Let me expand on treatment that I use Fluticasone- prescription nose spray- thickens the nasal walls and doesn't let the allergens in every morning, this doesn't relive symptoms so if you already suffering it doesn't help. but if you use it everyday then it will prevent Patanol- prescirption eye drops for those days when you need a spoon to scratch your eyes Zyrtec- there honestly isn't anything better even in precription its not great but it can help with symptoms Steriod shot from Dr- I wish I knew the name of what I get, honestly with it I hardly need the above for 3 months.
-
If you've had them your hole life I'm sure you've gone through the over the counter stuff. I have the worst of anybody I know, but in the last few years I've found the gold. I get a shot from the Dr some sort of steriod. Holy crap for 3 months after I've got not a sniffle. after 20 years of misery wow. Also for minor stuff or in between my shots I have eye drops and flonase. these work pretty good all prescribed stuff

Ok good time for a test. Update your profile or redo another one with EXACTLY the same thing just significantly adjust your income and lets see what it says

Another dirty (or stupid) cop story....
randompoints replied to GogglesnTeeth's topic in Speakers Corner
here's one that going on right now in Dallas http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/032609dnmetcopstop.3e9c080.html Freaking crazy, I just wish they wouldn't play the race card so quick. I've not seen to many cops have respect for anyone no matter what color they are -

HAHAHAHAA I just a mental picture of you trying to fit into her rig. Like stuffing a mattress into a pillow case -
Does your Sabre2 open on or off heading more often?
randompoints replied to Rooky's topic in Gear and Rigging
you can jump mine its a little smaller than 135 though. I can make mine open on heading everytime. All it needs is for me to slow my packjob down a second. Eitherway, once it stands me up I just lean a bit one way or the other if it does start to do something and that keeps it perfect -
3 years for throwing a shoe - that's fucking stupid

not defending anything. just an observation If he had done that before the war to any world leader, he would have disappeared and been tortured to death. agree or not he got a trial and sentence -
Do I NEED an A license right off the bat?
randompoints replied to Mazz's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You don't NEED to get the A license, it just makes things easier, I have several friends with up to a thousand jumps without an A and they've done demo's and everything but of course their pretty old school most of their jumps were from the 80's. But usually the progress from AFF to A is only another 10 or so jumps. Even if you decide not to ever get an A the skills on the progression card need to be able to be performed. Most DZ's after you've cleared AFF consider you in that in between state not student not full jumper. If you show up 2wice a month and make 1 jump each time you can usually go for just slot + gear rental. Nothing wrong with that at all. As for being anti-social just bring beer we'll take care of that -
he said he checked it a different points. but it does depend on different things, a good king air pilot will def lose more altitude while skydivers exit since the tail is so low and the plane is so fast, gotta get the tail out of the way. We only lose a small amount of altitude in our otter though.
-
yes its the coolest. dad did my tandem and my aff. Hearing stories about stupid stuff, heck i was right there watching them do it from the time i was 1 til now. 2 3rd generation skydivers already have an hour of tunnel time. I'll take them up whenever their ready

No one wants to jump with a newbie :(
randompoints replied to katzg08's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
don't quit, move to Dallas you'll never hear anyone complain about not getting someone to jump with at any of the DZ's around here(SDD, 35, Caddo). that goes for cute blondes to fat dudes, unless your just an absolute ass we'll jump with ya -
Why can't I pull my front risers?
randompoints replied to GPSJane's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Lots of good tips here on how to reduce the pressure. I only have a couple of demo jumps on the Pilot and I found it to have the second highest front riser pressure of anything I jumped. I had it loaded at 1.3 on a 132 and could pull myself up and hardly affect the canopy. Ha try a Storm, that take riser pressure to whole new level on modern canopy. No i don't think front's make or break a canopy. I think both the Pilot and the Storm are great at what they do. Which is open like butter -
I tend to agree, you should know your landing before getting into the plane. BUT you WILL land off at some point its going to happen, and its not a bad thing. halfway back works decent, horizon sinking or rising works decent. Don't get caught with get thereites. To many people have been hurt trying to make it back or get closer and then whip it to get into the wind or hitting something when they have no outs. As your making your way back LOOK everywhere for outs even if you think your going to make it back. Everywhere means 360degrees and straight down. Had a friend killed because she didn't look for her out which was behind her. If your going to land off then fuck it land off. Doesn't matter if its half mile or 10 get on the ground safe, your going to get a car ride either way. Land and then bitch at the spot. If you were in charge of the spot then buy beer

