing 90 degree turns on a approach and building up speed....That will help shut it down. You also said you want to jump all day without hard openings, then a Sabre would be my last choice (I owned one and know from experiance, that goes for the Sabre2 as well)

Attched are 3 photos from a near miss. You can analyse and all can make recommendations . The story goes... After a successful 9 way tube jump the camera guy filmed the deployment of the guy carrying the tube. The other person watched turned then tracked. He barrelled 180 clear skies(as his footage shows) tehn 180 still on heading just before deployment, then as the photos show had a near miss from the person wo filmed the tube opening. Who's at fault? I say both Low person has right of way but should have tracked more. Person above should have seen this and tracked away from low person. Lesson: give a good track at the end of your dive, double check with barrel rolls before deployment espcially when doing large group jumps.

I've bought the camera and helmet what next??

If the Helmet is coming from 2KComp , then this is assuming you are a UK Jumper, C license is MIN. requirement to jump with a camera. Even with an enclosed helmet having the lens protruding will give you additonal malfunctions that you may have to deal with. -

"Who cares it is just soccer, It's not even a real sport" is this based American football , Basebal and WWF been a real anything.

Sorry but Brazil have a got a terrible defence and right through the world cup it has been exploited. I don 't think Germany will have the creativity to hold and control the midfield. Hamanns opposite Ronaldinho will be the star again like he was against England(SOB). With Ronaldo going for golden boot, there can be only one. The Boys from Brazil....hate the Germans anyway.

Use Partition Magic ver7, to increase your partition size and format it to FAT32.

Don't use NTFS if you are planning to share files. The security on it will cause you inherent problems because that is what NT4/2000 O/S security is based on. Depending what O/S you are using you also may have Encryption set as a defeult when it was installed as well as compression , none of which you will be able to see from linux.

You might be missing the MSJava virtual machine. It is downloadable from Microsoft. Quick check is go to View once IE is open . see if there is a sub menu Java Console. This is not needed in IE6

Everything in that part of the world is cheap. Going to Slovakia in July where the jump prices are 9USD. Don't get better than that.

Best exit out a skyvan .Face the rear of the plane on the edge. Step out and and with a slight lean backwards exit the plane. This puts you into the easiest headdown position ever. No work at all. Great for big group headdown flower exits.

PD recommend.. "To check your stows on the ground, it should take between 8 and 12 pounds of force to unstow the lines when pulling the bag across a smooth surface by the bridle. A larger canopy will require a a larger force as will a canopy deployed at higher speeds...." My copy and paste 0.02cents worth

Drill a hole it will be okay, but don't go mad and put an exceptional size hole in it. Once it's on put some tape round the sides to seal it a bit (air rushing past on the sides)

I bought 2nd hand to start with. Found something that was my size and slod it of when I bought new for almost what i paid for it. Think of doing the same and put your money into jumping. The Vortex is a very good option but then you will be waiting again.

Lets correct: I agree Gus is not the best, slight typo should of said" One of the best..." so his experiance is most invaluable especially for beginners . I wouldn't lead anybody to believe anything , it's always my opinon and if you do you're an idiot My top camera flyers are European flyers with Bruno heading my list. And I can always invoke the name of the Dark Lord, been my best friend and all.

To some of the previous posts I don't think I said "do not jump L brackets etc etc..." but said you are looking for trouble. Some of the people mentioned by have how many thousands of jumps under their name and are experianced enough to handle just about any type of mal that a line snag could throw at them. In the words of Gus from skydive Deland (top camera flyer in the country)to a friend of mine who wanted to fit a D box onto a bonehead "That's a death trap" can't argue with that.
