Well, anonymous poster, it means that they have to close down dropzones near an infected area, because most DZs are in rural areas! If a jumper lands in a field or whatever, he or she can carry the virus back on their shoes, canopy, anything! It is very contagious to the animals, even a tiny amount is dangerous. I think its airborne possibly? Anyway, the disease hasn't crossed into the human chain, but it wipes out so many livestock that it devastates the economy. If it came to the US we would be up a shit creek! We have way way more livestock (cattle in particular) than Europe. The disease can affect any cloven hoofed animal, is that correct? So you see, anon., if a dz is closed because of foot and mouth disease, it affects the skydivers! I don't want it to come over here, I am glad they are stepping up "safety procedures" at customs coming into the US.

well, let me just say that Barry White SUCKS...(no offense intended) speaking of getting in bed and music, i think Orbital is the way to go! that is awesome to have sex to! My two all-time *favorite* groups are The Dave Matthews Band and Depeche Mode just a few of the things that come to mind: techno/electronic-based music - Orbital, Paul Oakenfold, Fatboy Slim, John Digweed, Hybrid, Moby, Ken Ishii, Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Meat Beat Manifesto The Trainspotting soundtrack (first one) Godsmack, Disturbed,Tool, Korn, Metallica (all of it), Rage Against the Machine, Deftones, System of a Down, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden (Badmotorfinger) The Clash, Rancid, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Descendents, Offspring, Greenday... Pink Floyd, Creed, Lenny Kravitz, Rusted Root, 311, The Pixies, Sugarcubes/Bjork, Dido, Macy Gray, Noa, Cocteau Twins, The Cure I like some new age music, especially if it has an Oriental feel to it, I like to listen to that stuff before I go to sleep man I have over 300 CDs in my collection! this is too hard!

I was reading a copy of Parachutist the other day (I think it was February's issue) and noticed something about collapsible kill-line pilot chutes. I knew they needed more frequent inspection than a "regular" PC. However, this article stated that if a kill-line was manufactured to just the right length, it would "soon start to shrink..." etc. How soon is soon? If I cock the PC and see green isn't that OK? If it starts to become difficult to acutally get some green? I am going to ask my rigger this weekend anyway, but I wanted the opinions of some of you beforehand...particularly because I am going to repack my main this week (thanks for the pack job Merrick...but those statements about some 180-deg. off heading openings made me nervous!) and I would like to know what to look for when I inspect it myself...I have only made about 20 jumps on this new rig so I wouldn't think it would need anything yet, but better safe than sorry! Sis

Glad to hear you are back in the air! I read your other post and I was hoping you would get out to the DZ and DO IT! Have fun! Sis
-
That's it! You did it now, to hell with the leash, we are going for the bed of nails, burning candle wax, and riser burns...LOL Skreamer, do you hug your girls the same way you hug that rig??? Looks like a mighty comfy position to me! Sis

I'm going to Quincy as well! I am taking the Pimp Mobile and as many people as I can find to ride along! Sis

Now now now!! skreamer...don't go starting any dirty rumors!! hehe I had a great time up there this weekend...Pammi and Merrick are great! I wish I had more time at the DZ but I needed to spend time with my parents. Blue Ones, Sis

hey mike! no i didn't check out the airtoons link yet, because i was at work and the durn hotline rang. but i really want to! that website seems like it would be so funny! my favorite isn't the God comment, my total absolute favorite is the paragraph where they talk about how fast you are going! with the train going 120 mph and you are on top and it goes through the tunnel but you do not! this is the killer: "Make no mistake, you will be 'motoring.'" HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! ROFLMAO!! make no mistake, you will be motoring!! dude i can't stop! i thought, how freakin' true is that shit? i never thought about terminal velocity that way! AND we go even faster than 120! that is SOOOO not terminal velocity anymore! not really anyway...i did 175 on my back the other day! woohooo! ok gotta go! gotta go to bed to make it to the airport tomorrow! oklahoma...here i come...i will at least see the family even if the weather pokes us in the ass too much too jump! ajalsdfjadfjadfaef damn i am a crazy freak luv ya'll!!!!! blue skies???!!!!?? Most of my friends here in the area where I live are whuffos. For a year now they have been listening to me jabber on about skydiving...April 1 is actually the anniversary but I was going on about it well before the tandem! haha They are pretty cool about it, most of them will listen to my stories, and even ask questions. They watch the videos with me over and over again. I am big partier (duh - didn't need to tell you that, huh?) anyway, I love to throw big parties at my house after the bar closes...and it never fails, the attendees always end up watching Good Stuff and Chronicle III...if they are still agreeable I will pop in my videos of me, but by this time, all the guys three times my size have tried on my rig (geeks!!that is freakin' hilarious to watch, too) and are so drunk they are slobbering on it, so I put it all away where it is safe... All my other friends are you guys and people at dropzones all over. When I go to Dallas I have a nice fat selection of jumper friends to hang out with! blue ones, sis

Tee, what an idea! I can't believe you did that! hahahaha too cool, too cool.... sis

