What is up with NY Liberals being Cop haters??!!
friendstersux replied to friendstersux's topic in Speakers Corner
I don't get what you're trying to say. I never called you an idiot. The article clearly states that the NY Civil Liberties Union are cop haters. I would sincerely like to know why is that so. How is that a ridiculous statement? Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you! -

I just don't get it. NY Liberals, please clarify why you hate cops for curiousity sake. GUNFIRE IN HARLEM It seemed like a throwback to New York's bad old days of the '80s and early '90s: random shots ringing out, bodies dropping to the ground. Thankfully, no one died from Monday's hellish gunfire in Harlem. But six teens were left with bullet holes in them and another was stabbed - for reasons that remain unclear. If ever there was a case to be made for the NYPD's much-bashed stop-and-frisk policies, this is it. Consider: Cops arriving on the scene stopped a group of young black men who fit witnesses' descriptions of the perps. One youth bolted as the cops approached, tossing a gun as he ran. Police retrieved the weapon and eventually caught the boy, who turned out to be 15. He claimed he'd just found the gun. The NYPD, of course, is examining it to see if it was used in the shootings. But the key point is that the cops had uncovered a dangerous illegal weapon by stopping and confronting the group. And, indeed, such action is precisely what leads to fewer guns on New York's streets generally. Yet the NYPD has taken enormous heat over it - largely because those stopped are often minorities. Indeed, THE COP HATERS - THE NEW YORK CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION, in particular, backed by THE NEW YORK TIMES- claim such police stops are biased and constitute racial profiling. We wonder if the six Harlem teens hit by bullets agree with that. Or if they wish that police had stopped and frisked their assailants before the shootings. Bottom line: With more stops, not less, this tragedy might have been averted. Not that the NYPD-bashers care about that, of course. We can only wait and see if these officers will be charged with a wrongful shooting. If not, there was not enough evidence to say that the officers reacted recklessly. A man holding a baton is armed not unarmed. Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you!

Coulda, shoulda, woulda....are you foretelling the future? How can you possibly know if this could have happened to someone else? In your words exactly: You're looking at the 'spin' and continuing it. I can't believe that you honestly think that these boyscouts did their time and were rehabilitated. You are really naive. For your information, Joseph Guzman within a week after he got shot, beat up his wife to a bloody pulp. How's that for rehabilitation for you? He served his time well, don't you think? I'm done here too. You really shouldn't take this all so personal. Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you!
-
If they get paroled early, that's because of the parole board, not the judges. You should really take up your own advice when crying about about boyscouts not getting justice and cops getting away with, as you put it, murder. I don't need to protest. A judge already found these boyscouts not to be credible witnesses. What's there to protest? I'm not trying to bury a dead man. I think the public should know the truth, do you have something against a person that broadcasts the truth? I brought facts to the table and I backed it up with proof and that's that. Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you!

Why are you hell bent on trying cops who have been acquitted on all charges? He was never tried because you can't prosecute a deceased person. I Never have been arrested and I will try my best not to get arrested. Serving less than 4 years for possession of a firearm, drug sales, drug possession and armed robbery does not redeem these boyscouts. They did not serve the full extent of their sentence. They were REPEAT OFFENDERS who were paroled way too early. No thanks. Knock yourself out. Taking things kind of personal, aren't we? Even this guy doesn't protest the verdict:Dr. Boyce Watkins "I am not trying to make a verdict on the sean bell case because I was not there! I refuse to make a verdict in that case!" Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you!
-
That's odd. A judge didn't seem to have the same findings as you. 3 officers were found not guilty. Did you try their case in different court? In this different court that where their case was held, were you the judge of that court that found them guilty of killing a man? No one in this world has a right to kill anyone, cops or any LEO. In this case, judge cooperman found that they had every right according to their sop to continue shooting until the threat was eliminated. Judge cooperman didn't concentrate on an invisible gun. That night good ol' boyscout sean decided to use his car as a deadly weapon. What you seem to regard as an EXCUSE, a competent judge found them not guilty of all charges. Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you!

From your previous posts, you made it seem like these boyscouts were innocent people. Now you're admitting that they're boyscouts? Honestly now....you're counting Diallo and Bell whose deaths were more or less 10 years apart. You make it seem as if cops are always shooting fine young boy scouts every year. You didn't realize that St. Sean wouldn't do such things mentioned in that document. He worked in food kitchens, he was supposed to be a starting 3rd Baseman for the LA Dodgers but had to turn it down to take care of the sick and invalid of Queens. In fact the very night he died, he was searching for poor misguided souls to save in that strip club. So sad to lose such a fine upstanding citizen. Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you!
-
What these boy scouts did deserve was to serve their full sentence. They should of been sentenced for 10 years when they were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Guzman should have been sentenced for 10 years for the 1st offense and then sentenced 20 more years because he committed the second offense within a short time after the first offense. None of this would have happened had they served their full sentenced. Repeat offenders should be sentenced to the full extent and not get paroled early, period! Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you!

