  1. I think there may be a DZ in Maryland that does..or Delaware..someone near us in PA once called and mentioned they didnt want to drive to Maryland to skydive..Also, Canada is not to far away, I know there are DZs there that allow Under Age Tandems. -swooper120
  2. I do a little of both...When I grab my rears..my thumbs are to the inside of the riser..and I pull out and down..but none one more than the other! When I am carving with rears, I use more of a downward input with the rears. XAOS27 - 78..loaded at 2.1...and anywhere from a 270 to 360 setup. -swooper120
  3. I was 19 when I hit 1000 jumps, started at 15...Like Lew said...it will be probably be one of the Mullins boys..or some other DZO's kids, it helps having a dad that owns a DZ!!! -swooper120 woh!! where did he come from??
  4. Their website is good until 2012 I believe...I checked the whois yesterday...basically, there is a good chance they know about this, because their email is probably not working correctly, or the amount of incoming mail is down tremendously. Just wanted to let them know...I dont have their number off hand..and being in the Internet /Website business..when a site is down, it really sucks.
  5. I have tried from 3 different ISP connections..and I get a network solutions Domain Park page..and I cant email them....is the sunpath page cached on your machine? or is it something up here in the northeast? -swooper120
  6. If anyone talks to Sunpath today...let them know their website is down...looks like a DNS or web Hosting change...I tried emailing them yesterday with no luck..and their site is still down today..

  8. I once made a Hop and POP..freefall was through snow....then ice and hail ..and then rain under part of my canopy ride...after about 500 feet it all went away, one of the most painful, but awesome jumps I was ever on!!! Good stuff!!!
  9. All the above posts talk about all the same things I have experienced with both canopies..I jump and love my Xaos27-78, WL=2.1, swoops great on rears, front riser pressure is just right, and the openings are awesome..camera flying or FreeFlying One thing, is Icarus utilizing Vectran or HMA lines on the VX now? I havent jumped a "newer" VX, or recall if they are using HMA lines..and the HMA Lines Precision installs on the Xaos are SUPPOSED to last longer than Vectran lines..so that can also be considered.. Demo them both and see what you prefer!! Also the customer service I received from Chris at Precision when ordering my Xaos and a buddies was excellent.
  10. Thanks, all the information you guys have posted is excellent. I appreciate the info and time you took to post. Thanks -swooper120
  11. ...im ready for the lashings... Coming from a Windows Programming background.. I have a .dbm file, that I want to import or convert into a SQL or access database..is this possible? I have searched the net and newsgroups, and cant find any real info. My manifest programs use the dbm file and I am currently writing my own custom app with a SQL background...and if it all possible I would like to import all my customer files into the sql db from the dbm file.. Is there a program or exe, that can do this? or I am dead in the water? Thanks in advance? swooper120
  12. sorry man..I set the camera to manual focus
  13. So I got my Canon Rebel 2000 mounted on my BatRAk..cool everything works out..Search these forums and print some of the posts about the settings..set the camera and do some trial and error.. Here is the setting I used, TV, 350, let the camera assign the rest..have the original lens..35x80..400 FILM...I set the camera to manual focus and manually focused the camera based on the distance I planned to be in freefall and went and made my skydive. I took all the pics and they came out blurry..??? What should I try next? The manual tells some info and recommended settings, but we are talking Freefall speeds here. Anyone out there using a Rebel 2000 who wants to post their setting and tips, this young photo wannabe would be appreciative!!! Also, any other tips would be cool. FYI - planning on buying the 24mm wide angle lens..just want to get the camera figured out first!! Thanks in advance

  17. I jump a Xaos27 - 78, and I love it..the openings are awesome, turns are crisp, and on a rear-riser landing, seems you can swoop forever sometimes.. Previous Canopy Experience: Fury 220, Ariel 170, Sabre 135, Jedei 136, Stiletto 120, Icarus FX 93, Velocity 84..and now the Xaos Also, jumped other various canopies too..(Heatwave, Vipers, Stilettos, Jedeis, Samurais, VX) Good stuff!!! Enjoy!!
  18. I just purchased this camera for stills..mostly tandem and RW photography.. Canon USA Rebel 2000 Canon 35-80mm Lens As I search previous posts, I see alot of info on the 28mm and 24mm...which is fine...but can some explain to me, with the above camera and lens, do I need EF or FD f2.8 lens (24 or 28) ? Mounting with a .5 - .42 wide angle video lense Any help or advice would be appreciated.

  22. Love my 78...have jumped a Velocity 79,84 and Icarus FX 83, 93, VX 79..and the XAOS has the best openings of all of those in my opinion..Front riser pressure is just right, turns are crisp, rear risers landings are awesome too...the canopy loves to plane out and glide forever...I definitely recommend it!!