Packing an isolated canopy
randompoints replied to Megatron's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Love the idea I did it myself when I started. I had about 1000 flat packs on f111 and no propack's when I get started. But still hadn't packed anything in 8 years. I got a copy of pack like a pro, some crown and 7, and packed about 50-100 times just as hackish said on some old f111 canopy. When I got my stuff in it fairly simple besides the slippery part of course. -
yep, isn't that what i said
-
I've seen a few people pack the mag risers like they were packing tuck tabs, with the main risers between the magnets, i think this would allow them open and close in freefall a bit more. I'm fairly certain the best way with mags is to have the main risers on top of the reserve risers, and the 2 flaps close on top. thats what I do and no problem even back tracking. or attempted back tracking

now that you've picked the correct shoe learn how to tie them http://www.shoe-lacing.com/shoelace/lacingmethods.htm i like the hidden knot lacing keeps them from coming untied and nothing to snag
-
again i agree, so we are talking about close to 120mph impact. No one has answered what they think terminal of a 1/4 to 1/2 pound water balloon is. there is no way terminal is anywhere close to 120 I agree it will do damage and hurt, but to kill or even more so "crater the earth" is a bit far fetched. If it killed it would take some extremly bad luck, crater is out of the question. as for how fast i can throw, as stated in an effort as kids to maximize impact and pain upon my sibling, don't overfill the balloon, you don't want to change the color much on expansion, this makes them very tough, you can then whip it very close to the speed of a baseball, half the time they just squash and don't pop and leave a nice welt. its like knowing how to roll a towel into a rat knot, if u do it right i can take the bark off of a tree and leave serious marks on a younger brother

LOL freaking great, damn no death or broken bones though. I think we've highjacked the thread
-
oooo should have thought of this sooner, with youtube and all the jackass ripoffs of course water balloon launcher to head would be there all alive unfort was hoping for the mystical decaptiation being advocated here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vjo2fJInn2o or bad audio great shot to the neck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1n9S8NZ2CFk
-
which is another way of saying what i was trying to, thanks. another thought a balloon with less water in it and with less mass hurts more because they don't break, i've been beaned by return fire and thats my experience. screw it all talk has me thinking about the good old days. i'm heading to the store and buying my balloon's and then heading to my brothers, THE WAR IS BACK ON BITCH :)
-
your right a water balloon launcher launches hard as hell, i'm willing to bet at close distance its way faster than terminal velocity. I guess the real question is how fast do you think terminal velocity of a water balloon is. I'm willing to bet tops is maybe 80-90. Look a spaceball (lead filled tennis ball) is way way heavier to reach 120. I bet good money i'm tossing at 70 which is as stated close to 90% of what i think terminal is. dent car's i can do it, break windows yep. dent the hard ass earth in texas hell no. give brain damage to my brother nah, of course we play rough and have done way worse to each other
-
Blah, don't belive it will crater the earth for a second. Lets not forget the balloon will pop well before it does that kinda of damage, as for a person hurt hell yea, kill it would take a perfect shot and bad luck. I've slammed a water balloon from point blank at full toss into my brothers head ton's of times, and I can chunk a baseball at 89mph. A balloon is not very aerodynamic i bet terminal velocity of your basic 1/4 to 1/2 pound water balloon is maybe 80 to 90, probably less, so I bet i'm tossing the balloon at 90% of that, and wow knocking my brother down and making him cuss no damage Lets not forget spaceball's are way heavier say a few pounds and have to use lead to get the speed to skydiver terminal. Water balloon just isn't going that fast in a fragile shell edited for spelling and spaceball reference

HA. I have one friend with a few thousand jumps with no license. He's not as active anymore but in the 80's before most of the rule changes he's done everything from night stadium jumps and competion crew. Everyone knows him and no one cared. As for night jumps the exact wording in the SIM "skydivers participating in night jumping should meet all the requirements for a UPSA B or higher" I know of a few DZ's that go ahead and make you get the B license for night jumps, but as USPA is concerned as long as you can meet the skill requirments your good for night's with an A
