In the 17 and 18th Centuries it all started out as Christian. Your myths have been successfully forced on us. Fortunately, our happiness is not dependent on what you and your ilk do. We know how it ends. But, life is going to get very hard in the near future. The difference is that I don't call for laws that force my morality on you. You, OTOH, want to force your morality on everyone else. Trying to force a lack of morality on someone is just as bad, if not worse. How, exactly, could someone force a lack of morality on you, Turtle? The same way that someone can force morality on someone. I guess I should have been paying attention to who said what. I often don't. When I read the question posed to Turtle, what I thought I read was "Turtle, you are so immoral that imposing immorality on you is like convincing a slut to spread her legs." Or, immorality and perversion is just Turtle's idea of a good Friday night. I totally missed the argumentative nature of the question. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

It always strikes me when people imply that it's as bad to dislike people for having dislikeable views as it is to have those views. Ow. Does it hurt being struck? A little. I think I'm going to report some violence in the workplace. HEY that's sexual harassment! Not yet. Get your hard shell little ass over here and I'll show you what sexual harassment is. I went to training last week. I'm better than ever. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. You are going to have a hard time convincing me that anyone deeply involved with government wants to make it smaller or reduce the budget. Not employees, not contractors, not elected employees, nobody. Call them Democrats, Republicans, Independents...they are being paid by the machine. Why would they want to dismantle it? You are the Juror. George Zimmerman trial

This phrase reminded me of a quote from a Cary Grant movie. Roughly, "Before the age of 14, a woman is protected by law. After 80, by Mother Nature. In between, she's fair game." Once you are no longer a genuine 'little lady' I'm having a hard time with the 'innocent' part. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. This is a great day. As much as I love Andy, getting him to agree with me has not always been easy. I think I would have had an easier time before SCOTUS. Interesting. So, those pull-up bars on the power cage are not meant for pull-ups? You aren't meant to slide a bench into the squart rack and use it for military presses, bench presses, and all those other things they show on the literature? Some power cages actually have steps to assist in getting to the pull-up bars...for show, I'm sure. Now that I think about it, there are a few exercises (like mil press) that have no station in my gym unless you use the squat rack or power cage. Oh dear. Can I use the pull-down bar to do press-downs? Can I use the cable crossover to do pulley curls? Where can I go to do cable crunches? I can't find a specific machine for that. Face it. Someone got to the machine before you. If they are using it to exercise, they are using it for it's intended purpose. Claiming you have some superior right to it because you want to do another exercise is silly. I'm working in the 4-6 rep range this month. Curls will be upwards of 135lbs. I can clearly pick that up from the floor. But thanks to the machinery in the gym for my use, I don't have to. Reduces the chance of injury to a lower back that hasn't been warmed up. If you show up and it is absolutely imperative that you do squats right now and can't wait a few minutes or spend your time warming up, just ask. I have no problem making room for another gym rat. I just don't recognize a superior right to a piece of equipment because someone else wants it and thinks I'm not using it 'right'. We had a hard winter a couple of years ago. Froze a couple of places in the sprinkler system which then leaked once summer came around. I got a bill for $2,400. Fortunately, the water company allows an adjustment once per year if you can send a bill showing you had the problem fixed. Saved me $2,400. You might want to ask if your water company has such a feature. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. I'm not a fan of bigotry by any means. But, to be fair... Bigotry is pretty much hating a group of people because of their views or how they were born. On SC, lots of hate is expressed for individuals for their views. Bigotry seems a bit more efficient, doesn't it? I don't know. With all of the hate and disrespect thrown around in SC, it just strikes me as odd to decry bigotry. I fully agree with your sentiment. It just kind of struck me. Summary of my one case of personal involvement with voluntary / involuntary committment... If someone puts in writing that they think you are a risk to yourself, you will be committed for at least 72 hours. If you fight it, they will take the document to an adjudicator who will fill out the paperwork and involuntarily commit you until the psychiatrist releases you. So, they lean on you to do the voluntary, because you will get out quicker. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. No worries about the MOS. The Army is constantly short of 35 series. The training and TS clearance have value on the civilian market as well. Yes, 'needs of the Army' justifies changing lots of things after someone is in the service. But his contract will specify the MOS. That's set in stone. After AIT, we aren't going to spend the money to train him for another job unless it's one that's even more short-handed AND he volunteers. Especially in the Reserves. By the time that would even be an issue, he should be commissioned. No worries. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Sorry about the paperwork. Been there. Done that. My solution? Being a smarta__, of course. Q: What have you done to recruit minorities and women in the past quarter? A: Does asking women on dates count? Q: What have you done to encourage minorities and women to seek employment here in the last quarter? A: I offered a few women a position on my staff. Does that count? My boss read my responses and excused me from the follow-on meeting...and all subsequent reporting. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. 35F is a very flexible MOS. He just needs to realize that it's not James Bond time. It can get tedious. He'll want a car in Arizona. There are things to do within driving distance of Ft. Huachuca, but you have to have wheels. Airborne is fun, but not nearly as nice as skydiving. He should get offered Airborne training during the summer while he's in school. If he gets a choice, he should take Air Assault. Airborne is easy to get on active duty. Air Assault is much harder to get. Sounds like you did a great job with him. To have a solid plan at 18 is fantastic. Recommend a solid discussion on women and alcohol. Many kids get out for the first time with freedom and money; they have to deal with alcohol and women without adult oversight; they lose it. Those are the most likely obstacles I see for him right now. Moderation and condoms can be a big help to his aspirations. Again, congratulations. You must have done lots of things right for a very long time to get to this point. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. NSA collecting phone records of millions of Verizon customers daily

+1 It amazes me how often the participants on this forum digress to "Did not!" "Did to!" Double-dog dares, and other school yard behavior. So many on this forum seem to think their party is wonderful. I have to wonder if we are talking about the same parties. I always find myself holding my nose as I vote for the (barely) least repugnant candidate. By the way..."left wing" and "right wing" are used so frequently around here that I am fairly sure the meaning of these terms was long since lost. Buzz off...You have the right to read or not read any thread you want. Don't come on here and tell everyone they must conform to your ideal of this forums use. Don't like certain posters? Then don't read them. I rarely read anything you or many others write. So there. LOL Thanks! I needed that. I had ignored this forum for a couple of months. I'll drop back sometime and see if anything has changed. David I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. On all sides! Remeber when it was liberals who supported civil rights, privacy, etc? I do. Remember when liberals were the ones against the military industrial complex? Back when liberals supported the right to do what they wanted outside of government compulsion? Now we have a police security state. Yep - no doubt the Republicans hate it because it isn't them who is doing it. It's because there is no choice between GOP and Democrats. Both will run up deficits, increase the size and scope of the government, and hope things are not found Unconstitutional until the other party is in power. They're all hypocrites. I'm concerned mainly about anyone who points out that only one side is hypocritical. Yup. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..
