Congrats on your solo! And how funny you'd post tonight. One of my co-workers is making a tandem for her upcoming birthday and just this afternoon we were watching skydivingmovies.com of different tandems and came across you and your wifes tandem vid! Very nicely put together. Listening to your wife scream on exit was classic but it didn't deter my coworker.!!! cheers, Buck

2 hours 41 minutes with trailers and all 3 plus hours. It was ok nothing great and they butchered the story pretty well too. Decent special FXs, but if its action and battle scenes you want rent Braveheart or Lord of the Rings 2. ok, saw it......hmm. I give it 6 outta possible 10. They did hack the story pretty good. Great fight scenes though. "Gladiator" definitely kicks it's butt.... Total time should have been limited to 2 hours max.. Buck

I'm going tonight.....Does it really last almost 3 freakin hours?!!! Buck

Well, it is a Lycoming engine with Champion fine-wire spark plugs. Despite that, I'm impressed that it got my fat ass off of the ground. Jus fuckin with ya! I've done the same exact thing, well sorta, cept' it was a twin turbine, and oh it was over water, WTF!, it was over water!!!!! Shark!!!!!!

You might be a redneck if: You dangle from a Piston "single" engine helicopter with a low enertia rotor....nuff said! Looks like fun though! Buck

And to add additional info for some of you historians. This came out today on AOPA.org Legendary test pilot Pete Knight dies at 74 May 13 — Pete Knight, a pilot with astronaut wings earned during his high-altitude flights in a North American Aviation X-15 rocket plane that reached a scorching 4,520 mph (the 1967 record still stands), died of leukemia on May 7. He was 74. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross for an X-15 flight earlier in 1967 when he landed safely after suffering an electrical failure at 173,000 feet while doing Mach 4.17 that shut down all on-board systems. The Vietnam combat pilot and former Palmdale, California, mayor was a state senator at the time of his death, known for his defense of conservative values. Most recently he was fighting to restore the Pledge of Allegiance to schools. See the profile on the Web site.

NASA contractor.....but so is just about everyone else here. I did meet the project manager for Hubble. But, probability they could/would re-task Hubble, low. If I see him again, I CAN ask though... Buck

I'll see if that can take place. B2

Who is responsible for ensuring troops are properly trained and understand the mission? Who is responsible for monitoring their performance? Good thing too. Especially when you go to war wearing your "white hat" to liberate a population that didn't ask to be liberated. Its unprecedented for the US to invade a sovereign nation that hasn't attacked or threatened it. The troops ARE wonderful, but don't get taken in by the spin from the top. I'm fairly level headed. I can make informed decisions now just like I did when I was in uniform for 23 years......thank you very much. Buck

Well, I gave a refresher class to astronaut John Young the other day. I can ask him about it if ya wish.......He's of course on the inactive roster, however he is definitely active here at NASA. Some highlights of his career: He walked on the moon in 72', Apollo 16 and flew the first STS mission. He's a helluva nice guy to boot.... Buck

I really don't think it was "encouraged" as you say. We are talking about a few "untrained" troops that were not following policy and/or the Geneva Conventions. Anyway, sorry to say, but that type of activity has occured in EVERY war, not just this one. And if you believe it was in just this war, you are sorely mistaken. It's just with media/access to media that is almost unprecedented in this war, everything is out there in the open. I'm watching the town hall broadcast of Gen Myers and Rumsfeld "live" from Baghdad this morning. I am SO proud of all those troops over there, and absolutely beaming just watching this broadcast. God bless all the troops.....! Buck

. Do you believe that there are now *less* terrorists in Iraq than before? Caveat: I was NOT behind the U.S. going into Iraq. However, we are there now. Are we creating more terrorist? Reference above post to first question. It all boils down to a simple fact. These terrorist _are_ not_ going to stop....period..... No matter if we/the coaltion stop, they will not stop. Is this a Catch-22? prolly....... Buck
-
I say release them all. "And we aren't screwed." Some are embarassed yes, and a ramp up of terrorist violence will probably happen. However, this will just lead to further action/reaction by the coalition and hopefully provide better location info. Not the best scenario, but a plausible one. Buck
