I originally allocated vacation from April 27th - May 1st to go to Rocky Point... but looks like everyone is backing out. I probably could tack on a few more days as I still have a ton of vacation left for the rest of the year. If I fly out Wednesday night I arrive Auckland on Friday morning. Departing Monday, I arrive LAX Monday. I love New Zealand! I visited 3 years ago and didn't want to come home. I've been wanting to return, but been waiting for the right airfare... Air NZ just announced round trip fare @ $798 - too good to pass up!

nope it was 3... A bear came thru base camp, the ranger was in hot pursuit behind it trying to scare it away. I had toiletries in my pocket that the bear could smell. We threw the toiletries to the side and the bear followed them. The bear then quickly turned to another base camp and stole a garbage bag sitting between to girls. Edited to add... When I lived in Japan I was attacked by a sea snake. When I visited New Zealand I was attacked by an eel.
