  1. I'm pissed my tax dollars were used ALL day for something that amounts to nothing. It was just a forum for Clemens to talk all damn day. What are they going to prosecute him for? Perjury? As if they'll prove that. And do we not have more pertinent issues the news could be covering (and my tax dollars paying for)? SO stupid. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  2. I LOVE it. We capture Sabre yawning all the time. Here are a couple: Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  3. This thread is funny. I like you already. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  4. I elect to "opt out of meat" most of the time because of the status quo (from every angle). For me, however, I would think it "a step UP the 'food chain'" to simply implement a better (and more humane) system. On a related but separate note: At the risk of sounding defeatist, I don't foresee a vegetarian society on the horizon. In fact I've discovered it to be one of the most obvious, yet more difficult, things to implement change due to the chosen ignorance. I've learned many (most?) people just do NOT want to hear about how their food gets to them. Right or wrong, they want their fast-food burgers. And even those that admit it's atrocious on how that burger might get to them (and for so cheap), they're not willing to give it up, and instead convince themselves it's an isolated incident and can't possibly be "the norm". It's a difficult battle, admittedly. I myself use the "every little bit counts" approach. And I believe it does. Hell, I'd be happy if someone who eats meat breakfast, lunch, and dinner decides to trade just one of their current meat products for one that is "certified humane" (not the holy grail, but a step in the right direction), "no antibiotics" and "free-range". 5. I'm curious to hear this, too. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  6. At the risk of sending this feel-good thread to Bonfire, I have to agree. I LOVE dining out and used to all the time. As we became pickier and pickier about where our food came from and better and better at preparing it with fresh, natural ingredients it became completely clear why someone would make a statement such as yours. I never understood before how anyone would think Carrabbas anything but delicioso! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  7. Letters are scary. Papercuts can be SO painful! I say send the letter; let Berkeley be the psychedelic Ave Maria. If we're going with the Gandhi philosophy, however, I see no reason to harass our troops. I realize the letter can be perceived as a form of harassment in and of itself. I guess my issue is very simply the physical conduct of the protestors and the pro-military groups toward one another. It solves nothing. Perhaps since Berkeley supports the troops, but not the war (or recruitment) a compromise could be arranged: Recruitment office goes. Welcome Project Bore Snake office! Or maybe they also support the troops, but don't support them having clean weapons. This surely is one for the top minds to solve! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  8. Why read the book when the movie is over in less than two hours and then I can take a nap? (paraphrased from comedian Jim Gaffigan.) Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  9. In my life the greatest hostility from another I've been on the receiving end of is always related to my meat & dairy restrictions. It baffles me the mere knowledge of this choice of mine quite literally offends some people. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  10. Mos 'def! And in addition to his penis being prehensile, it can swivel around different ways! No wonder they've been known to go humping on other sea animals or even humans! Good stuff. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  11. Since you abhor animal cruelty, do you only eat such meat which has been "harvested responsibly". What is your definition of "responsible harvesting"? The irony is I agree with your statement (so long as your definition of "responsible harvesting" equals mine) and thus I choose to limit what & how much meat and/or animal products I will eat and am rather picky about where said products come from. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  12. No way, sista! When OBT said "Hell no!" to senseless nakedness, strippers began reciting Shakespeare whilst they got nakie. 'Tis educationals.
  13. No worries. We're supposed to debate here though, not make nice. So... I do support McCain... even though I disagree with him on several issues. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  14. To add what I just said above you (), I posted it as irony. And I do like Alice Cooper. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  15. P.S. My intention was to be funny--NOT "belittle or PA" you. I see how my quote from Alice Cooper might have been perceived as a PA. FWIW I did not mean for it to be. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  16. I'm NO lefty--or conservative for that matter. I'm an Independent who leans right if it really matters. Second, I knew what you were quoting from the get. Hence why I said "I like country..." (i.e. the Aaron Tippin song you referred to) and "I like pop" (i.e. John Mellencamp who also 'coined' the phrase before Tippin)... It's not an original statement. I get the message. "I hate quotation. Tell me what you know." Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  17. (Taken from "Why Do Men Have Nipples?") Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  18. When I was just a little girl in the 80s one of the long-haired rocker guitarists who worked where I took music lessons glued a couple quarters to the cement just outside the exit door to the store. He said he liked looking at the girl's butts when they bent over and tried to pick it up. Was "someone" attracted to the rigger? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  19. I've been following this since its beginning. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  20. I like country and even pop, but rock is what I've got: Put your hands in the sky Let your freaky colors fly Get 'em way up high You got style and you got game So get it out don't be ashamed Let everybody know your name Get it on out now what's you name If you don't stand for something You will fall for anything If you don't stand for something You will fall for anything Get up From he who said, "If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are." Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  21. I've noticed I spoke a lot more about politics before HH went and made a corner for it. I hate corners. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
