280lbs - WTF am I going to do?
Sangi replied to BjornTheBear's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Nonstop consumption of processed and fast foods over generations and super lazy lifestyle doesn't really help your nation.. That's what you get. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean -
Nuff said. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

Honestly, when I think to myself, there's really no point trying to defend myself here. The picture attached applies to practically every forum and discussion on the internet, dorkzone is no exeption.. Goodluck soaking in your ego's fellas

I am, the only distraction I can think is me watching out a bit more during the exits so I wouldn't knock the camera off, besides that once I'm outa the plane I'm focused on the jump and honestly most of the time I REALLY DO FORGET I'm wearing a cam. Balancing opinions in skydiving.

Sounds like a regular overreacted drama on the DZ.. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean -
Looks mega huge.. you need a smaller one.. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

I don't wanna be a dick or something, but the whole "experienced" thing going on DZ.com all the time makes me laugh.. 1200 jumps, 30 years in the sport and no idea how BASE gear works at all? Taken from a simple strole through the net (use the search function bla bla!): "Deployment bags prone to off headings and how would YOU like bag lock at 200 ft?" "What you don't see very often in freefall BASE deployment systems are deployment bags. There is a variety of reasons for this, but of primary importance is the need for an on-heading opening. Free-packing seems to give consistently better results than deployment bags." Note that BASE canopies are packed like skydiving reserves as well.. Faster, cleaner opening with a much smaller chance of off heading and no chance of bag lock. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

Care to explain what actually happened? "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean -
Yeh yeh.. Look at how many people have been using them in various sports for quite a while now, point me to a fatality list that's specific to these cameras.. If you're worried about these little things, maybe you shouldn't be skydiving, because it's a DANGEROUS activity and it might kill ya! Bowling anyone? Bummer man. This is my GoProHD setup.. http://i857.photobucket.com/albums/ab131/IcarusPilot/GoProsetup1.jpg http://i857.photobucket.com/albums/ab131/IcarusPilot/GoProsetup2.jpg As you can see I'm using the default mount that comes with it, but I also have a small plastic strap routed through some holes I drilled in the helmet and a pullup cord through the plastic strap and then through the top plastic thing (that you snap shut) on the camera case (took this idea from a colleague skydiver). This increases my chances of saving the camera if it gets knocked or whatever (it already happened to me once during a 3way train exit when I got pulled out the door like a ragdoll without properly bending over, luckily nothing broke off). Yeh yeh, you will say "what if you get your lines snagged and they don't rip off your cam and put your neck in danger", the snag hazard is not high if you don't put your head in an ankward position during the opening and I can always unclip my helmet if it doesn't break my neck first "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today."
