  1. What aggression has the US ever shown towards Iran? Well, we attacked the country right next door to Iran with naked unprovoked aggression. They probably think they might be next and want to defend themselves. Wouldn't you be concerned if a huge military super power took over Canada and had a huge arsenal on the other side of the border? How would you feel if the US was surrounded by Iranian battleships and aircraft carriers? To answer the original question, no I do not want Iran to have nukes, I don't want us to have them either, I think we should knock it off and play nice. Onward and Upward!
  2. And the follow up question is "what should be done about this"? Ban religion, then we won't need weapons or war. Religion is the root of all evil in the world. Until we throw down these silly irrational beliefs from ancient times we will always have strife and violence amongst ourselves. In the mean time we have to protect ourselves from these loonies that want the world to end. End of times believers are the biggest threat to humanity. Onward and Upward!

  6. Not playing favorites here. I think a man who sticks his dick in a woman's ass is just as gross as when men stick their dicks in other men's asses. It's all gross. Seriously? So Beonce is on her hands and knees and says she wants you to take her in the ass and you say "no sorry, that is gross" I call bullshit. Onward and Upward!
  7. Bump, Thanks to Douglas Spotted Eagle for stepping up and making a generous donation and sponsoring our event with a nice selection of VASST software. Very cool DSE! We jumped today despite the mud and snow and we are on for next weekend, Weather is the only thing that will slow us down. It is still very much winter here. Onward and Upward!

  10. I want to share the email I received this morning. I am not taking sides just passing this on.... *************** This really sucs. We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience that the Argus ban may cause you. We’re not the victim of this decision. You all are. The Argus is the most advanced, flexible and most compact AAD ever. We are proud to have saved 24 lives till today. As you know by now the Argus has been banned by RI, Mirage, Parachute Systems, UPT and Sunpath due to a so called series of incidents. We know that the decision to ban the Argus was taken well before the PIA Symposium. It was just waiting for the 'right' timing to zoom in for the kill. As in all crimes, look who’s benefitting from it. At this time San Marcos still refuses to release the affected unit. Therefore, we can not investigate this incident and we cannot defend us. We asked the FAA to help us in this matter. Aviacom provided the PIA with all the cutter-testing results. To no avail. There is not one reason the ground the Argus; there are three million (3,000,000.00 USD) reasons of an instant replacement market that has been created on behalf of PIA members. And we are not a member. This is about politics and not about safety. Banning the Argus is not going to improve safety. And the ban effectively shuts down this company. May we suggest that you contact the H/C manufacturers to review their decision? It’s the only solution on a short notice. Thank you for your support through the years. Kind regards, Karel Goorts Aviacom SA P.S.: Argus # 1 207011 102269 has its 3rd Life-Save in a Telesis from Rigging Innovations Onward and Upward!
  11. Your poll did not include a "not yet" option. March 12th is just too early for many cold weather drop zones. When I lived on the East coast I went to 6 safety days a year as a speaker/ presenter, the first was in March and the last one was the first week of May. Some DZ's just opened last week and some are still waiting for better weather. I am a firm believer in having an annual refresher but USPA should not dictate the date and time. Another example of being out of touch with the membership at large. Onward and Upward!
  12. I am happy to announce that Mirage Systems is also sponsoring our event with a generous donation! We are almost half way to our fundraising goal. Onward and Upward!
  13. Not true. The US cared quite a bit, but short of putting troops on the ground, what could be done? Certainly nothing as surgical as this situation. ***Why libya, why now? Because it's something that can actually be done. It's the reason I phrased the hypothetical the way I did. The US removes the Libyan government's ability to bomb its own people. It has an instant and very large effect on making the playing field a bit more level. Nothing like that could be done in Sudan. As for your comment about oil -- that's lunacy. Sudan's largest export IS oil. About 520,000 barrels per day. And I am sure the Sudan people benefit. Sorry, lobbing cruise missiles just because we can is not always the best option. Just my opinion, but I always wanted captain Kirk to blast the Klingons because it was cool to see the bad guys get hammered. You Know, the old freedom verses evil thing. C-ya Onward and Upward!
  14. Consider this hypothetical. You're walking down a street and you see a big kid beating the crap out of a smaller kid. You personally aren't in any danger, but the big kid has a baseball bat and he's starting to wail on the little kid with it. What do YOU do? Do you; A) Stand there and just watch the fight happen? B) Take the baseball bat away from the big kid? C) Kill the big kid. I'm personally not for intervening in a civil war. I would have preferred the "Arab League" step up to the plate and enforce peace among it's own kind. Actually, I would have really preferred Gaddafi just pack a few billion in gold on to a plane and fly to France, but that's not the path he took. When one side has overwhelming force available to it and it appears that it also has no issue with idea with exterminating its opposition, it makes sense that somebody denies them the ability to perform wholesale slaughter on a large population of people. This is NOT the US's doing. The US is fulfilling its obligations as a member of the UN. Like it or not, the fact is, the US is the absolute best equipped country on the planet to start this type of mission. The US's ability to knock out communications, radar and to generally fuck up air bases thereby denying a country the use its air force is truly staggering. The US will very shortly be handing the no-fly enforcement over to the rest of the UN. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/22/world/africa/22libya.html Trust me when I tell you Obama very specifically wants as little to do with a war in Libya as possible. He hemmed and hawed and was dragged into this mess strictly to fulfill the obligations to the UN. People bitched and moaned about that as well. The reality is he was pretty fucked either way through no fault of his own making. Interesting hypothetical but you would have to ask why we did not get involved in the Sudan when millions were slaughtered? Lots a bullies there....Nobody cared about that! Why libya, why now? Oh yeah, they got the oil. We borrow money from China to build bombs to shoot at Tripoli......Makes perfect sense Onward and Upward!
  15. It seems to me that every time we get involved in these situations we only make things worse. Why not try a different approach this time and stay out of it? why not? see what happens? Tomahawks are about half a million each and we just shot off 120 of them, I thought we were broke and trying to save money? Call it what you want, we just attacked another country that never fired a shot at us, for what? Defense my ass, Libya was no threat to us. Onward and Upward!

