A Republican accusing the Democrats of scare tactics? That's fucking priceless.

No, that happened because some home owners were "freed" and lost all sense of proportion and responsibility. The problem was that banks, they wanted to lend more and more money on shaky home loans, they found a way to shift the risk (unregulated derivatives) to companies like AIG. AIG and others insured trillions of dollars worth of shit. When the housing bubble burst, all the investment banks that were holding the bundled home loans were going to go belly up if AIG and others did not make good, if they didn't get paid by AIG, the banking system would collapse. Unregulated derivatives is what brought the world to the brink. This deregulation was a bi-partisan affair.

What boggles the mind is thinking that the right-wing has ever had the well-being of the military as a priority.

Romney in Michigan: 'No one has ever asked to see my birth certificate'
jclalor replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
It's really no different than yours, there are at least thousands who predict the outcomes of elections, the chances of some of those getting seven in a row, while perhaps appearing magical to some, is not too impressive. -

And Romney claims the Obama's campaign is in the gutter? Watch all the knuckle draggers in the background applaud with glee at Romney's line, it was a feel good moment for all. http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08/24/13458214-romney-in-michigan-no-one-has-ever-asked-to-see-my-birth-certificate?lite -
The split second a Republican refers to a scientific fact, is the split second he will have frothing tea baggers demanding his ouster.

A rape test? There's no such thing. There are rape kits used by hospitals, they are used in the collection of DNA and other trace evidence left after sex. There is no definitive physical evidence that proves rape or consensual sex for an adult.

Lipator is for cholesterolemia, not diabetes. Some teens are more likely than others to develope type 2 from non dietary issues. Some kids, no matter what their diet, will have high cholesterol from heredity issues. If they are overweight now, or are reluctant to stay compliant with meds and a diet, go online and show them some pictures like this: http://www.goldbamboo.com/pictures-t2766.html On the bright side, Type 2 DM is reversible, if you really work at it.

Leader Of Anti-Semitic Party In Hungary Discovers He's Jewish
jclalor replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Way, way wrong. "Jews" are the children of Israel/Jacob, period. Judaism is a tribal identity, purely familial, though it has strong religious traditions. For example, some 96% of self-identified Kohainim were determined to share a common male ancestor (Aaron) - you can not become a Kohain if you are not one by birth. Adherents to the more popular Universal Religions have a tendency to assume that other isms are of the same mold, which is hardly the case. If your mother not Jewish, you are a Gentile unless you convert. Conversion to Judaism is quite unlike conversion to Scientology or Christianity; it is an adoption into the family, to become one of the tribe. The Tribal Council held at a Jewish congregation is precisely that. A Jew can be a Buddhist, an Atheist or whatever, and it has no effect on one's identity as a Jew. In Europe in the 1940s, people who thought of themselves as Christian but had Jewish heritage went into the ovens alongside the Haredim. BSBD, Winsor In the eyes of an anti-Semite, it makes no difference at all, once you have Jewish blood, you are vermin scum that is genetically programmed to lie, cheat, steal, and nail up the occasional Christian messiah. -
Do you think for a split second Romney would oppose a budget supported by the entire GOP? Not to mention that by Romney giving him the nod, he is in fact endorsing Ryan's budget. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/12/us/politics/ryan-and-his-budget-are-a-gamble-for-romney.html
