  1. That would be a good idea but I'm not opening the pool here at home this season. Better things ahead.
  2. Thank you! I guess misery loves company today. I just showered and I'm going to head to Wawa for some food and to get some air. Were you awake for the storms last night? My town didn't get the brunt of the wind, rain and thunder but the lightning was pretty cool. Miss Sophia Lucia isn't feeling too well herself. All of a sudden she seems older. She'll be 10 July 16th. I'm just keeping a close eye on her. She's actually getting vertigo herself. She gets ear mites so I've been fighting her with the ear drops. Maybe she's just feeling poopy from getting dizzy. I don't want to stress her out with an invasive vet visit at this point. It'll make her feel worse. What's pissing me off the most is I hurt my MCL stretching before I was going to do a little run. Stretching my hamstrings. Aggravating the MCL injury I got a little over 2 years ago during a rescue diver class. I was stretching and I felt a little pop but it didn't hurt. I did a 30 minute walk/run (Couch to 5K program) and it was a little bit sore at the end. Took the next day off, ran and then I was in absolute agony but I didn't stop the workout. I'm such a dumb ass. I signed up for my first 5K and I'd been feeling OK, really wanting to challenge my MS diagnosis/symptoms to kiss my ass, and I totally messed myself up. I'm just angry at myself right now. Ugh. On the bright side of things, it's almost Hoagiefest time at Wawa!! Always be kinder than you feel.
  3. Right about now the Mac and Fuck It looks delicious. Always be kinder than you feel.
  4. That first vote for Fuck You ________ was me. What went through my head was "Fuck you, user fake friends." Always be kinder than you feel.
  5. Wow. Really? I find there's a ton of very smart people with very different backgrounds who give many different views on many different subjects. I'm grateful to have them to float ideas and get honest feedback. I never thought anyone was a bunch of whining mother fuckers. Always be kinder than you feel.
  6. Me. I feel like shit, look like hell, have a knee injury that's causing so much pain I was in tears yesterday, I live alone, have no help, I'm starving and it hurts to get on the crutches and go downstairs to make a sandwich, I've been on my back with my leg up, braced and iced for the better part of 4 days. I'm just exhausted, irritable and pissed at always having to do everything for/by myself when I jump to help everyone else even on days where I was super busy or didn't feel great myself. I have no one to count on and it blows. I just need a hug, a shower and a really nice dinner. I really, really hope your day is a lot better than that. Always be kinder than you feel.
  7. I also look at how initials spell out. I went to school with a KEG and JUG. JUG had big boobies do they called her Jugs. KEG was Kegger. Always be kinder than you feel.
  8. I presume this is in reference to me not naming the establishment? I'm sure if they were to read this they could work out very quickly who I am. I started the thread not to name and shame but to see if I was being unreasonable in the eyes of other skydivers. It seems that I am. Things I have learned from this thread: 1) It is completely unreasonable to ask for discount ever. 2) It is up to the customer to build trust and rapport with the retailer, not the other way round. 3) Large groups of people easily become single tracked about an issue taken completely out of context which would explain how someone like Bush was re-elected or even elected in the first place. 4) There is some underlying sore issue between riggers and retailers that I'm obviously unaware of. Not regarding not naming names, because I don't think that's an issue because it's such a small community anyway, someone could figure out the store you're referring to. I literally meant being worried about them seeing what you wrote and them calling you out for anything, whether it was a literal interpretation or some other perception. Always be kinder than you feel.
  9. Are you worried about the gear store reading what you've posted here and not wanting to do business with you any longer? What about the rigger(s)? Just curious. Always be kinder than you feel.
  10. Hey look! New entry! Always be kinder than you feel.
  11. I'd paint the arrowed section white. I think that wall can handle a "heavy" looking fireplace bottom since the mantle looks wide. If you don't like it, any chance you still have paint left from when the other walls were painted? So you can go back to the original color? BTW, it looks nice. I like the colors and the crown. Looks like my bedroom.
  12. I don't have a good answer for that. I've been to a place (a dive shop) where I've been treated very well, haven't spent a dime, received excellent, knowledgeable and friendly service for what I've inquired about and I've sent people their way just on that alone. I don't think money always has to be exchanged in order to be loyal. I know what I mean but I don't know if it's coming across as I'm intending... Always be kinder than you feel.
  13. ^This. I thought of going back and clarifying but I figured he'd know the way I was using "you". Sorry for the confusion!! Always be kinder than you feel.
  14. No. I am simply correct. There is no pedantry in it. It IS disposable income. Negative. You inferred that all on your own. Which I hope you understand is completely irrelevant to the discussion. The $60 in free services you requested is how other people make their living. Just as you worked hard for your $7000 in disposable income, these people are also working hard. Your working hard does not supersede their working hard. It is, obviously in my opinion, that it is improper to ask other people to work hard for you for free. Some people might disagree with that, but I think it's a douchy thing to do. WHY? Because people ask me to work for free quite a bit. I'm sorry, but my efforts and time aren't free. It's disrespectful of the knowledge I have and the services I provide. It's something the people asking me to do for free can't even begin to do for themselves, yet they've valued my knowledge and time at nothing. Sorry, but you will not now, nor ever, get any sympathy from me over this issue. Well you've obviously got an axe to grind, maybe you work for this company or the lady is your partner/friend. Your last response tells me that you've completely missed my point, the one I specifically pointed out, that I was not asking a rigger to do this for free. I was asking the corporate company with whom I spent a large sum of money to cover the cost of a reserve pack in return for my loyalty. I honestly didn't think that was an unreasonable request. In any other business, asking for a 0.85% discount wouldn't be classed as unreasonable. In skydiving it seems it is. Loyalty isn't something that should be bought. Like respect and trust it should be earned. I agree that respect and trust SHOULD be earned. Loyalty, however, CAN be bought. Example, (hypothetically speaking) a company can pay (alot of money) for mercenary services for protection. Those mercenaries are loyal to that company in the interest of money. If i were running for class president and i was being paid (alot of money) by special interest group to make a stand on said special interest group issue then i have been effectively "loyal" to that special interest group because my "loyalty" was bought out. I'm not saying any of these things happen in the real world but theoretically it can. That just makes you a sell out. Always be kinder than you feel.
  15. Tits on a bull? Always be kinder than you feel.
  16. If you're bald you don't have to worry about that one. Always be kinder than you feel.