  21. Thanks for the link, that is truly inspirational. With less than a month to go I don't see putting together such a professional website but I would like to talk to kevin for tips on getting sponsors and media support. One of our new jumpers is a local weather anchor and he has said he would help to get it on the news desk. This whole thing has really evoved into something special in a very short time. It started out as a chance to celebrate 30 years in the sport and then I started thinking about my boy and how this could mean so much more. You are right it is not really about the jumps at this point but it does inspire me to make this happen and raise as much as I can in the time left. Great stuff, thanks for the post! Onward and Upward!
  22. We have rescheduled the jump day to April 2nd which is a Saturday so more people can attend. The 3rd will be an alternate day. There is a new donations thread in the Bonfire now called "30 jumps in one day, fundraiser for Autism Awareness" I would like to thank everyone who has donated so far. Your generosity is much appreciated. Onward and Upward!
  23. Thanks Skymama! Here is the link to the facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=131484436922147 Onward and Upward!
  24. On March 22nd 1981 I stepped out of the door of a perfectly good airplane for the first time. This day changed my life forever. This year on Saturday April 2nd 2011 I will celebrate my 30 year anniversary by making 30 jumps in one day. Skydive Ogden is providing a 182 for the jumps and we are assembling a team of volunteers to pack and provide logistical support. This event will also be a fund raising opportunity for Autism Awareness. I have a young son with Autism and in his honor we are going to raise as much money as we can to donate to the cause. We are currently working on getting the local media involved as well. If you would like to help out with this effort donations can be sent to paypal address uspa.erd@comcast.net Any amount would be greatly appreciated, all proceeds will be donated to AutismSpeaks.org This will not be even close to other records for most jumps in a day but it will be a personal best for myself and the most jumps for any single person at my DZ. Currently there is no "official" state record for most jumps so we hope to set that bar for any future attmpts. The goal is one jump every 15 minutes for almost 8 hours straight. I am new at this fundraising thing so any tips or advice on soliciting funds would be greatly appreciated. We are also holding a raffle and I am donating a new GoPro as the grand prize. If you would like to donate a runner up prize that would be cool also. Anything a skydiver might like, a T-shirt, gift certificate, or anything really. Thanks and wish me luck Scott Onward and Upward!
  25. Ok, got it. I don't want a tanning bed I am just trying to help little kids Is permission granted? I will not abuse the honor. Onward and Upward!
