I totally agree with this. I've failed at marriage. I didn't understand it. I didn't realize what it required. I'm looking forward to trying it again. I understand more now.

That reply alone was worth it!!!

I don't have much of a clue when it comes to cars so I was wondering if someone could answer one question for me?

Those are the people that will stay together no matter how unhappy/unhealthy it is for all involved. Oh, and screw "stay together for the kids"... they can tell when you are unhappy and they would be better off in a happy home, regardless of the number of parents! -A Hell yeah!! My mom has told me, since I was old enough to start thinking about being married one day, that it is better to live with someone and learn about them and decide you can't live with them than to get married and then find out. Unfortunately I am divorced, but fortunately I've lived with someone I thought I would marry and realized I couldn't. My favorite joke?? "Why is divorce so expensive??" Answer, "Because it's worth it!"

My mom once said, "I would possibly consider jumping but someone else would have to be totally in control. I couldn't handle it myself." I said, "Yeah, that's called a tandem."
-
I've done that with a couple of friends, but I could never get away with it with my mom. She'd just tell me it didn't work on me so it won't work on her!

How awesome for your mom!!!!

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!!

My mom has gone to the dz with me several times. She went often with my dad, too. Daddy doesn't jump anymore and I'm out of town so Moma hasn't been to the dz since 1997 I tihnk. I'm trying to get her to meet me at a boogie but she doesn't know yet. She's still a great skydiver's mom!! Hell, she's just a great mom!!

Oh how I wish we had meetings at my office!

Yeah right!! My mom has MS. Yesterday I sent her the link to Michele's article about Rebel. She read it and wrote back to tell me how nice it was. So I replied and told her that she should go jump now. I started and have close to 400 jumps now. My dad made 40. My brother made 3 static lines and my grandmother did a tandem. I told Moma she's the only one left and since she's not as impared physically as Rebel was then there's no reason for her not to jump. I told her she is the reason I jumped in the first place. I didn't want to go but she kind of talked me into it. Her reply? I love my mom!!

That's a good question. I got carbon monoxide poisoning a while back and spent 8 hours in the ER on oxygen. They debated sending me to the hyperbaric chamber (I guess that's what it's called) about 2 hours away. They finally decided it would be quicker to just leave me where I was because by the time they got the helicopter there and got me to the other place it would have taken the same amount of time to drive. And the drive would have done the same thing as leaving me where I was. Maybe the ambulance you were chasing had a similar type of situation... dunno... just my ramblings... -

Awww... I'm so sorry to hear about your pooch. I did love on my pooch this morning before I left. She put her paws on my arms and gave me tons of puppy kisses while I told her I loved her and I'd see her later. I'm glad I did, just because you never know what might happen... The same goes with any loved one. Let them know you love them the best you can. You never know if and when you'll see them again. Blue Skies Eddie

What's the scariest thing that's ever happened to you?

December 1998 - I got carbon monoxide poisoning VERY badly and should have died. I lived alone. I was able to call my boss, who was also one of my only friends at the time, who in turn called 911. I was TERRIFIED that I would never see my family again. I was in the ER on oxygen for 8 hours that day. November 2001 - Bad spot over trees and a small lake/large pond. I set up for a tree landing and realized that I could clip the tops of some trees and make it between them and land on the other side between two hangers. I had no idea there were power lines right there. I flew through the V of the trees and through the top and bottom power lines only to get caught and stuck in the lines. 30 minutes later, and at least 1,000 pictures by EVERYONE at the dz that day, I was safely on the ground with no problems. 30 minutes after that I was on the sunset load. -
Oh wow! That's great!
