    Most of the endangerment laws I've been able to find use the term "substantial risk" The person who chose to be restrained was under observation in a public place. Butterflies flying up his ass causing explosive constipation might be possible, but I don't think it's a "substantial" risk, much like that list of what-if's you're throwing out.     What if "ifs" were "fifths"? Everybody would be drunk. Nothing would lead me to think that the scenario you presented is what happened. Anyone can stretch and alter and misapply to support their position-you have yet to convince me that the way it was handled was not one of the best possible ways to resolve it. It's scary to me that people would prefer to pass their responsibilities to sweep their own porch to others. Even if it were a more serious crime-say someone broke in to my house. I would expect legal authorities to write the reports required, but I would expect his heirs to come clean up the bodily fluids he leaked on my carpet. As long as they did that, we're even. No need to start a civil suit for emotional distress or some bullshit like that. Handle your own business whenever possible, as much as possible. Authorities exist to protect the rights of those who can't protect their own. You are only as strong as the prey you devour

    I just usually say that I've got some nearby errands to run, should I come back in 1/2 and hour, one hour? What works for them. I try to use an understanding tone and point out that I'm not complaining, I just need to effectively use my time. That being said, I only go to the doc every few years. I go to the ER more often and they usually take me back quickly and at least stop the bleeding. You are only as strong as the prey you devour

Plea is a legal process term that you try to apply to a situation that didn't enter the legal process because it doesn't fit with your attempt to make your position even remotely valid. Another tenent in the Tau of Divot, right up there with "When entertaining customers: The night shift girls are prettier but the daytime dancers are more open to negotiation".     Sorry, I meant police, authority, charges level of attention. I would expect people to say-well, seems fair enough and go about their day.     By Quade's rather broad definition, anyone that doesn't cower behind the skirts is a vigilante. But, what do you base your "coward" opinion on? In my eyes, the commander acted with honor and compassion and is very worthy of respect. I like it when people quit sitting around whining "Somebody should do something" and get up and go do something. Accountability. Hold yourself and others accountable.
