You don't need a zoom feature for skydiving video. Most jumper videos use a wide angle lens anyway, which would be like zooming out even further. Zoom can be useful when filming landings if your subject is far away, but just encourage them to land closer & it'll solve that

Mine's available. Only about 200 jumps on it... DOM early 2007. It needs a trip to PD for an inspection & some minor repairs though: It got hung over Brian P's head & cutaway at CSS last year, has approx 2" hole on bottom skin near trailing edge. And it picked up a couple typical line burn holes in the center cell top skin near the center ring last year. It's available as-is, or you could wait til I get it back from PD. I'll be in DeLand next week so I'm planning to drop it off at PD while I'm there. colors r/w/bl mesh slider factory tail pocket It flies faster than average... it worked well in center line of the 100-way

Runing a multiple display on your computer? Help please!

What video card do you have? Some drivers add options for different profiles... so you can just click the icon in the tray to choose a profile quickly -
In the CX7 I get 1/2 hour per 4-gig card in highest quality mode. So it should be 1 hour for an 8

Plus some expensive gold-plated RCA cables are marked for directional orientation, claiming the signal flows better one way than the other. You don't get that kind of high tech for $1.99

I think those with imagination simply shifted to the creation side of games. My roommate has been in school learning 3D animation for 3 years now. It's not easy to take polygons and make 'em into something that draws people in, making them feel immersed in a world... a world that started in your head as a vision.

You're about 270 lbs out the door, so I'd say go with a 260 size. That will slow things down for you compared to your current 210 canopy. If you go with the Manta just make sure to specify ZP fabric. It'll give better glide and flare than the F111 fabric and will last longer.
-
A ZP Manta 260 would be a good choice, or Sabre2 260. The Manta is more affordable, Sabre2 would be more fun... room to grow into it. Openings would probably be more consistently soft under the Sabre2. If the Spectre were available in 260 then I'd say that's exactly what you're looking for, but 230 is the largest size listed. The 230 may suit you ok, but I don't know your canopy flying experience or skills. Is that 245 lbs exit weight or body weight?

Wide angle lenses for high definition
parachutist replied to moreton's topic in Photography and Video
HDR-CX6 and CX7 are same (Euro/US versions). I suggest searching through the CX7 threads for info about mounting to helmets and lens ideas. Here's a thread about a single-element lens similar to the Liquid you're asking about, usd on HD cameras: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3073797 -
Nah, I know some cool people who enjoy the cushier openings provided by Dacron, and we CRW dogs like the doesn't-slice-through-flesh properties of Dacron as opposed to the razor wire feeling that other types of line exude when wrapped around an arm and pulled tight.
-
Yes, that idea was beautiful IMO. Those work great for maintaining trim, has long wear, and seems to reduce chances of knots with brake parts (rings, toggles, risers) during opening. So why not use dacron lines for everything? Because the size of dacron line increases pack volume and drag. Two lines of 400 lb however is a worthwhile compromise outside of swooping competition. Also Dacron can stretch out of trim a bit, as opposed to spectra which shrinks... but in my experience it's not enough to matter when used for brake lines.

No way. It's like congealed porridge with a suppressed taste. It almost has a flavor, but you never really find it.

Just a plain old shower would make me happy. I haven't had one in over 6 weeks You might want to go ahead and get on that. Doc said I can try that tomorrow... he just pulled the stitches out yesterday

Anyone used this in a video edit?

What sort of budget are you dealing with here? Do you really need a notebook? In my opinion if you want performance in an affordable system, it doesn't come in a notebook chassis. When it comes to speed, notebooks are always lacking. You can buy a top-of-line model notebook that almost matches performance of a fast desktop system, but you'll pay 2 to 3 x the price, and still it's just almost as fast. All CPUs in notebooks get hot. The way Intel deals with that is by dynamically adjusting speed of the CPU. Interpretation: when you start rendering and the CPU is chugging away it'll get smokin hot and the system will get alarmed & protect itself by slowing the CPU down. Which means slower processing. CPUs in desktop systems have big heatsinks with big fans. They can run full speed without hiccups... for a lot cheaper. But that's just my opinion. Many people feel the portability of a laptop more than makes up for slow progress bars.

I had that problem a while back. DSE informed me that it's all about the compression... you need good software to produce quality encoding. Low end software will make a DVD that you can play, but it'll look choppy. I bought a copy of Sony Vegas Movie Studio and I've been happy with the results. They have a free trial version online if you'd like to compare results with your other software: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/products/product.asp?pid=447 And change out the USB cable to 1394 as suggested by others

Is the r-max manual available online?
-
Precision delivers the r-max with wrap-it links as standard equipment (they charge $40 more for subbing in stainless links & grommets). Manufacturer approval is good enough for me. Here's a link to the r-max order form with soft links listed: http://www.precision.aero/OrderForms/Order%20Form%20r-Max%20pdot.pdf A few years ago I asked flight Concepts about using PD slinks with their reserves, because I opened up a reserve and found Slinks were installed on a Firelite. Flight Concepts said NO, they approve what is in the Flight Concepts manual (#5 SS maillon rapide links). Because that's what the system was tested with when TSOd and they certainly didn't want to go approving parts that Flight Concepts hadn't tested. Made sense to me: go by what's in the manual.

Very nicely done story.

That was pretty good. OMG I knew it!!! is my fave there

No. What's wrong is putting up some 3-word subject that makes no indication whatsoever about the actual contents. The way I read this subject it says "I'm posting this because I need some attention from whoever is sucker enough to open this spam to find out wtf it's about". /rant 2007 3:10 to Yuma was pretty good too
