I'm happy the cops didn't put together a 2:14 video of the destruction with some snazzy Pink Flyod music and picture/video fade outs and other graphics. FWIW, I think I just may be too close to the situation to be fair. I'm a news whore. I love news. All news, all the time. I just don't like it on my quiet little street in the middle of the blueberry fields. I think neighbors should protect neighbors (except the assholes directly across the street from me but that's another story ). Always be kinder than you feel.

No official cause just yet. Just 20 minutes ago I got a text from one of my girlfriends who is a very good friend of the homeowner's new wife. I asked if they could say an official cause yet and she said no. There was a big fire in Camden, NJ yesterday. That may be space heater related. I saw it on the news last night IIRC. I was thinking he needed a new pair of Vans instead of those little thin sneakers he's wearing (probably by Adidas ). Loved his little pool swoop at the end. Always be kinder than you feel.

Your house is on fire. Your family and pets are all safely outside waiting for the fire department. Your home and it's entire contents are insured for full replacement value and then some. You won't be injured/killed/etc. (because you have some sort of magical powers or whatever you want to call them). You're allowed to pick up and take ONE THING out the front door to survive the flames. What is it? I'd take my D & B tote bag because it always has my smaller purse and laptop inside. Everything I need is in my purse (cell, bank cards, cash, keys, thumb drives, chargers, etc.) and my laptop is access to the outside world where there's at least one backup of essential information. Great news that it's something that should clear up!! Phew!! Send him some get well lovin' and chin scratches from me and Sophia Lucia!! MEOW! PS - Good luck if his antibiotics are pills. Hopefully it's the liquid stuff you squirt down his little throat. Always be kinder than you feel.

Trolling? Not sure if this is trolling or not.

Spanking lover. No comment None needed. Just a safeword. ;-) Perhaps one referencing a Hawaiian fruit? Hawaiian Punch? That counts. Always be kinder than you feel. -
And you know what? My memory told me he was flying the drone with the fire trucks still there. The video shows me they were the big, loud electric company bucket trucks where the fire trucks were parked but the cops and other emergency services people were still there. Whoa!!! That scares me!!!!!! Good luck with that!!! Always be kinder than you feel.

You're Italian and you're from Jersey. You've got people. Fill in the rest. That stuff died with my Grandfather. I think that's why most of my relatives were cops. Always be kinder than you feel.

Well, I found the MFers You Tube channel and he already has a snazzy little video up of the fire and the drone action. I saw he credited his wife with taking lots of pictures. And other neighbor gets some photo creds as well. I was talking to her earlier, didn't know they were a couple. She actually crossed the police tape and was taking pictures. You can see the family on the sidewalk by the remains of the house. Wow. Just wow. ETA: He also has a shitload of vids of him flying this thing all around the neighborhood. What bothers me the most is that we're right by the airport and we get lots of low flying planes right over our houses and the farmland adjacent to our development. Not to mention the Lifeflight helicopter. This MFer just couldn't wait to get his footage online. It's now 5:36pm and it says the fire video was posted 23 hours ago. Un-effing-real. /rant over Always be kinder than you feel.

Just When You Think You've Seen It All...

May he DID and that's the reason for the hyped Velveeta shortage (which I don't believe anyway). There's a Velveeta shortage? When did that happen? Believe it! My frig is totally devoid of Velveeta! Oh, wait... That sounds like bait! Always be kinder than you feel. -

I didn't read the article on this one.... but here's a link: http://www.nbcnews.com/business/not-stunt-velveeta-confirms-shortage-2D11887843 Right before the Superbowl. THAT'S got to hurt. I'm glad I'm not into it or else I'd really miss it!! Always be kinder than you feel. -
No, that was cool!! I got to ride an elevator with Diana Ross at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City in the late 80s. My friend worked in PR and her Dad was a big time Casino Host at the time. I was supposed to see Sam Kinison at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City and getting to the arena on the night of the concert was greeted with a sign the concert was postponed. He died shortly thereafter. :-( Always be kinder than you feel.

My regrets to them for their loss - but this points out a mistake people sometimes make when buying homeowner's insurance - sometimes due to not realizing what they're (not) buying, or sometimes due to a desire to economize on premiums: check with your agent on whether your insurance covers contents, too - sometimes it requires you to "schedule" certain specific items of value, such as jewelry, electronics, a skydiving rig, etc. And, that may or may not require some extra money per month. If you don't buy the right insurance, you could find yourself only partly covered for your loss. I hope your neighbors recover from their ordeal with as little further trauma as possible. Thank you and thanks for the PSA. Luckily, I'm covered to the hilt, thanks to my Dad's guidance. The neighbors and I were talking about this last night. My homeowner's company sends out reminders every few months to check your coverage amounts due to new purchases/home additions/etc.. I don't know if that's the norm but it's a good reminder. Always be kinder than you feel.

You only get in trouble if you get caught. That being said, most of the people I've seen get in any trouble and have their clearances bounce were because of financial issues or alcohol incidents. Of course, the new signal officer in charge of my detachment getting a DUI didn't help the problem any, though it was funny that he couldn't follow us into some of the rooms. Since I've access to the delete button in the database where these offenses are generated/maintened/etc., my ass would be DONE. D-U-N DONE. I've seen it happen, I've had to revoke privileges on other people so I know it's no joke, no matter how small an infraction. Always be kinder than you feel.

I can't say I'm hugely offended, but I think I can answer the question. It's an issue of what is appropriate. People are losing their possessions. Their pictures, the kids' school projects, the quilt made by their deceased grandmother, things of more than financial value. They were scared for the lives of those they love only moments ago. That someone is interested in making it into entertainment via a phone camera is...inappropriate. That they got out more complex equipment and are attempting to launch even more invasive means of documenting someone else's emotional loss is insulting. The chances that the guy was documenting it so the family would have something to remember it by are pretty low. He was fulfilling a personal desire with their loss. It's opportunistic, self-serving, and not in keeping with the level of human empathy that many of us would like to strive for. Call it...insensitive. I actually offered up my pics to the appropriate people if they need to see anything that happened before the fire department got there. I was thinking it's a good damn thing I was home and not sitting in an office 1.5 hours away not knowing what was going on because my police department put pictures up right away on Facebook, as well as some local news pages I follow. I would've died seeing that first on Facebook because I was honestly shocked when I saw it so soon and I was standing across the street from it happening live. Always be kinder than you feel.

No, some kind of foam. As a matter of fact, I better check to see when they expire because I honestly do not know. Thank you for the reminder! Always be kinder than you feel.

This morning I was thinking I may have overreacted on this one but I'm still not convinced I did. I think intentionally inserting yourself into something like this via getting in the way or distracting rescue personnel is horrible. A grown man continuing to do so when you've been told by a victim that you're upsetting crying little kids by flying over their house with a toy is pretty disgusting. Knowing this is this guy's "hobby" is saddening. Always be kinder than you feel.
