CouchFreaks is tiny in size compared to WFFC in its heyday.
  3. Happy Birthday Florida girl!
  4. Any disaster that you can survive is an improvement in your character, your stature, and your life. What a privilege! This is when the spontaneity of your own nature will have a chance to flow. Then, when looking back at your life, you will... see that the moments which seemed to be great failures followed by wreckage were the incidents that shaped the life you have now. You’ll see that this is really true. Nothing can happen to you that is not positive. Even though it looks and feels at the moment like a negative crisis, it is not. - Joseph Campbell

  6. I have quit. I am moving on with my life. I thought I'd let those few folks who give a shit about me know what was up, so they wouldn't wonder why I'm not around anymore. I listed my reasons because people have asked. If what I wrote makes skydiving look bad... grow a skin and get the fuck over it. I'm entitled to my opinion on the sport that I've put 20 years of my life into. If you don't like that, fuck you. You are right. I've only been posting here for ten years. I'm basically a nobody around here. As you noted, I posted this thread solely to make a display and feed my tremendous ego. Have a nice day.
  7. Same here, it's one of the top three I've seen this year. Great story, acting, action, it has a little something for everyone rolled up in one quality film.
  8. As someone else mentioned www.jeepforum.com is THE place to go for any and all questions jeep. I've had a couple and currently have had a 2005 tj for about a year now. 6cyl, automatic and zero problems. If you are going to do any modifications like bigger tires, lift kit or anything spend the time doing research on that site so you don't go the wrong way and regret it.
  9. More specifically... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2832896;search_string=rags;#2832896
  10. Obviously the police cruisers fault for hanging out in the left lane even though he wasn't passing someone but Dave is right, with some more speed he would of cleared that overpass and been just fine
  11. Good to hear an update man, a few old names still lurk here!
  12. For a 30 year old in Hamilton county, no tobacco and not college student, Anthem BC/BS has a $2k deductible, 30% coinsurance plan for $66.38/month. www.ehealthinsurance.com 30% coinsurance is enough to bankrupt many in a major medical issue/event. Just something to keep in mind.
  13. Team FAF jet would be sweet....think about it. Negotiations under way It's only an 8 place but you gotta start somewhere!
  14. Sitting in first class seating at the front of Perris' ride is a nice touch compared to the floor of a dark cargo 727 though
  15. Whatever would we call that Dropzone? Perhaps something will rise from the ashes of this mess?
  16. Have you found your way over to the Speakers Corner by chance yet? You're gonna love it
  17. and you continue to ignore the fact that Doug runs CSC (a skyride dz) and ProSkydiving.
  18. If you would of took the dog back to the breeder and got your money back what would the "breeder" have done with the dog???
  19. Looking at the highs and lows in different parts of hawaii, I think I could do without ac or heat there!
  20. Over in the bonfire. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=3830813;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=50;
  21. The problem in Chicago is that one of the 3 local DZ's has very deep and strong ties to SkyRide. (not CSC) If CSC bailed on Skyride, literally this third DZ would get enough work for all the instructors to buy new BMW's. The SkyRide business in Chicago is huge. In Chicago, to walk away from SkyRide is to walk away from a LOT of money. Sure, it's easy to walk away from SkyRide when you're in a small center and the impact is minor. This is evident that most of the people throwing stones come from very small DZ's. It's a lot harder when it's making a significant impact to your business, and ultimately your family. It's awfully tough to walk away from a big pile of money and hand it, on a silver platter to your competition. That's exactly what everyone is suggesting. Doing so won't hurt Skyride either, because that third DZ has strong ties. As an aside, I would think that someone who wants to see SkyRide go away would be happy to see some ethical competition. As much as Doug doesn't think of his business this way, ultimately he is offering a competing booking agency with national exposure. I would think all of you would want to see him succeed. _Am What DZ's are you referring to that Accept sLyride? Inquiring minds want to know Skydive Midwest (approx. an hour north of csc) as previously mentioned in this thread
  22. Take a look at your words again and tell us how you expect everyone to believe what an honest and trustworthy businessman you are. You need to stop partnering with Skyride and make it known that you will not be a part of their scams and fraud if you ever expect to have a trustworthy business reputation on the proskydiving side of things. You can't just say your dropzone and proskydive business is unrelated because they are separate business entities. They are both your busineses and this is a small industry, everyone will put the connection together. Your reputation is YOU and how you run all your busineses. I have nothing against Doug or his business model of Proskydiving. I think it could be very successful if run in an ethical way but his partnership with a company(SKYRIDE) that he knows and admits is scamming people is a cloud over his business and ethical reputation that I think will haunt him in more ways than he realizes.
  23. Yep that's a good change. Now if they would just stop working with Skyride at his dropzone! That's some change I could believe in
