Hey, great picture. I just got back from watching my son finish the Arizona Ironman! WooHoo! He placed #810 out of 1600 something, that finished! Grueling race, took him 12 hours, 54 minutes. I will never forget the day a neighbor boy showed up at our house for help. His arm was bleeding and he didn't quite know what happened. We were the 'contact' for the kids should anything happen while Mom was at work. We took him to the ER and it seems that he had been shot with a pellet gun! It went almost completely through his upper arm. We kind of thought a neighbor boy across the street was shooting his pellet gun, we aren't sure if he deliberately aimed it or it was an accident. To read this story, I'm glad it wasn't more serious for our neighbor. J -------------------------------------- Sometimes we're just being Humans.....But we're always Human Beings.

(((((((((((( HUGS ))))))))))))))))) That's some scary stuff here, Chris. It's good to see you write this with a little humor in parts though. It sounds as though ambulance rides should offer 'frequent miles' programs. Headaches are sometimes unbearable, but I can't imagine them as severe as you are experiencing. Careful with the percocet but take them as needed. I know some here will say 'enjoy', but seriously, know the consequences of addiction. My wisdom?.... hang in there. That really is a personal decision and never an easy one. I believe when the pet's quality of life is such that they are in pain and suffering it's time. Still it isn't an easy decision and we tend to put it off because we can't bear to lose them. Hugs to you in having to make your decision. I've been there before. This is a great thread. Here are some of the funniest pics I've taken. notsure----a pic of a dog that isn't sure he wants to jump in the pool to retrieve the ball, he had never been in the water before. hedidit---the desire to get the ball won! He so carefully went into the water and I captured this just at the right moment. The next two are just a couple of pictures of my dog that shows him being a member of the family. The fact that it is a true story and is being told by someone who has managed to break the cycle of abuse is fascinating to me. How these children ever made it through to adulthood is miraculous and how a Mother could inflict such pain on her own children is horrible. The books do leave me with thoughts that I cannot get rid of, but it is a story I am glad I have read about. I just finished a great book. If any of you have read the series of books by Dave Pelzer, "A Child Called 'It'", "The Lost Child", or "A Man Called Dave", you must read his brother's book, "A Brother's Journey" by Richard Pelzer. Again, this book tells about the abuse this family has dealt with and how they have overcome the horrendous childhood abuse by their mother. A while back, everyone submitted recipes to this forum, and someone was going to put together a cookbook. I wonder whatever happened with that. I use to think our water was good compared to other places I have been, particularly Arizona and Minnesota. Years ago, I started filtering our water, and I now realize our tap water doesn't taste so good!!! It's not as bad as other places, but it still has a funny taste. Your pain is felt by all of us here. It is so very difficult to lose a friend. I've seen a few friends and family members battle cancer, one particularly hard was my young friend with none of the known risks for breast cancer, but lost her battle at a way to young age. I am soooo glad you asked this question. I have been trying everything I could think of to edit a .pdf document. Now, at last I have some ideas as to how to at least try and see if it can be done! I don't like that the "public votes" either. Sometimes voting tends to be a 'popularity' contest rather than for talent. I hadn't heard about the show being aired again because of a 'mix up' in the phone numbers. I love the comments by the judges and USUALLY....Simon is 'right on'.
