    ASL, what a wonderful language. I know some, but when you don't have anyone to practice with, you lose it very fast. My niece was married to a deaf man, they tried to teach the family ASL. Some of us paid attention and tried and some didn't, so....if you can't sign to someone, you don't learn very well.     Has anybody here read the book "Fast Food Nation"? I am about 1/3 of the way through it, it will open your eyes as to what is in some of our foods and how it is processed.     No red meat for me. It's been years since I ate any red meat. I do eat chicken, fish, shellfish. Every once in a while I will eat pork, but not often. When I'm missing having a burger, I'll have a turkey burger or chicken burger. When a recipe calls for ground beef I will substitute ground chicken or turkey or even some of the veggie meat substitute.     Exactly what I'm trying to say! I'm beginning to think that maybe the tm's weren't 'friendly' enough? It's not the dz at fault here, she has to start to realize, she will have bad landings, but as long as they're tandems she can blame someone else.     I think what bothers me the most is her bad mouthing the DZ because she got a little bruised on her landing. She has to expect some soreness, sometimes, doesn't she? She says she doesn't like it there, they aren't friendly, she got hurt, etc. She just got back from Hawaii and did a tandem there and had a lot of fun, but when she talks about it, it is mostly about the tandem master and what a repoire she had with him! I sometimes think she would do this just to say "I'm a skydiver". Anyway, I guess I've ranted enough!     When I mention the risks (like breaking a leg, etc.), she says, "Well, now you're scaring me, I don't want to hear that". Well, I think she does have to hear it, because she talks about possibly taking AFF. I know it's all about the fun and thrill, but you must think about the danger and then weigh the risks and go for it anyway because it's a risk you want to take. I've heard her complain she got a little bruised and sore on one landing, so therefore she doesn't like that particular dropzone. The last time she did a tandem there, she complained the TM didn't do anything "fun". I'm willing to take the risk, but I think I'm a little more informed than she is about it.     Did any of you think about or realize the risks of skydiving, before you became a skydiver? Or did you enter into the world of skydiving for the thrill and think about or realize the risks later? I wonder because of some remarks that a friend of mine has made, and it bothers me, so I thought I would ask.     All of us here look forward to anything Michele writes. She writes with such passion. I really don't think her "reputation" will be at stake here. Everyone loves her. Everyone has their own private thoughts, dreams, fantasies, whatever..... but to be able to write them...........well, we know she can do that very well.     She has a Minnesota accent??? I'm not a morning person.......how does one wake up so chipper in the morning??? I mean even before the coffee, she's 'chipper'? J Aggiedave was quoting from the move Fargo, although Fargo is in North Dakota, the movie took place in Minnesota, don't cha know. Judy I know. My relatives in Minnesota, didn't quite care for the movie though. I thought it was a Great Movie! I thought his post was very funny!     You 'think' you'd want to meet me? I'd want to meet Michele, Muenkel, VanillaSkyGirl, Skybytch, pds, Ladyskydiver, Jt, Wendy, Sunshine, Betsy and....well everyone!!!! I can't keep naming them. I've met Skymama, Amazon, Weid, MarkHarju, Casch, Freeflyguy(I think?) while at Kapowsin (did I leave anyone out?) I missed meeting Betsy, when I was at Eloy.     Fresh herbs

    There is nothing like growing your own herbs! The Basil is wonderful fresh. I have my own small herb garden, so I use a lot of fresh herbs. A really good one is Lemon Verbena, absolutely wonderful scent! The tomato/cashew recipe sounds really good, as I have more tomatoes than I know what to do with, and that only from 2 plants! I have a yellow Roma Tomato that I have made some tomato sauce with and can't wait to make pasta with a 'yellow' sauce!     I'm not having any problem at all, getting into Hotmail or getting on MSN. I do have dial up, though. Have you checked to see if you are signed into Passport? Edit to add: I went and looked at the MSN homepage and I don't see anything about Passport anymore.
