Googles are lightly tacked in so that they can be replaced as they wear out, other than the stitched rim non of the googles are covered by the helmet. The face is indeed molded/sculpted. Some canopies can be fun to fly, but treat you like their bitch on opening. -- Jarno

I truly wish I had been able to complete this project before Wes left us. The last time I talked to him and showed him pictures he was excited to see his design taken this direction. My inspiration intially came from Matt Hoover and Brett Thomas, both of whom have made their own CCM. The idea for my CCM was from Wes' helmet shown on his webpage (rimworldvideo.com) but taken to the next level. I started making my CCM in November of '08. There were weeks that I would not touch it and numerous times I had to 'erase' steps and redo them. I had never worked with materials like this before and the detail my helmet required forced me to become very proficient at working with fiberglass and carbon fiber. My total cost and time invested??.... who knows or cares to be honest. The experience of making a CCM was worth every second I am way too lazy to shrink multiple photos down to the DZ.com size limits but several photos are attached. You can see more pictures of my helmet at .... http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/album.php?aid=33477&id=1527095635 I welcome feedback and look forward to your comments. LOVED it, supper responsive, snivels forever, openings so soft you sometimes looked up and was suprised to see a canopy there....... fast fun landings!!! I am now on a Xfire 139 and loving it!!!! What is the small metal ring shown in this picture. When watching some of the videos from the Netherland championships I saw this (attached) on the cameraman's front riser. Seems like this would be a good way to connect to the B-lines of the center cell to create the effect dicussed earlier in the thread. Ring is kinda small and looks like it would bite into the skin if it is that though. Some canopies can be fun to fly, but treat you like their bitch on opening. -- Jarno -
LF a 2way Sequential partner- Houston, Texas area
BartRN replied to BartRN's topic in Canopy Relative Work
Well, I have asked around and can't find anyone so throwing a lure out here and seeing if I get a bite or a referral hehe. I have about 50 CReW jumps, several stacks but mostly downplanes. I have a coach ready for us that doesn't have the time to train or partner with me , Craig Standlee aka Catfish, and I have a lot of local crw dogs who wanna just play or flat out work too much to do the team thing. I am looking for someone who has some (however small) CRW experience but wants to do more. Someone who has or is willing to buy a CRW canopy (I have a demo specced Lightning on the way) and WL it at ~ 1.35. I want to do 2way sequentials with the goal of being able to enter nationals with no expectation to win just to mainly have fun and experience the event. If you are interested or know of anyone interested please lemme know. I am tired of getting the bug eyed are you crazy looks from all these RW folks when I ask them hehehe. You can contact me here or shoot me an email (see profile) if you know someone or are interested yourself. Blue skies n Frosty brews!!! I also use the flatlock on my optic and have had no issues. I was worried when we went to mount it that it wouldn't sit right but it bolted down without any problems. Some canopies can be fun to fly, but treat you like their bitch on opening. -- Jarno
