  1. your satisfaction is still troubling to me, but i s'pose we can agree to disagree. it's not the brutality i find horrifying -- it's people's revelry in it. steve
  2. take the playstation away from him, dear... he's getting obsessed! steve
  3. all right, sheep boy, i'm calling you on this one. to what attitude are you referring? i spoke of reveling in death being ass, hate being poopy, and extremism sucking sack... you disagree? steve
  4. TOTALLY agree with you there, hands down. i wasn't trying to make a point that one side or the other was the problem; it was more about the specific attitude towards the taking of lives, i.e. ugly-but-gotta-be-done vs. gotta-hardon-over-the-thought-of-it. here's the shit, though... there is *no* way to compromise or settle with these types. hundreds of years of diplomacy and war alternating like perris ground winds (woohoo! made it skydiving related!), and where are we? do you honestly believe that this new initiative is going to bring an end to it all? since we're likely to have conflict there for years to come, methinks we just need to be prepared to take whatever action is most appropriate and effective for the situation. right now, it's armed response. steve
  5. they just didn't know what to lead you with... baaaaaaa steve
  6. holy shit, isn't that a capital offense or something??? steve
  7. mark, there's a clear distinction between doing your job as a soldier (thus killing in battle) without regrets, and actually seeking delight in the loss of human life. to rave and drool over footage of people whose identities you can't even know being killed, selfishly longing for the gratification of having been the one pulling the trigger, is appalling. in this case, what distinguishes your perspective from that of the radical extremist 'ragheads' you so love to watch dismembered from the comfort of home? you can default to 9/11 for reason, but they have dozens of tragedies (read: loss of civilian lives) of their own which they pin on the u.s. -- in their eyes, *we* drew first blood. do we then, whilst engaged in the necessary evil of armed conflict, develop our own extremist attitudes of hate and bigotry? what are we to gain? and where does it end? hate only begets more hate, my friend. it's a lesson we will probably never learn as a people, but as individuals we can incorporate this simple fact into our personal growth, making a difference in our own lives, as well as those around us. war is indeed hell. indulging one's self in its atrocities is a conscious leap into the world of the damned. steve on your own admission, you raised up the knife, and you brought it down ending another man's life. when it was done you just threw down the blade, whilst the red blood spread wider like the anger you made. i don't want this anger burning in me, it's something from which it's so hard to be free, and none of the tears that we cry in sorrow or rage can make any difference, or turn back the page.
  8. me? i'm forty-five, baby. steve
  9. hold on there, hosse... nobody said nuttin 'bout freely exportin'... dprk is considered by the u.s. and its allies as a dangerous rogue nation ("axis of evil" should ring a bell), and weapons sales to other countries also perceived as such comprise a significant chunk of its ailing economy; advertising their shipments of product is not in their best interest (think red and white bullseye). not to mention that their whole m.o. is secrecy and deception... about *everything* (even when the truth is blatantly obvious!). besides, i seriously doubt that we ourselves put up neon lights when we're shipping nbc weapons around (oh no, not us! ). steve
  10. here's a great exercise to get them calves in shape for snowboarding: 1. bare them feet. nekkid. 2. find an area with clear floorspace near a wall (for balance) 3. stand on your tiptoes, facing the wall 4. spread thumbtacks (or jacks or other small torture devices) under your heels and all around where you're standing 5. stay on your toes after just a couple of sessions, you should be good to go. steve
  11. is that an exotic delicacy... like guano? steve

  14. that's awesome, michele!!! i wish i'd get kewlio comments like that once in a while. seems the most i get is, "steve, you're so full of shit!" steve
  15. i can see your point, michele. it just struck me as a 'so-and-so intercepted a boat from colombia, and what did they find buried in the cargo hold??? cocaine!!!' sorta thing. and i'm like, bfd! steve
  16. c'mon folks, the only news here is that the ship was intercepted; such weaponry has been standard dprk export product to a number of middle eastern countries for years. this particular incident is much more eye-grabbing headline material than an earth-shaking indicator of things to come. steve
  17. why, that would be just disasterous! steve
  18. oh, and ladies? y'all are welcome to touch yourselves whilst doing so. vigorously. steve