Acquittals in Sean Bell's shooting spark outrage

Is that what you're saying or is that what you think I'm saying? Let's get back to the point here. My question to you was: 1. How exactly have these drug dealers, that you are associated with, have acted ethically when it came to selling drugs to people? 2. What have these drug dealer done exactly to bring such honor to the code of drug dealers? Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you! -

I was referring to drug dealers not joe shmoes that commit petty violations. Wow, I'd seriously like to hear if other posters here feel the same way about your view regarding drug dealers. That's definitely a thread that's worth creating. Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you! -

Quite honestly JCD11235, I would rather not associate myself with people who engage in illegal activities. So educate us. Please, do tell....how do the ethical drug dealers that you know operate? What about them makes them ethical? Inquiring minds want to know. Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you! -

What code of ethics is that were you make illegal incomes? Are they reporting their income to the IRS? Illegal is bad. Illegal is not good in the USA JCD11235. You will get arrested, tried and maybe prosecuted and sentenced for doing illegal things. that's apples and oranges jcd11235. Being unethical in your ways does not make you do illegal things. What you are doing is an honorable thing. You are serving your community. You are representing the community in a very positive way. There should be more people like you in every town. And where exactly is the media getting this source of information from? They get their information from what was transpired in court. Therefore, what the media is feeding me is what I cannot or am allowed to see in person. That's all there is to it. Be it the plantiffs or the defendants...how can you prove that anyone lied on the stand? None of us can. Do you really think it's that easy to shut any unlawful location down? Where do you live? NY? You should know how many times a State Liquor Authority shuts down an unlawful location and then it reopens within a week or so. You think the community didn't try to shut that place down? This ain't no okee fenokee town where a place gets shut down it stays shut down for good. April, I see where you are coming from. You're preaching to the choir. The cops were found not guilty. The witnesses were not credible witnesses. The judge came to a verdict. They will not get a civil lawsuit. We can't change what happened that night. We can't change what happens going forward because the police weren't found guilty. Nothing will come out of this. I applaud anyone for trying to make a difference or trying to make changes and definitely for serving in their community. That's a very honorable thing to do. Bottom line is the judicial system be it fair or unfair made a decision to acquit the cops and closed the case. End of story. Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you! -

You see JCD11235 is referring to a different society of drug dealers. They are rather an elite group. There are those that honor a certain code. Sure, they sell an illegal substance but they only sell it to those that offer to buy it from them. Thereby, never having to push their drugs on people. They swear an oath on the drug dealer's bible to never ever ever sell to school children no matter how bad business is doing or how good business may be if they were to sell to school children. I believe the distributors have a contingency plan to buy back the drugs from an unsuccessful drug dealer if they pay a 15% restock fee. This way they will never ever sell to school children maintaining they code of honor. JCD11235, if I am wrong about this code of honor, please clarify. Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you! -

Bachelor party guys going to a shady strip club? That never happens! I wasn't the one who wrote this. This was written by a black person that blogged this in a hip hop community forum. I posted the link, you are free to comment on that blog site, if you wish. Read full blog What it boils down to is that this is enough information for a jury and judge to find him guilty and sentence him for it. Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you! -

This was enough information for a judge and jury to prosecute and sentence him with. Anyway, do you honestly think that a drug dealer would really have enough of a conscience to not sell their drugs to people who are under 18? Do you think that they hold such high standards or values as to whom to sell drugs to? Be it over 18 or under 18? Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you! -

April, I don't live in a big city. I don't know anything about NY or cops. If your city is hiring unqualified cops, go to your town hall and complain about it. Join in al sharpton's rally. You hold so much conviction over cops this and that, then do something about it. Let's be honest here, you're not going to change the world, you won't change the verdict, you won't change what happened that night. There are even black people that thought this criminals were bad apples. Even a black person said "What were they doing in a shady night club?" Read the blog. Open the picture file. I've already posted this in a previous reply to you. I have yet to hear what you have to say about it. I have yet to hear what you all have to say about it. Just what I figured....no comment. Here's a excerpt from the blog: Shit like this is why reparations will NEVER be a real political issue. There are just too many coons out there ready to act the damn fool for that second of shine. This also raises the question of what exactly where these dudes doing in a shady strip club that night. I still think the NYPD officers involved fucked the fuck up and deserve serious prison time for what they did, but Sean Bell and everyone in the car all had real criminal records (I'm not talking about jaywalking) and shit like this makes it seem like profiling only happens to "bad" black people. When Trent Benefield is the face of your tragedy it makes it harder to unify your cry for racial justice. For calling out your coon status and shedding light on the many social issues this case brings up, Trent Benefield is the Snitch of the Week. It's over for black people. Read the blog Again, I respect the judge's decision. I respect the american justice system. Even a black CNN legal analyst for CNN stood by the judges verdict having had prior court experience as a prosecutor. I didn't give them a complete pass. The credibility of the witnesses and judge cooperman did. I respect the justice system. Why would they? I go to titty bars all the time. However, I wouldn't go to one that I knew was an unlawful titty bar. There are even black people that thought this criminals were bad apples. Even a black person said "What were they doing in a shady night club?" Like I said, no one deserves to die. No one has the right to kill another person because that person wears a badge and carries a gun. Judge cooperman did not find the cops actions were reckless in any manner. He is a respectable judge with decades of experience trying criminal cases. I wasn't there that night. I'm not a criminal. I'm not a LEO. I'm not a judge. I'm not a lawyer. I respect the judge's decision because I respect the american judicial system. Don't say no to drugs, say no thank you! -
