cadmium residue???? Sunpath what are you charging us for?
spootch replied to TheDonMan's topic in Gear and Rigging
how old is the rig? and did they replace all the ring hardware (from the chest down)? -
I do not know if it can be justified by the following, but it is at least worth to spend a few thoughts on it: With the Cypres 2 you get a full 12,5-year warranty. If the unit quits working for whatever reason, except obvious mistreatment, it will be replaced for free. With the Vigil 2 you get a one-year warranty. Thereafter youe have to pay for every repair that might become necessary within it's ESTIMATED life-span of 20 years. Comparing costs means putting a bet on the Vigil versus a guarantee on the Cypres. with an 7 1/2 year spread. I'm willing to pony up

Our dzo swears by them, we now run vigils in half the student and rental gear. No problems with either brand of aad's as far as i know . give it another 4 years and i'm sure they all will be vigils.

And the great thing about this forum is that I do get to expreess my opinion if I want to. Maybe you augment the electrical shock system with flares or smoke signals, different colours could mean different things Now it seems to me, if I recall correctly, that once upon a time, you yourself Ian was contemplating the merritt of placing a "SHOCK COLLAR" around the necks of students to "remind" them to flare

How long till you started flying off the net on your head?
spootch replied to Emmie's topic in Wind Tunnels
"How long till you started flying off the net on your head?" This is the topic of the thread NOT "Talk shit about other peoples flying ability" STAY ON TOPIC ASSHOLE Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realise that you owned this system and therefore controlled what everyone can talk about. Silly me, I must have mistaken you for an obnoxious idiot. Fight nicely kids !! -
If you want to be a champion in this sport you have to eat like a champion! Cheese cake and fried chicken 4-5 times a day for the next 4.5 months! (should have you up to fighting weight in no time) be strong!

Oh come on now, quit pouting your gonna trip on your bottom lip you are more than welcome to come watch me pack my new sabre2. I have barely managed to wrestle it in the bag more than a few hundred times. To the op, good on ya for asking questions before you buy, it is good to see you are doing your homework. Arm yourself with knowledge. To the rest of you kids out there, your mom is right, there is no such thing as a STUPID question. Oh and remember when she said "If you can't say anything nice.................."
-
No thanks, this was not about beer at all.Quote It's all about the beer now , I'm drinkin yours
-
Listen to your mom there is no such thing I wouldn't do it again The perception of it. They aren't a new canopy anymore. People can now draw on real experiences instead of reading about it from a PD website. I haven't came across any mfr yet who describes thier product as "Opens a little shitty but flies like a dream!" Nothin wrong with gettin other peoples opinions before you buy.............wana beer?

whats wrong with asking questions?

Splitting hairs here I think. I am curious to know what you would do, or other rigger Bs for that matter, if Johnny Jumper drops his rig off for a repack and you notice extra flaps sewn in or material missing that is obviously not a mfr sanctioned repair?
-
UPDATE Well I got the rig back from Sunpath and guess what, everything is of the correct size. The rig still has gapping holes on the sides. In communicating with Sunpath they as much as said there is no solution to fix the problem. The only advice Aggie could come up with was to turn the ends of the line stows away from the holes and use the "pinch" of the bag/container to hold them there. I discussed with Riggerrob about sewing "flaps" on the container to cover the holes, to which he replied "I can only duplicate a close copy of what the manufacturer has made". Long story short, if it wasn't made by Sunpath it's not getting sewn in. And I agree. On that note, Sandy Reed has seen the problem and claims to have the only sure fire way to fix the problem entirely..... Sorry Sunpath your, It is what it is, live with it attitude sucks. Your dynamic corners suck, and your customer service is starting to resemble your corners. You sold me your last container, and that sucks

I think what Rob is saying is to not "feed them with a fire hose" to which I agree. It appears like you both have diffrent teaching styles which is also good. Sounds like you both have much to offer to the sport

Haha, oops... whatever. Sabre2, Spectre, Safire2... I'll keep all their spellings straight one of these days. but I like how at first it was my packing, now it's the dz packers, we have about 15 by the way. It is not the packer, how finicky can the Sabre2 be? Like I said, not the same degree of issues with the Spectre openings. If the packing needs to be so maticulous, again... I don't want one, but I'm glad you like yours. Sabre 2 are not finiky to pack. I pack mine with no "magick" tecnique passed on from packer to packer. Truth is they do tend to open hard sometimes and in most cases they do open off heading, almost always with end cell closure (unless they have just finished slamming you) I got sick of the occasional shit kicking openings on my super sabre, got in touch with PD and they sent me one size larger slider, for free! and that helps the "blam" effect . It still has the other anoyance quirks but you can't beat that wicked they have! 375 jumps on sabre2 170

So I have Adobe premier elements 7 loaded into my PC (vista). I have used the program several times with no problems. However last time i went to do some editing with it it asked where the file "blablabla" is. So I take the program by the hand and show it where the file is (yes it is stored on my external drive). As soon as i click the file it responds that it needs a "codec" to make it work. WTF? it worked before, where the hell did it go? How do I find out what codec is missing? Or should I just use a bigger hammer?

What whuffo questions annoy you the most?
spootch replied to Tuna-Salad's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well I gotta say, hands down, the whuffo question that annoys me most is from my wife "Can we go home yet?" -
Whats wrong with our "old age and beauty"? Ahhh T, it was only yesterday Ian and I were discussing how you perfer to jump your PDR over your Stiletto lately. And, (after a tall scotch) we have come to the conclusion you only do tandems now so you can have a second opinion ! .........ZING!...can I get an AMEN!
-
Friggin uptight space this seems to be getting lately. I agree! People seem to get hammered for asking or answering questions in this place. Mr Harrop has somewhat of a bum leg that has hampered his jumping for the time being. Your post looked as though you were taking a "jab" at him. I appologise for interpreting it as such "How are you today mr Harrop?" "oh...you know, fat an happy , fat an happy!"
-
As he said in his first post "no snow" feel free to read it again. (and yep it snows where he's from) I also don't think you realise who Ian Harrop is or what he has done for this sport. The man is asking his jumping community for help cause he needs a few pics for his FJC and you flame him? Man I love this place!
