I think someone pointed you and John Woo out. But i was a newbie then and i didn't jump much. I remember the enthusiasm being very similar between you guys and the cancer survivors jumps. Incredible to see a group of people come together for a cause and accomplish a record. It was a good thing for me to witness at that time. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. -

Very cool. I was fortunate enough to be at SSM when you guys had the first WR. Charl used to jump with me and some other low timers every weekend. He taught me a ton. I even let Gideon pack for me a few times. The only problem with him was that he used to find our "pouring" beer for SCR ceremonies and drink it. I guess he liked cheap beer. Tell him Jeff from San Marcos said Hi! Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. -

First, i have NOT jumped a Katana, yet. I have however jumped many other 9 cell elipticals. One of the things that will be very different are the opening characteristics. Sabre2's don't really need to be steered on opening. Stiletto's do, and so do Katana's and most other elip 9 cells. Getting used to the twitchy openings on a Stiletto first where that is the main difference, then going to a Katana to get used to the increased recovery arc would be the reasons (i think) that JP would suggest it. In my limited experience, i have to agree with him. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

Not quite the same, but i went on a nighttime ghost tour in old town Savannah once. It was a really cool tour learning the history and hauntings of an incredibly old and historical city. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

Nice job Scott. It is a cool feeling when you wait and wait and finally get a shot at one. Good luck hunting one with your bow, i have been trying to get one with my bow for a couple years now. Those things have incredible eyes. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

Sinker, Phree has some great advice. I would suggest finding a small airpark that has several of them already flying. There you will usually find the one old guy who likes to buy/sell them. My father had a mx sport, a gt400 and finally a RANS His partner in the Rans was a licensed pilot, so he was using it for "training" I flew it a few times, it was great fun. The gt and the rans both had ballistic chutes on them. Dad landed the gt twice off field with no engine. The are pretty safe. Have fun. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

I agree with Kris and the others that say to use rears instead of toggles, however, fighting a canopy that wants to turn/spin on opening can make it worse. Sometimes if you "follow" (with your body)the canopy around it will settle down. My (former) crossfire would do this every once in a while, i grabbed the rears once when it decided to go hard to the left. It pulled my left arm around and behind me dislocating my shoulder (minor) Like Shimmel said, "Ain't elipticals fun?" Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

I don't walk around in them, but i have no problems changing from my jumpsuit into my freefly pants or shorts in the packing room or where ever. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