I have a Factory Diver and its used, almost time for a new one I think...anyway, it falls out because the pocket is worn and more loose than it used to be I guess....anyway, after that incident when it fell out, I have started putting a little piece of cloth in the pocket (on the far side of the audible) and it stays in fine. I am the only person I have ever met whose audible falls out, I didn't realize it was common. Mine only fell out if I held the helmet upside down when I didn't have it on. Speed Racer, I did the exact thing you are. I didn't plan to get a Pro-Track, but then I saw someone else's and saved enough money on my rig that I could get the Pro-Track. Another thing: I don't as yet have the software, I don't think everyone who buys a Pro-Track is setting themselves up to spend another $100. I only have close to 40 jumps so I don't have any need for that software yet. Maybe one day I will, but for now, the little Pro-Track is a bad ass toy by itself! Sis

lucky you! have fun and be safe! hope you get to jump! sis

Well...I must say I am hurt! You started to fall in love with my posts and now...you hate me?? Maybe you'll forgive me, even after you find out that the reason I don't like the Sharks is the same reason you don't like the Stars! Ed Belfour rules...and they treat us so shitty when we are down there because of him...I just can't respect that! Eddie is...unique. He has a horrible temper, is very withdrawn from everyone, but he is a bad mother in the net. I know what he did when he left to go to the Stars wasn't cool, but he did what he had to do. Otherwise, I have nothing else against the Sharks...in fact I probably hate the Red Wings way more...hell, I might even hate the Avalanche more! But all those teams are our rivals! These are the only teams I don't like by the way...and don't even start with that ice hockey in texas crap, because california ain't no canada either! lol can we kiss and make up? Sis oh, P.S. Let me add I have been a hockey fan for years, I am not a Stars fan simply because they won the Stanley Cup. I watched for years before, and I KNEW they would win it one day! I was right! ;) I really respect Ken Hitchcock's coaching style, and I like all the guys on our team. I haven't watched this season as much as I would have liked because of the hours I work...at the domestic violence shelter we don't get cable and I work 4-midnight so that pretty much eats up my hockey time! I got one of those applications in the mail and promptly threw it right in the trash, along with the 800 other applications that came in the mail that day. I just now got out of credit card debt and I intend to stay that way...of course it wouldn't matter, because they wouldn't give me one anyway.

I like KMX, it tastes better than red bull and actually seems to work...now i usually stock up on these kick ass things they sell at convenience stores: Ginseng Energy Now! is what they're called, and the package is silver and bright green...they are .99 cents but I can take those and within 1 hour my hangover is ten times better...I buy them before I go on my skydiving trips, and make sure I have one for each day I am going to be jumping, they saved my life before, I am telling ya! There are different varieties but I like the ginseng one best...it has all kinds of shit in it...try one if you see them somewhere sis

i will drink whatever kind of beer is handy, but i prefer the dark beers, or the imports. i agree that you have to get as much alcohol in as quickly as possible, so these dark beers help that...face down in the fire early? no way...i can drink the cold dark beers fast and still go till dawn...bad sign, probably, but true...i have always hung out with the guys and then i started skydiving so it was even worse...they didn't believe i could keep up, but i do...damn 12 pack won't last long...i have to have my OWN 12 pack regardless...whoever said something about jagermeister..YOU ROCK! jagermeister is da shit...so is jose cuervo, but i have to be careful with him...or maybe i should say, other people have to be careful around me when i am drinking cuervo...damn its 6 PM, i have to work 5 more hours (at least i get off an hour early) and then its beer thirty! hehe...i am flying to oklahoma tomorrow so i don't have to withhold comsumption this evening...usually from midnight friday night until 7 AM saturday i am driving to the dz...not a good idea to get lushed ya know? Texas DPS officers are mighty cocky bastards...hey speaking of cock, what's this about a piss hard on? i thought you guys only got those in the morning when you woke up (i think this is GREAT) i am going to have to be more observant next time i am around a bunch of guys drinking beer, to see if they are pitching a tent or what! LOL Sis (sorry Speedy, i know you started a new thread for beer, but i just had to post to this one, call it lack of self-control or something like that)

i gotta say all you europeans and your weird sports! cricket? polo? rugby? water polo of all things? oh and let's not forget soccer...americans like soccer too, but we don't go ape shit over it and start killing each other, starting riots and all that business...and god bless canada, i like canada, but i do think riots over hockey are a little excessive too...ice hockey is my favorite sport to watch (other than skydiving) and i get pretty damn pissed off at scotty bowen sometimes and i pretty much stay pissed at anyone on the sharks or the coyotes, but i haven't ever gotten destructive over it... hehe! i am going to get it for this one! yee-haw! i'm proud to be an american, where at least i know i'm free...and i can um, watch my government intrude where they aren't wanted, and um...ok never mind... LOL Sis

the only thing i have to add is that i am told you cannot wear your own jumpsuit at the one in vegas (was is speed racer that said take your own?) the owner of the dz where i did my training went there last year and they wouldn't let him or his wife wear their own suits. he said it was because the one in vegas isn't as good as the ones elsewhere, and the wind power won't hold you up unless you wear their giant balloon suit things... i haven't been there so i am just going on heresay here...i imagine that any wind tunnel with any jumpsuit would help a lot though, i really want to get my ass in one of those things, but it hasn't been convenient yet! sis

hey aren't there any buildings tall enough for us to BASE off of there? for example...that infamous stratosphere we were talking about earlier? this would give us a good excuse for wearing our rigs around town...frankenrig and freak's rig J.G. at least ours have names, huh shark?
-
that's what i was thinking, froggie! although we could say, hypothetically speaking...how often would you etc.
-
good one, frank! hehe! uh, except the nakie woman bit...i think...wait a minute, uh...um...nevermind let's not go there

hey i'm not bragging, ok, its my dad, not me LOL just playing the game right along with you guys! you didn't *really* think i was pissed did 'ya? heehee! i don't really live in texas anyway, because we are way up here at the top where it actually SNOWS! it gets about 250 in the summer so i guess we qualify as part of texas then...otherwise we're just sandwiched between new mexico and oklahoma up here in the fryin' panhandle its ok to piss off mike 'cause he's on his medication. that is why he is back posting to the forums, iona wouldn't let him back on till the dosage was regulated again...
